    Thank you for this! I’ve done most of your mods on my ‘21 Sportglide and I’m gonna do this one too. I’m hoping it’ll push me forward enough to have more control of the bike in spirited riding.

      Hi Ian, wow I must have cost you a small fortune. Hope the mods worked for you. Im 5'6" and the seat holds me perfectly when accelerating. It is just so supportive and comfortable and one of the best looking and best performing mods I have done to the bike. One other mod that I had done this year (by the dealership) was heated grips. Ride safe

    Hah! Yup you did, but being another shortarse that seat is sorely needed. I always find myself sitting on the back part of the tank when I hit the twistiest or even doing tight u turns. I love the bike but still miss my ‘06 Road King Custom I bought new for my 50th. I put an SE cam, cam plate and upgraded oil pump on it last season. It’s woken the bike up a little and I’m happy with it. V & H Propipe doesn’t really give me the tone I was hoping for but, along with the S&S filter it now breathes bettervthan stock. I’m an ex. pat Londoner in NY and don’t see many Sportglides on the road here, most riders preferring the Low Rider. Our bikes spin up a bit quicker and I’ve managed to surprise a few 114 riders. Keep up the fl good work and stay safe out there!

      Im 72 this year so the bike is quick enough for me & I manage to keep up with my Sons but the spec on your bike sounds awesome. A real shame HD no longer sell the SP in the US, my understanding is its still a big seller in the UK & Europe. I keep looking at the Fat Bob (my Son had one) but the SG is like a Swiss Army knife it has everything except a bigger engine🤷‍♂. Thanks for following

    That’s so cool to hear. 72? You look good man!
    After working in Switzerland in the early - mid ‘70’s I was looking at the Sportster but bought a Bonnie instead… big mistake. Left the country to come over here a couple of years later…… and bought… another Triumph Lol! Yes, I’ve had a madochistic stresk for far too long! Currently have a P11, a 1970 Trophy C model, a HondaCRF and a Thruxton Combo. If you’re ever in upstate NY give us a bell.

    My last Saddleman Explorer seat with backrest took about 800 miles to breakin, then the seat fit me very well. I am now going to install my new Saddleman Explorer Special seat without backrest on my 2007 Fatboy. I expect this seat will take around 500 to 800 miles to breakin. The Fatboy will soon be converted into a Frankenstein Trike.

    Looking good Martin,I would imagine it would be instantly better than the original and improve even more as miles are ridden.My only issue with knurled bolt “upgrade” is that when I fitted one on to my 48 with my standard seat,I found when I was riding,it actually made contact with the bolt and was rubbing the seat back.

    Will be interested to see what your views are several hundred miles down the road...am thinking of getting some form of Saddleman seat myself... I kinda like the ones with removeable backrest as I have had several back surgeries and if I want to do long distance..am thinking a bit of back support would be nice. :)

    Hello, I stopped by the dealer today and was able to see the ST (definitely a nice appearance) but the sitting position is not what I expected, very sporty, not at all like the SG, the footrests are also too far under the engine, which is not comfortable for me, I would not be able to drive it for 200 km in a row (weak back). The steering wheel is also too narrow. So a lot has to be changed to get it like the SG! Then the price for my SG 2022 750km
    I found by the hair pulled € 17000 for a new engine is left!!
    Decision I stay with the SG and look forward to a Badwing

      @@My_bike_and_me Ok, I ask you this question because I would like to place that fairing of the Lowrider ST on the Sport glide, but that thing costs €2000 to paint and install and if you compare the two new engines, the difference is also about €2000. I don't make sense but that's HD for sure! My previous HD was a Road King special and I traded it for an SP way too heavy to drive locally!

    • @My_bike_and_me
      @My_bike_and_me  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its no higher than the OEM for me. As for, is it further back? that depends. The stock seat didn't have a definitive end point for your back so I found myself slipping further back as the ride went on. With saddleman you have a definitive back stop that you naturally sit right back into. Im 5'6" and find it perfect hight and very comfortable for hand and leg reach. Really very pleased with it from day one and now after 1,500 miles. hope that is of some help

    Hello, I made the comparison SDc VS Explore, there is a big difference in the size of the saddles! If you go to the Saddlemen website and look at Spec's Expl- Sdc
    A=14.5-11.5
    B=14.5-14.55
    C=9.5-6.5
    E=12-6
    F=12.25-12
