I’m a catholic and I understand that dead works are dangerous to our salvation, because yes you can do all these traditions and yet people still sin and believe they are saved just like the pharisees with their traditions am I correct on some parts.

I just left a huge Church I briefly attended. Big stadium, coffee stand, hot dogs outside when you leave etc. Women preachers, It's to tickle our ears and some seem to go for the band and 5 singers sound affects. I am now with the quiet Biblical Church of Christ 1.4 miles from my condo. I can focus on the word more so 🙏

Aye bro I typically stay away from church and follow Christ with other like-minded believers but I do pop into my old non denominational (they're Pentecostal if we're honest) church to spread the truth and exhort the body of Christ. I made a very good reputation being close with the family who owns that church and many more so the Christians there hear me out and it's led to some growing in the truth and in faith praise Jesus! My point is we shouldn't completely avoid them but be sure you're only around them to build them up in the revelatory knowledge of God in Christ Jesus. God bless and hopefully this encourages someone to be bold in Christ today!

I went to a church where they talked in tongues, and I was told that because I did not talk in tongues I did not have a close relationship with God! Nothing could be further from the truth. It is through my immense suffering and continue to suffering. It’s how I hold onto the word of God.

Too add to this discussion, I just listened to a podcast from the Wild At Heart TH-cam channel titled “Don’t Miss The Main Thing”. It’s about how the main point of Christianity is restoring our Union with God and having intimate relationship with Him, to the v point that we are actually guided by His voice throughout our daily lives. He mentioned that he has been around many people who flow in the power of the Spirit, but they don’t really know his voice/ have 2-way conversations with him. Then he brought up the Matthew 7 verse about Jesus saying “I never knew you”. And the verse about how his sheep know his voice. That to me makes quite a bit of sense sense.

I was raised catholic then Recently i repented my sin and read the Bible and realized I wasn’t catholic I was Christian. I just got baptized Christian this year I can’t believe I was so deceived by my ignorance of not knowing the Bible.

(Get to) know the Scripture brother, pray, fast, and ask the Lord to take you by the hand and point you to a church (or more) where you will grow spiritually and have that biblical fellowship, discipleship. I'm a "baby Christian" but I have been "spiritually shaped" let's say over the last couple of years to discern between different churches' teachings (i still have a ways to go). I grew up in a majoritarily Orthodox country but born in a "hyper-gracey" Protestant family and that's the best (unsolicited, with respect to you) advice I can give.

Started going to church and it weakened my faith and once I stopped and started focusing on the word of God I felt my faith growing but I still want to find a “basement” church that can help me it’s just very hard to find

A friend of mine invited me to his Pentecostal church. Everyone at once broke out in tongues and I felt so out of place. The room got loud! It made me wonder how a new convert would view that. Also, I've heard of spiritual laughter. Just didn't feel right to me.
I know the feeling. That Denominational tells people that if they can't speak in tongues that they don't have the Holy Spirit. Which that's not true 1st Corinthians 12:30 makes it clear not everyone speaks in tongues. It's too cult like. I got so hurt the last church I went to that was Pentecostal I haven't wanted to go back sense.

Prophecy, however, is for the benefit of believers, not unbelievers. One thing i learnt is that tongues is a form of surrender of your understanding to the Holy Spirit. It does sound strange but its a gift language & a skill and you get better in one way by practicing. Its true in the beginning it might be gibberish but the more you surrender during the process the more it changes to more meaning. I dont speak Korean but do know very few words like less than 20 but one day i was confessing and repenting in tongues and i caught my self saying "im sorry" in korean and my mind was no where near thinking about Korean i was just focused on God.

Not emotional? Man I guess I must be different. I love the presence of God sometimes I cry when He shows up. I’m thankful for my healing. I sing to my Father and I cry while doing it. He saved me from torture. Man it’s been emotional for me. Hyper charismatic is one thing they could fake it or be forceful, but the presence of God does make me emotional. Every time I get a dream, vision, or hear His voice I love it and it makes me cry because He’s still with me.

I reluctantly left a pentacostal church where everyone spoke in "tongues". I didn't leave because of that, it actually sounded beautiful and heartfelt. I left because I was being pressured to speak in tongues also. They told me I don't have the holy Spirit if I don't speak in tongues. Then the pastor lied to the congregation and said he heard me speak in tongues during my baptism. I'm 99.99% sure I did not.
Yeah that’s not biblical. You do not need to speak in tongues to be saved. The thief on the cross definitely didn’t. Most “tongues” are fake and not interpreted by anyone like they should be.

I like your approach a lot. I can sense when someone feels a genuine positive beacon of christianity - humility is at the heart of it. On another note, I think too much is made of the trinity - to the point where it is used to debate the credibility of christianity. The father, the son - obvious. The spirit - this is the vibe - the 'comforter' as Jesus said - in which we can allow into our hearts, so that we are always attuned to being 'good' - to orientating towards Jesus' teachings. The spirit can be like an invisible friend, who is there to remind and support us as we try to stay on the path. It's the spirit that we can sense in true christians. subbed.

Some Good insight! I really vibe with your channel. I personally was very very skeptical of speaking in tongues and deliverance ministries. A few personal experiences changes my view on that forever. Nevertheless people get too caught and there are definitely fakes! So test the spirits and stay in the word above all else, blessings

David I am in a fighting phase, I believe I follow in the Christ, not needing to go church because the spirit abides. But the church is highly enforcing me to go t9 church every Sunday. I feel it puts me in bondage I need help or knowledge or wisdom
He is not the one to give you wisdom.
Whatever you do, do not forsake the gathering of His people. Whatever that looks like.
Even if the whole church is broken, there is at least a couple of true christians there. Plus you, it makes the three between which Christ can come when you pray. So go to the church. Switch the church if you dislike it, but go to a church.

A sin is a sin even if the world accepts it. He is a BETA MALE 😂 and i have another co worker who every day has an evil angry spirit who constantly gossips, has alot of anger/loud cusses and uses gods name in vein and thinks everyone is racist and constantly tries to divide but claims he is Christian and goes to chuch all the time. Now that i have jesus on my side I dont over react anymore and argue back with anger when he attacks me, mind you he is an assistant manger sets a had example as a "leader". He constantly gets triggered because i am a born again Christian and talk about Jesus and everything i do is for him and centered around Jesus. I have bible verses around my desk and it rubs him and others the wrong way. Please pray for me that God will give me the strength to perservere through all the hate now that the holy Spirit is stong in me and convicting me every day. I have a big family with 4 kids and its a shame that people will try to get me in trouble with HR/Fired because i talk about Jesus and FOLLOW him

Jesus Christ doesn’t need a hypeshow. The disciples weren’t hypemen. When things are flashy and over the top there may very well be some manufacturing of the Holy Spirit.
I have nothing against the church in qnd of itself. Meaning what God intended the church to be. However in many modern day churches it seems to be more about entertainment, show, money driven, and " I'm more blessed " than you nonsense. This is that Laodicean church age that we are in the age ending Apostate church. Most people have forgotten what it means to be a true follower of Christ.
The true day of worship is the Seventh Day Shabath.
Don't fall for the traps of Babylon, most of the churches teach wrong doctrines. Read the Bible yourself at least 2 chapters of the Old Testaments a day and 2 chapters of the New Testament a day.
YAHUSHUA worshiped YAHUAH on Shabbath, Mark 1:2, Mark 6:2, Luke 4:16, Luke 4:31,on Matthew 12:1-13, Mark 2:23 thru 3:5, he explains how doing good on Shabbath is OK and rebuke the Pharisees all the false doctrines about the Shabbath they were teaching and doing. On Matthew 24, YAHUSHUA talks about the end of the world, a future event, and prays is not on a Shabbath (Matthew24:20). YAHUSHUA was crucified and passed away on Friday and Rested on Shabbath, and went back to work on Sunday. Shabbath was instituted on the creation of the world before any jews ever existed (Genesis 2:1-3), Shabbath was made for man not man for the Shabbath (Mark 2:27). The scripture says Shabbath was made for man.

As long as we're born again, the only "works" that we need to be doing is living every day in true repentance (actively choosing to fight against our flesh with the Holy Spirit).
People often criticize my "turning from sin" as works based salvation and I really hope you agree that it's 100% necessary alongside having true faith in what Jesus did for us in paying our fine.
Yeah bro all we need is to become born again which comes through true repentance (change of mind to belief) once we do that we are secured. The Holy Spirit now convicts us to walk in holiness (Titus 2:11-15) but this will be based on one’s obedience. Obedient or not that person is still saved but will either gain or lose heavenly rewards and blessings here on earth.
The Lord is near the brokenhearted; He saves those crushed in spirit. 18 The LORD is close to those whose hearts have been broken. < What scripture teaches. Noah was emotional, jeremiah was emotional, Abraham was emotional, Paul was emotional, Peter was emotional. I would argue the most biblical churches are the churches that actually teach the scriptures. :)

Love is walking in obedience following His Commandments. Verses 5 and 6 focus on the commandment to "love one another" (2 John 1:5). Love includes, "that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment…" (2 John 1:6). Love for God is closely connected with obedience to the truth.
Paul compares himself to an athlete in training to compete in the games of the day. He competes not for his salvation, but for an eternal crown that involves recognition from Christ for all those he has led to salvation. That's why he sets aside his freedoms and practices self-control. He hopes to receive this prize and not to be disqualified by sinful selfishness before he gets to the end of his life (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).
Brother David, you have wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, I can see it. Please continue walking with obedience and love. I thank the Most High for your life and your ministry - that you are opening everyone's eyes to the Truth.

I used to be Catholic however I came to Christianity because I like to go directly to God, there’s no burn candles or confessing to a priest (which r fantastic ppl but) the few bible book in Catholicism kind of contradicts the Christian Bible which I can just pray directly to God no human involved

You're really easy to pay attention to. I'm still working on my ability to speak well performatively. I'm writing like orthodox Cristian, I agree 100 % we are not saved by confessions, or Eucharistic, but those who do the will of Father, but is this bad? To have big communion, where you seeking God, Look at King David, a lot of time he said sing to Lord, worship him, give glory to God. But also he said it's not the main in the Law. For example, when you are a volunteer or serve in church for the sake of Almighty, it's like when you are fighting greed it can be your purification process. But I agree that most say orthodoxy is the only way, or Catholicism, no only way is Jesus, have a blessed day

Hey David serious question, when in deep prayer with God, is it ok in your opinion to cry while repenting for sins? It’s something that’s happened to me because of how the spirit has convicted my heart to a state of repentance and transforming me into a born again believer. I don’t shed tears regularly but it has happened in my journey with Christ. Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

I've landed at going to an Orthodox church, but not becoming Orthodox. It's because I like the sanctuary. I just consider it going to a "holy temple." In it, not of it.
Some of the most words from Jesus was Take heed, do not be deceived, and those who have an ear let them hear. Holy Spirit is screaming that in this hour and Matthew 25 about the 10 virgins, 5 full of oil and 5 not.
