Grendel is an extremely unique and surprisingly powerful Warframe, capable of amassing insane amount of armor on top of his enormous health pool. With my build, he's also capable of sustaining energy despite spamming buffs on demand. Watch the video to see how it all works.
Hands down the best Grendel video I've seen someone make. A lot of people say Grendel is good and show you a build, then don't elaborate on how you should be using him. I'm gonna try this one out and see if it will finally make the big boy click for me.

This video kind of inspired me to want to take Grendel for another spin. I need to helminth the 4 away first though. Getting Grendel with plat instead of arbitration and those missions grind is a good option. I went with those missions in the past as clan mate wanted help with them. Almost got a carpal tunnel doing heavy slams on that defense mission.

Another really good video, thanks mate. Couple of helminth alternatives suggestions from me:
Spectrosiphon from Gara works superbly well with Grendel too. Good croud control (which he lacks) and extra energy, if you decide to vomit in the mirrors.
Ember's fireblast is good too, for extra Armour stripping and faster time to kill. Gives some sort of cc too.
Thanks bud! Just to clarify, Spectrorage is the ability and Spectrosiphon is the augment which gives energy orbs on kill. I don't really love the ability without the augment, and don't really see a place for it in my build for Steel Path+ missions, but if you're digging it, go for it. Fire Blast I like more, but as I said in the vid, I don't think anything is as good as Ensnare, unfortunately.
@@Apocryphate yes I meant the augment for the energy. Gives a huge boost to Grendel's energy management. I run prime flow, adaptation, vitality, hunter adrenaline, Spectrosiphon, umbral intensify, prime continuity and stretch. + cunning drift and whatever aura. Works wonders in long survival.
Thank you. After Grendel was such a pain to get. I was a bit let down that he was just a meme frame to roll around in ( which was fun for a while ). I guess I'll have take him down from the shelf, dust him off, and give him a try with some juice this time.
He's not the strongest frame in the game, but he's plenty good and a fun way to change things up.

Thanks bud! I didn't forget, it's just that abusing shield gating isn't a style of play I enjoy, so I left it out of the video. I had actually planned on mentioning how he's ideal for that style, but the vid was already getting long, so I never got to it. I did talk about it for a bit on stream today, though.

Keeping only 3 enemies in the belly grants Infinite energy and immortality
The cycle is oddly fun seeing your energy spike up after attacks only to regain lost health instantly.
Could not ask for a more fun and satisfying build ❤

Thank you! Honestly, for most stuff it's much simpler to use Overframe.gg as you can just plug mods/arcanes into a new build, toggle conditional effects, etc. It does all the major calculations for you.

For me personally I always replace number three even the times where I would use that I find I could just run up to them and just use one and then on anyone who's left just reabsorb them and beyond that I just in the sort of Jackass who way too much just fucking loves the number 4 slot and makes it a point always put catapult on all my Grendel builds.......

Great guide. I played warframe often years ago but am just now coming back after a long hiatus. So much has changed. How are you able to use ensnare as Grendel?
Welcome back! There's a new item called "Helminth Segment" for your Orbiter that you get from a vendor for the newest open world on Deimos. That let's you "subsume" (or eat, basically), one of each Warframe, which adds one of their abilities to Helminth's library (e.g. subsuming Khora adds Ensnare). You can then replace any ability on any frame with an ability from the library. Hope that makes sense!

Someone recommended you to me when I was searching for builds for ember and I've enjoyed that one so far. Now that Nyx has gotten a buff I was wondering if you could make a build for her sometime since she's always been a warframe I wanted to play but never had any drive to.

Grendel's feast feels like more of a gimmick than having an actual use honestly, the only good thing he has is shieldgating imo and that's pretty much it :'(
Then you didn't explore enough. this build works, I've seen other TH-cam builds that also worked and tested by myself. you just need to find that perfect combination for Grendel to work.
And his 1st isn't a gimmick, it's literally the centerpiece in his kit. none of his other abilities won't work if he doesn't use his 1.
