Yesterday I've beaten Opium Trail on brutal with the smuggler :D he's the best governor in my opinion edit: I beat it Opium Trail with all governors on brutal including you, Tank commander. You were pretty good on this map, since the mountains were separated so insurgents make me lose less reputation.
Pretty high amount of hostile people (30k+, second place, after *Distant Steppe* with 40k+) Very high insurgent attack rate (after Azure Dam - they rapidly try to wreck convoys) Good roads - only mountains do not have Main Roads or Highways (the only map with this feature, other maps do have some rural zones *without* Main Roads or Highways) A Tank Depot - found on any zone except Mountain zones (since these zones are only zones without good roads) Underground Caves - picks out a lot of time to terminate insurgents in remote zones
The hardest map to stabilize in my opinion, the people of the region are quite demanding, lots of mountains, and insurgents are hard to control, by far my most hated map
yall im about to play this mission what should I expect the soundtrack already gives me the chills and I can feel its gonna be a difficult map to deal with I've saved my progress for a while
Tank commander on this map feels like a custom made challenge. Although some youtubers did demonstrate that you can beat even mega-brutal on this map with just one tank you loot early in the mission iirc. I have no idea how many retries that takes though :D
@@Annokh it's easier than you think it is but luck is also important. Keeping the Insurgents in remote areas is so easy with tanks but sometimes they're going to have insurgent camps that can attack rural areas and cities so either use airstrikes and drones or get some roads to respond to those threats faster
I am currently grinding for that too. All governors on all maps takes a really long time. I got bored and beat Azure dam with the GENERAL on MEGA-BRUTAL just out of pure boredom first try lol. How I did it? Select private donor (or tax collector)+ Instructor + engineer and when you start the game buy effective procurement, intel gathering 1 and 2, media 1 (2 later), dam construction and that big support level increase thing with dam construction, one national unit, the garrisons and the civil assistance before the insurgents attack. The garrisons civil assistance is ridiculously op and beats the general's weakness which is funding civilian shit. You will have to later on, just get a good head start and you got this. Also I recommend restarting the game until you get that garrison in that big city because you play on mega-brutal you start with intel on you hq only and you can't place a garrison on the hq zone, so it will pick a random one. Strategy: Don't focus on the dam, accept strikes, etc but keep it at around 10-20 points before collapse. When you get 70% stability you can start working on it. The reason I do this is because insurgents are a minor threat at taking over zones when they "change tactics" to destroy the dam and building the dam early is expensive as hell. As usual, protect cities, make your troops antagonize less. I won without drones or airstrikes they don't help a lot on this map for that much amount of money.
POV: You have the Tank Commander, but you also see tanks on the rebels.

I like using tank commander because I feel powerful and badass but he isn't very effective at keeping insurgents away
