I was in a meeting with Elder Packer and vividly remember him sharing the story when he was on the train leaving military service in Japan. He spoke of a little boy at the window of the train with a swollen jaw and Elder Packer trying to get the window open to give him some money for his tooth and how the windows wouldn't open and the train started pulling away as he watch the boy fade into the distance. He was very touched by sorrow and regret and we felt it still those many years later. He also shared a story about a similar experience in South America and a little hungry boy he held on his lap during a meeting. We love you our dear Brothers and Sisters in Japan. Indeed you are pioneers of your time and are remarkable examples.
My family and I lived in Okinawa for three years. My third child was born there. It was a wonderful experience. We were able to visit friends in Northern Japan 🇯🇵 as well as friends in Tokyo. Japan is such a beautiful place and the people are so kind and friendly. They love 💕 little children. When we were there only one temple was in operation. Now there are four in Japan and one in Okinawa. The Church has certainly taken root in that lovely country.
We are so Blessed to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ 💖 through out the world. . It's so lovely to hear that Japan have four Temples. What a blessing. UK
It's so amazing to see the brethren traveling around the world to share love and support. Truly world wide to all of our brothers and sisters. We love you!!!
34 years ago, I got baptized in Osaka and to this day, Gospel of Jesus Christ still continues to inspire me and motivate me to grow spiritually. If anyone told us that we would have a temple there someday, nobody would have believed it. Hats off to all the members and missionaries who kept sharing the joy of Gospel in Japan. Can't wait to go visit Osaka temple!
I agree! God is blessing our wonderful spiritual brothers and sisters in Japan to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ to help them to make eternally binding and strengthening covenants with God and their loved ones in holy temples.
...my late mother-in-law (the former sister evans) was one of the first missionaries in japan after the war...she had to learn the language on board the steam ship taking her there...she returned several times and met with old friends and acquaintances, still faithful in the church and gospel...
