Great work there by the director cutting away just as they crossed the finish line.

This moment led to one of the simplest, but greatest quotes in victory lane history when a teared up Al told the reporter: "well....you don't know what Indy means". Yes Al. I understand. Great moment in Indy history and Scott Goodyear was, and is, a class act.

Why in blazes did the director switch cameras at the finish? Ruined the moment. Even dumber than the fool who kept showing Rick Mears' wife in '82 race.

Tony George was nothing but an American homer with an ego because he was a hulman and felt like he owned open wheel racing. If he could have just went some were else in indycar he could have been a lot richer but nope and now indycar is losing money because of his stupid ideas this could have be a major completion to F1.

To be fair, Penske won in 1979, 1981, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, and 1991. 7 out of 13 is pretty dominant. It was just better on the eyes because they didn't look like clones of each other in not only chassis design but paint scheme.

1st of 3 Indy heartbreaks for Goodyear. In '95, a mistake by the pace car driver allowed him to pass it on turn 3 as he was leading and he was black-flagged. As he led going into the last lap In '97, a technical flub by the track officials showed him yellow lights on the final lap as both the green and white flags were waved and he was caught off-guard, allowing him to be passed.
