    The hi hats sound great to me. Rides, crashes, splashes - it’s not my favourite tone, but i can hear how these will work well in a mix, because how focused they are. Thank you to Drummers Review for making such a transparent showcase of these cymbals! I love how you start with just showing the cymbals and only last you share you opinion, this avoids the people watching getting influenced by your expert view until they have their own opinion.

    These are the cymbals I would buy when starting out or if on a budget.

    I always like to highlight the performance of this gentleman, I know they were reviewing cymbals, but the variety of sounds this guy can get out of that snare is amazing, love the hi hats by the way .

    If you give up all snobbery, these cymbals are at sweet spot of price versus quality. Perfectly usable for professional recordings.

    This is much needed.
    I am a huge fan of the 2002s and wanted to see how these sound from your studio

    In my arsenal there are PST 7 14" medium hats, 17", 18" and 19" medium chrashes, 20" medium ride and 10" splash. Perfect for my taste.

    I totally agree with this review,,,I have a set of the PST7 Lights that I use with my Neusonic Kit and it will be my kit for long time to come! I love these cymbals.

    Seems you were misinformed about the PST7 line being started in the German factory. They are 100% made in Switzerland factory… Per speaking with PAISTE , direct and their reps.

    I’m a huge 2002 fan and I recently bought a set of thin crashes (18, 19 and 20” light ride as a crash) for rehearsals.
    I must say I was very impressed with their sound. Ofcourse you hear the difference but in band situation they are very much alike the 2002’s.
    I actually forgot to replace them in my cymbal-bag and took them to a gig. No-one heard the difference (or didn’t care😉)
    Especially the 20” light ride is beauty to use as a crash.

      the big difference is in the top end ringing after crashing it. the initial crash is excellent and very close. in my opinion id use these for rehearsals and back up if i had 2002's since backups that are 2002's are doubling your cost by a large margin.

    I've ben playing an enhanced box set of these in medium weight since they came out - they are indeed budget 2002's but do measure up if a more "precise" tone is the sound you are after. The medium ride is serviceable and does crash well in a high volume setting; the hats are versatile and the 16in crash is ok as an accent but otherwise underwhelming. The 18in is the winner in the medium range. I've not played the heavy range at all, or the effects, and the light overall do not suit my style. I will note the 20in light ride makes a spectacular crash and is in my opinion the closest thing in the range to a true 2002 and very much worth the hassle if you can find one outside of a pack simply for the price alone and pairs well with the mediums.

      I agree. Would I had the wherewithal I’d buy a set each of the light,medium and heavy extended sets along with the fx pack and a 14” China. Then mix and match till I was silly

    The hats are solid, love the ride, the 18" crash is good too. The 16", splash, and china are just ok.

    Apart from the crashes sounding a bit thin these are very fine for the money! Pretty much unbeatable at this price point.

    Having owned PST7 hats, 16" & 18" crashes & 20" ride, all light weight (darker tone) I'm happy but, yes but, the splash & China to me personally are out performed by some cheap ones I've bought.

    Thanks for the review :)
    After much reviewing, I think I want to buy this set. Now my very doubt, being totally new to drumming is, which thickness I should go for, light, medium or heavy?. Regarding drumming, I'm much, for not say ONLY, into pop-style music. I don't particularly like rock (well some I do!) and in no time I will be playing metal or heavy. Neither I like jazz at all.... yep I know, I'm very picky you may think, but well, tastes are as many and different as colours, isn't it? 😁
    To add even more, trying to help being helped, are to be used ALWAYS in a small Studio set up, mainly for self-playing, practising and recording my own practising and covers in the very far away future
    Thanks very much in advance if you could be of any help at all :)

    I have the "Heavy" version of the 18" crash, 20" ride and 14" Hats. IMHO, WAAAAY better tone and projection than the Mediums. That being said, the exception here is the 18" Medium, it pairs really nicely with my 18" Heavy. PST7 Heavies are nearly identical in tone to the 2002's I used to have. There are no other cymbals on the planet that compare with these in that price range, ZERO. I've tried so many and they all have that entry level stamped brass cheap tone.

  • @dmark2639
    @dmark2639 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think these PSTs are the best sounding entry level cymbals out there, bar none. These would easily handle any gig, (except maybe a jazz trio), sounding perfectly acceptable.

    • @biged680
      @biged680 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      they arent entry level
