Same. If you are not putting down other people of the same gender as you to make yourself look better and receive attention then you are not a pick me.
However take any chance to lift someone up who you fell comfortable talking to. I’m good at complimenting my friends or people online but not so much with people who I see in person but don’t know very well. I’ve been trying to work on that. It’s scary but it feels good to make someone else happy.
This makes me so comfortable all because i have alot of friends who are boys and i usually wear tomboy clothes and i always play video games. Thank you clara this has made me really happy about myself ❤️

Thank you so much, this girl in my class bullies me because I hang out with boys, she puts other girls down and never complements any one. She has a crush on one of my guy friends and I am competition to her so she puts me down even though i dont like them. So thanks Clara, also she calls me a Pick me when shes the only pick me. I told her to research the definition so she will figure out shes the only pick me. Shes honestly a toxic b, but shes the least of my worries ❤❤
This was a much needed video for everyone to understand that a girl can't be called a pick me for her genuine choices to not wear make-up or play video games etc. A pick me gorl is ANY girl that puts a woman down for attention
God, I needed these words, I am the typical girl who grew up surrounded by boys (my cousins and brother) so I tend to be more fond of "masculine" things, and since women tend to put you down, I have come to think that boys may be best friends than some girls (Still most of my friends are girls), but I always see that girls like me are called "pick me" and it makes me a little sad to see how other girls (mostly my friends) talk about things like makeup and I don't understand a word they say, so thank you, it made me feel so much better 💓
Thank you , I don’t wear make up and I play video games but I am NOT a pick me girl, I’m friends with many girls and boys and I don’t see girls as competition. I love you Clara thank you for making me feel more comfortable and confident about my body ❤❤❤
I gotta send this to my friend. Came up to me in school one day and asked me this question and I couldn’t explain the difference fully but this would explain it to her
I constantly get called a pick me girl. I have lots of guy friends, even a boyfriend. Yes, I have friends that are girls too, but I have more guy friends. There was this one dumb girl named Jackie and she called me a pick me for getting mad at my brother for calling me a nickname I hate and apparently saying “ugh.” I was cutting myself for years, but when I met my boyfriend I got so much better. He honestly saved me. I dress kind of tomboy-ish sometimes. I dress girly sometimes. But I’m not a pick me. And all my friends can agree on that. I don’t like too much attention, I only like attention from the ones I love the most. There’s this girl in my class who is an actual pick me, she tries to talk to every single boy in class and rolls her eye at every girl that she talks to- like bro???
Hey that’s awesome you’re in a great place. I’d like to politely point out the whole point of the video is saying, “pick me” is viewing other women as competiton. Not about being tomboy or girly or how many boys someone talks to. Pick me is someone who can’t be friends with their own gender. I hope that helps.
Thank you so much for saying this! A lot of girls I know would call me a pick me just because I would always show up wearing baggy clothes (it was usually pajamas💀) and no makeup, and most of my friends were guys. but that’s just cuz I’m tired asf, and all the girls were so mean-like-😭
Thank you for the reassurance ❤️ I’m always really scared of my actions because I’m afraid of being seen as a pick me when in reality I’m just trying to live my life
I love, I genuinely love giving people compliments in the hallway, people, I don't know because I know I always feel so happy when I get a compliment from a stranger, because it doesn't happen very often, and I love giving other people that joy
I honestly really needed this, whenever i see a vid with a pick me girl saying they dont wear makeup i feel like a pick me and i constantly try to explain to myself that im not a pick me for not wearing make up i really loved this and it helped me be more happy with being myself
Personally, I almost never wear makeup except for theatre. Part of the reason is because I have no clue where my makeup is, but it's mostly because I don't think to or see the point of it. If I'm being totally honest, it has nothing to do with how every girl is beautiful and should be proud of their natural appearance. I am very self-conscious at times about how I look. It's because if you give me art supplies (which makeup more or less is, just for your face) I am going to want to mess around and experiment with it. Eyeshadow and lipstick you can do that with. The other stuff? Not so much.
Thank you so much for this Clara. I’ve been called a pick-me girl so much before because I’m a girl and don’t wear makeup because I like to be natural. But that’s just me, it just kinda feels right- 😭 Tysm for this video i feel way better
Same, but people at school call me trans or a boy because i look like one. I have a broad jawline that make it look that way. People at my school make fun of me, even though I was born a girl and stayed a girl, I have never once stated that I was trans or liked girls. Most assume I am a boy because of the way I dress. I go with hoodies because they are comfortable. I have curly short hair and I dont like sports. I like running or cross country, I am interested in makeup, unfortunately I'm not confident enough to wear it yet. Some girls at school are trying to convince other girls at school that I'm a lesbian when I just try to be nice. 😢 Because of that bullies have been purposly telling others to stay away. Its so embarrassing. I just want everyone to know I'm a girl and let it stay that way.
@@laylovin homophobic or super gay, i hate that we all stereotype what’s for guys or girls and what’s considered “gay” or not. take for example people getting mad over harry styles wearing a dress because he’s not “gay enough” to wear it. like, why do we have to attach that to just an article of clothing? it’s so contradictory when you say “clothes have no gender” one minute, and then go shit on people on twitter for looking too masculine or feminine. and also, please don’t let those people get into your head. (i feel like i’m not using the best wording while typing this so take it with a grain of salt)
My friend talked to me about how she felt like a pick-me girl because she mentioned that she was on a diet and didn't have dessert with some other friends. I was heartbroken that just because she didn't feel confident in herself and wanted to be thinner caused her to think people would dislike her. Thanks for making this video, because I feel like a lot of girls are called pick-me girls for genuinely thinking they're ugly or stupid.
As a women I to was and am like this and let me tell you it was a pain in the ass, people will always call be gay or a boy in school and girls did have a crush on me. That’s when people would spread rumors about me saying I would date those girls or that I was lying about my personality. There was a girl, who called me "a pick me" for hanging out with a group of guys. She assumed that I crave for their attention. I stared at her. And said: "I can't love people as romantical partners and it ruined a few of my previous relationships. If you love one of my male friends - go on, pick any of them, I don't mind." She got extremely embarrassed in a matter of seconds. We're on good terms now.
This was a very important message you spread throughout the video... Thank you!!💯👏🔝🤩 I used to be a pick me, because I was having a hard time getting along with my older sister and we were fighting... But now that we grew into adults, we started to appreciate and care for each other more!! We had each other and this boosted our confidence to get along with guys as well!
Traumatized is a bit of a stretch. Most pick-mes just have poor self esteem and put down other women to feel better about themselves. But for the most part I agree
@@StevieShaunice Low self esteem doesn't always stem from trauma. You don't have to be traumatized to have it. I'm just saying that "pick-me" behavior isn't always developed from external conflicts. And implying that is just wrong in many cases.
i know a pick me girl. she starts “fake fights” with our teacher on the dumbest things and always ends up being the only one wrong. she texted my friend and called her living head ache. she also does soooo much for attention and always puts others down. she’s the worst and most annoying kid in my class.
I remember when I was called a pick me by an actual pick me. I made friends with a nice boy, and the girl joined. She said "That missy needs to leave" And brought me down, and she made herself look better in front of him. Then they called me a pick me, so did the boy because the girl made me look bad. It felt so bad, but I'm glad i dumped them. I developed androphobia ever since then and I distance myself from boys.
Tbh I don't like being friends with guys not that i dont wanna be a pick me or called one its just like that in my relgion. If a girl is a pick me we dont call her that, we call her a "hoe/bitch". Pick me's also get spanked in my relgion.

Okay but why are TOMBOYS just so sweet because most of my friends are and they are always like “HEY you mess with my girls you go through me!” And they are like the soldiers for woman
A lot of people call me a pick me, except I’m a girly girl who is always in support of other girls. I love uplifting others, seeing someone become confident is something that always makes me happy. But people still call me a pick me and I don’t understand why?
@@HarryPotterandmaraundersThat literally makes no sense... a pick me is someone who puts down other women for sake of male validation/just to be "different"! Having a sense of style is fine and doesn't correlate unless you're putting others down!

I have trouble complimenting other people. It's not because I don't want to or think they're not worthy of it, it's because I just can't. my love language just isn't words of affirmation. My love language is physical touch. I hug my friends, don't tell them their shoes are cute (sometimes I do). I do compliment people but I feel like it doesn't do anything or they don't appreciate it when I do.
This is so true for me as well- I also just have a really hard time with words when talking to people including friend(partly because I’m neurodivergent) so i rarely compliment people but I show my platonic love for them in other ways.
My best friend tried to befriend a new girl, was super sweet to her. Few days ago the new girl and some guys sat in our row for church service. Shes always loud and apparently is even when shes trying to whisper because my friend clearly heard her say "You're going to make me sit next to HER?" That girl does not realize nobody likes her at our youth group, she a pick me and we all see it expect for two other pick me girls, the only one who really tried to be her friend she was rude to. I almost fought her. My friend was ready to cry, she was so so hurt
LITERALLLLYYYYY Like I don't wear makeup or fancy clothes on a regular basis just because I'm lazy lol, but I *love* complimenting my girlfriends on their fashion skills! and I'll let them put makeup on me in class or wtv cuz it's a fun bonding experience! and when I *do* put more effort into how I look, it's usually for a special occasion or something, and I *love* going all out then. It's a case-by-case basis guys. I know people who wear Gucci dresses every day and I know people who's entire wardrobe consists of hoodies. And you wanna know something? They all *rock* their looks 😘 So if anyone's bothered to read this far... 😅 Rock your look too, boo! Wear what makes *you* feel good, and that confidence will show ♡

You literally cutted off a BIG part of my anxiety. I though i was such a pick me for playing fortnite, saying boy stuff, and having friendships with men. Tysm!!!
Omg this is so true so one of my “friends” that i am now not friends with called my best friend a pick me even though my best friend compliments, doesn’t seek for attention, and doesn’t really have that much male friends
Thank you for this. I grew up with two brothers so I was used to play video games and kinda act like a tomboy. Also, being the youngest child (and pretty short) I was kinda used to being babied. So while I was in junior high, I would only hang out with the boys (they even called me dude). I did have a crush on one of them, so honestly I sometimes think I was kind of a pick me. I mean I wasn't forcing myself to act like "one of the boys", it was really natural, but still - I did take advantage of this status and thought it was cool not to be like "the other girls". Even tho I was young I'm kind of ashamed now because the boys eventually got sick of it and even rejected me at some point (we got reconciliated after tho). But I never tried to put other women down. I guess I did have stereotypes about the girls around me - but I would not try to make them look bad or anything, ESPECIALLY after I got humbled. So this video really helps me to accept my tomboy personality and realise the line between pick me and just tomboy.
Someone I know always says im a so called "pick me" because I complain about me being fat or growing certain parts at only age 7. Like you said, a pick me is when you bring someone down for a man's attention, people need to think before they talk.

Our class had an essay due and me my friend who I’m gonna call “B” and “A” B is my bestie A is the pick me. Well we had an essay and B did amazing she got a 90 I got a 70-80 and A got a 60 she got her results before me and she said “Oh no!! I hope you did bad so that my test score can be better” I was shocked when A said that. anther time this happened I had got a new haircut and everyone loved it but Ofcourse A didn’t she kept saying how I looked “bigger” with it and that I looked like Ron weisley from Harry Potter. She always hangs out with some boy she likes even though she’s been rejected many times.

I have the same thing happen to me but I’m more friends with other females

I agree, once I commented under a video: "I'm not a pick me because I don't wear makeup, I just hate the feeling of it" and another person commented: "Yes you are"

Tysm for this video Clara❤, I’ve always been called a pick me for wearing “boy” clothes and roughhousing, OR knowing stuff about building or cars, that I knew bc my dad taught me!?, and people would say “Ohhhh ur a pick me bc u don’t wear makeup!” so I would show them I’m wearing makeup and then they would be like “Ugh, ur using makeup?, it’s not good 4 women🙄” like- what😀, but once again tysm for this vid❤
Thank you for saying this,I’m so tired of tomboyish girls getting called pick mes for no reason 😭
i’m so glad you pointed this out! pick me is a personality/mind set not a certain aesthetic. love you always Clara💞💓
THANKS YOU FOR SAYING THESE!!! all my friends call me a pick me and I was soooo freaking angry and sad with them!! I will send them this vid now.
'You're not a nerd just because you're study and reading:)'
I relate to this whole paragraph lol
Relate too
Just ignore it honestly. Men and women have different definitions of what a pick me is, and the female definition is actually quite pick me lmao.
Thank you , I don’t wear make up and I play video games but I am NOT a pick me girl, I’m friends with many girls and boys and I don’t see girls as competition. I love you Clara thank you for making me feel more comfortable and confident about my body ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this video
love you 💙🦋
Do whatever makes you happy gurl! Don’t let others get to you
I gotta send this to my friend. Came up to me in school one day and asked me this question and I couldn’t explain the difference fully but this would explain it to her
This is the best description of a pick me girl that I've ever seen
Yep
I’m glad you found someone who helped you get through that.
Competition in eachother or in leu of men
Thank you so much for saying this! A lot of girls I know would call me a pick me just because I would always show up wearing baggy clothes (it was usually pajamas💀) and no makeup, and most of my friends were guys. but that’s just cuz I’m tired asf, and all the girls were so mean-like-😭
Thank you for the reassurance ❤️
I’m always really scared of my actions because I’m afraid of being seen as a pick me when in reality I’m just trying to live my life
this woman is the inspiration this generation needs. Thank you for helping me build confidence in myself.
Dont listen to others opinion. If you are a good person with good intentions then dont worry for a second with others opinions.
Because of that bullies have been purposly telling others to stay away.
Men and women have different definitions of a pick me girl. The irony is that the female version is pretty pick me.
As a women I to was and am like this and let me tell you it was a pain in the ass, people will always call be gay or a boy in school and girls did have a crush on me. That’s when people would spread rumors about me saying I would date those girls or that I was lying about my personality. I lost “friends” and it fucking sucked and I still get messed like this in middle school. It doesn’t matter if you are a tomboy, play video games or if you like the same gender none of that matters, what matters is you and that is final.
Love men and women the way they are💙
My neighbour who is a woman used to hate me playing sports and her behavior around me made me lose confidence, you helped me gain it, so thank you so much!❤
I love to see people talking and pointing out the differences between a tomboy and a pick me thank you 💖💖💖
Yes absolutely true, ty for this!!
I honestly think ppl should be themselves after all ur living for urself and ppl who just judge ppl like that is just not good, be urself and be genuine and nice to ppl after all we are all human and we have more in common than we think. Thanks clara for this video it truly means a lot!
There was a girl, who called me "a pick me" for hanging out with a group of guys. She assumed that I crave for their attention.
I stared at her. And said: "I can't love people as romantical partners and it ruined a few of my previous relationships. If you love one of my male friends - go on, pick any of them, I don't mind."
She got extremely embarrassed in a matter of seconds. We're on good terms now.
oh!
being an aromantic ace hanging out with a group of guys:
This was a very important message you spread throughout the video... Thank you!!💯👏🔝🤩
I used to be a pick me, because I was having a hard time getting along with my older sister and we were fighting... But now that we grew into adults, we started to appreciate and care for each other more!! We had each other and this boosted our confidence to get along with guys as well!
THANK YOU! a woman can play video games and not wear dresses and not be a pick me. thank for clarifying for all the confused people out there
we should support pick me, cuz they are like that because of being traumatized by society. they behave terribly but need support.
Good point. It can be difficult though. I want to help but it hurts my mental health trying to do that.
Traumatized is a bit of a stretch. Most pick-mes just have poor self esteem and put down other women to feel better about themselves. But for the most part I agree
@@mochaismilk it's also about injuries, but you are right
No wtf? U want girls to put down other girls and wanna support the true pick me girls?
I really needed this. I have been calekd a pick me for YEARS because of my relationship with boys, and people wont stop making romours abt crushes, boys and me, and I am so happy soembody finally notices how not all girls and tomboys are pick me's.
Honestly this girl inspires me a lot and she’s probably one of my favorite people and she has such a beautiful soul and she’s so beautiful aswell and I love her confidence so much💛💛
Clara has made my life better
Okay but why are TOMBOYS just so sweet because most of my friends are and they are always like “HEY you mess with my girls you go through me!” And they are like the soldiers for woman
A lot of people call me a pick me, except I’m a girly girl who is always in support of other girls. I love uplifting others, seeing someone become confident is something that always makes me happy. But people still call me a pick me and I don’t understand why?
Cuz people are jealous of you and your personality, probably
I think if you change your whole personality your a pick me not if you like masculine things
because people don’t know what a pick me is and they’re dumb.
@@illuminaticonfirmed1389hi o just wanted to ask if you are replying to @someone.fromsomwhere
@@HarryPotterandmaraundersThat literally makes no sense... a pick me is someone who puts down other women for sake of male validation/just to be "different"! Having a sense of style is fine and doesn't correlate unless you're putting others down!
Clara thankyou so much!
In the other video lot of them were generalized us with those ones who are just tryna follow the trend when tomboy isnt even a damn style at first place thank-you so much!! 😭😭😭✨❤️
Girls at school call me a pick me all the time and i never know how to respond. This helps me realize that everthing they say about me is completely wrong. Thank you 💕✨
You are literally my idol for being this much strong against mean comments.❤Lovee youuu so much clara dear!!!(even god doesn't know how much😂😂)
I have trouble complimenting other people.
I once smacked my guy friends back and the girls just looked at me and they were just waiting for me to give a smug look 😭
My best friend tried to befriend a new girl, was super sweet to her. Few days ago the new girl and some guys sat in our row for church service. Shes always loud and apparently is even when shes trying to whisper because my friend clearly heard her say "You're going to make me sit next to HER?"
That girl does not realize nobody likes her at our youth group, she a pick me and we all see it expect for two other pick me girls, the only one who really tried to be her friend she was rude to. I almost fought her.
My friend was ready to cry, she was so so hurt
LITERALLLLYYYYY
Like I don't wear makeup or fancy clothes on a regular basis just because I'm lazy lol, but I *love* complimenting my girlfriends on their fashion skills! and I'll let them put makeup on me in class or wtv cuz it's a fun bonding experience! and when I *do* put more effort into how I look, it's usually for a special occasion or something, and I *love* going all out then.
It's a case-by-case basis guys. I know people who wear Gucci dresses every day and I know people who's entire wardrobe consists of hoodies.
And you wanna know something?
They all *rock* their looks 😘
So if anyone's bothered to read this far... 😅
Rock your look too, boo! Wear what makes *you* feel good, and that confidence will show ♡
This is so right, one time when I was in school i got into a school for people that more smart and when i said that to her she said that i cheated and make fun of me
I used to be called a pick me for doing all that but the person who called me that got karma now half the whole school doesn’t like her because of me she always wanted big attention when I had it then called me spoiled, pick me, annoying, and centre of attention now she has caused so much damage to me I’ll never be mentally fine.

I really needed this :)
STORY TIME!!!
My “ Friend” is a pick me she always says rude things to me to make me down and even admitted to it once in science class.
Thanks! You taught me what my parents couldn't teach me. 😊
your amazing. Just remember that.
THANK YOU! You are a life saver and a good figure for us to look up upon! I’ve been called a “Pick me” before and I did not like it. I could never imagine you as a pick me, you are good at acting like one but I know you’d never actually do that to someone else
