I have a Theory that its not actually a Toy Prototype but rather a prototype of the Grabpack we've been using and is adding different parts to himself to match us with all the attachments that we have!
I'd genuinely love that, it'd be a really interesting compared to just being some strange toy, it also opens up a lot of questions about the grabpack, and it would make the fact that we've only seen its arm all the more relevant. Maybe it could be like a build your own grabpack toy or something, although just being a grabpack with no toy background would be cool like I said earlier.

Okay, having the prototype being based on erector sets it’s an AWESOME concept. I used to have an erector set and while I sadly lost a lot of the parts, it was quite fun to build and I wish the sets were still prominent in today’s toy market. You really don’t see them much anymore.

I feel like we have some connection to the prototype. In the final log from Chapter 1, the scientist spoke a lot about "him" not being present during the incident. Then in chapter 3, we find out that the protagonist also wasn't present. 🤔 In some fucked up way, we could be part of the prototype. We could be the flaw in his design. But I can't quite put it together. But this franchise takes a lot of inspiration from other media. Have you seen the movie US? In that film, they cloned people, but couldn't replicate the soul, so the soulless being sought to kill it's counterpart to have its own, and live in the real world.

My theory: As we know poppy was daughter of elliot Ludwig and when she died she was turend into a doll thats when Ludwig got mad and when he offended the scientist who have done this they turned him into the prototype thats why Ludwig(prototype) doesn't kill poppy and sealed her because Ludwig killed everyone and poppy wanted to take revenge but Ludwig loved her and We as a employee who loved childrens like Ludwig helped Ludwig to take revenge and make hour of joy happen (we were absent that time) and when catnap tried to killed us and prototype saw us he killled him(catnap) because we helped prototype and same happened with mommy long legs as she stole poppy and tried to kill Us but huggy wuggy didn't killed us and didn't do anything to poppy basically we are back here to see what is going on there thats why we see guilt haunts you in hallucinations and I think all kids are safe with prototype and dog day was cutted half because he helped poppy and tried to offend us but didn't killed him as he was a kid to and leader of smiling clitters 😅😮

Built this Prototype before any other toy BUT In one of the tapes, where the Prototype is talking to this doctor, he says *_You have something special, and i'll do whatever to find it_* Wich means they don't know how it's built or what is it made of They didn't make the prototype They found it And they were trying to replicate something about it with the children and some employees like Poppy Not sure if it was the part about turning people into toys or transfering the conciousness to inanimated objects like Ollie is probably the phone and not someone on the other side of the line

I thought the prototype was inspired by The Other Mother from Coraline. In the movie she has 3 forms. At first she looks exactly like Mel Jones minus the eyes then she turns into this skinny and tall woman then in her final form she's a tall skeleton figure with Needle like fingers exactly like the prototype. If we're going to take the portal route there's another thing about GLADOS I think should be mentioned. They never exactly explain why she has such a different look between both games but the reason why she had Cores attached to her body was to "stabilize" her. Towards Chapter 9 I believe before you go face Whetley she says the following: "You know I'm not stupid I realized you don't want to put me back in charge. You think I'll betray you and on any other day you'd be right. The scientists were always hanging cores on me to regulate my behavior. I've heard voices all my life." If they really did inspire the Prototype from GLADOS then do you think maybe he betrayed Catnap because his purpose was already fulfilled? Or maybe is Poppy going to betray us at some point in the game when she's finished with us. After she was quick to say how we were "perfect" as if she had an agenda and needed someone smart enough to get rid of her enemies. This also happened in the wizard of OZ when Glenda tells Dorothy to follow the yellow brick road. For the entire time of the movie she never tells her the power of the Ruby Slippers and with the wizard the wicked witch of the east and west gone she was able to rule without anyone questioning her.
