Great print! Quick tip if you take a full sheet of sandpaper and spray glue it to a flat surface. You can then sand the joining surfaces to be a perfect match. Its a woodworking tip that transfers over real well. Good luck on your future builds.
We had went on a field trip to the factory that created the 3D printers it was really cool we got to see the prototypes before they were created and it was awesome.
Awesome!!! Looks fantastic! Great idea with the magnets. Really glad you enjoyed the print. Keep up the great work. Stay posted for future models. I have some things coming down pipe that I bet our geek friends would love. GEEK ON!!!! Thanks for the shout. Exciting to see it all come together.
+Uncle Jessy not a problem. I love bringing content to all my geek friends out in the world. I hope i can keep making and designing content for the world to print. :)
+Uncle Jessy can you sell these? Like make them and sell them? Also could you link the website where your selling them (like eBay) so I could buy one because there's no way in hell I can make this
+Uncle Jessy so all we have to do is download the file (which is free I believe?) send it to someone with a 3D printer and boom !! We have a nice batman cowl ?
That is so cool! I can't wait to see it after you paint it black! Something that would be cool would be to take a little knife or drill and add some deep lines in it so it looks battle-damaged. You could add like scratches and stuff.
i bought one of these prints from a friend and i plan on smoothing and finishing it.. and plan on mounting it on my life cast and sculting the rest of the cowl then make a ureathane copy
I am very inexperienced when it comes to 3d printing, and I was just curious if any of you knew how big a printer you would need to create something like this. Specific product names would be appreciated.
Obviously I'm late to comment but something moderate. Really you can have a tiny one you just need to print it in sections/layers. It doesn't all need to be printed at once especially since one mistake in a massive print is harder to fix than just printing a new tiny layer. Less wasted stuff
this so cool. caint wait for 3d printed thor hammer with description of who ever can lift this hammer if they be worthy power thor. maybe batram. i wonder what other super hero themed stuff 3d printed
I wish he would do a captain America helmet. Buy the way I'm a big Batfreak myself. And becoming a big captain America fan as well. Cool, project. I've been seriously considering cutting my latex cowl to look similar to your helmet, so I don't tear my ears off when putting it on and off.
Hey man the files for this cowl are very, VERY small. Even when I export out from Meshmixer simplify 3d makes its like .03 mm how did you get sizes big enough to fit you? what is a good starting point?
Love watching your stuff. Been learning quite a bit. Wanna print one of these, just not sure what percentage to scale each part for a full size. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the great stuff. 🙂
+Grayson The Overcomer I put the file together to actually make a silicone replica for myself but need to do more research on how to before spending the cheddar.
I purchased the cr-10 printer and wanted to know what material/filament you would suggest for building armor pieces similar to both this and iron man armors as well as what software you'd suggest. thanks for your time and keep up the great work.
+Uncle Jessy hi my name is Timmy Woolley and I love batman and I am doing a batman costume/cosplay and I love your batman cowl could you possibly selling it I will pay 20 or 30 please I really need a cowl nice job on videos
Hello I tried downloading the file from MyMiniFactory but it wouldn't download as a stl, only a document. Ive never used MyMiniFactory before and tried another file but it did the same is there something I need to do?
So I take it you pulled the individual pieces into like meshmixer, put them together and then re-sliced them so that you had only 3 pieces and such so that you had the back piece for the magnets, etc?
Hey, what 3D printer are you using? My large bed printer(Printrbot Metal Plus) is about to die and I'm shopping for something new. I want to be able to do masks with a little cutting as possible.
I know I'm a bit late, but did you 3D print the dark knight chest armor behind you?? And if so, where did you get the files? I've been looking everywhere for them. Thanks in advance!
hey i have a small printer and i was using 123d design but i need to know how to make it into smaller pieces so i can print it please show me i don't know what i'am doing and i realy want this cowl pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
You need to download and install netfab basic. It's free to use and your can rescale and cut Stl files into smaller parts. I used that A LOT with my makerbot mini which had s 4x4x4 build area
quick question for sizing the helmet (before printing). what would be the best way to measure me in order to make sure the helmet would be a nice snug fit like how you get yours?
I would put some filler in the gap between the ear and face piece then sand it also paint all the parts a black closest to the color of batmans cowl and that will give it a similar glossy look
Hello, I'm wondering what size is your head? I would like to print one for myself but not sure if I need to figure out how to scale the size down first. My head is around 22.5", which I think is on the smaller size.
I use simplify3d for slicing and printing. I didn't design this mask but I believe the guy who did used zbrush. I've used 123d before for other projects and really liked it. They have a great iPad app as well
you should spray paint it Black or Dark Gray!
that's what I was thinking
Dark DARK Gray
lol
Or create from dark filament? Carbon fiber would be sweet!
I love your video production quality man. Besides the mask being awesome. Amazing editing and just overall great video. Keep it up.
+A Pyro Design thanks man. Nothing but love goes into these.
Ikr! Awesome! The songs, time lapses, nice mic and perfect camers
the front of the mask reminded me of the joker batman, it was beautiful. thanks for sharing.

+TheCreatorx3d Can't thank you enough for making such a sweet file. It's honestly damn near perfect.
+Uncle Jessy not a problem. I love bringing content to all my geek friends out in the world. I hope i can keep making and designing content for the world to print. :)
Congrates on finding the magnets from 2 or 3 years ago. I can't find crap I bought 2 or 3 days ago. lol
Hahaha funny enough I was just digging through a junk drawer and found another set
+Uncle Jessy can you sell these? Like make them and sell them? Also could you link the website where your selling them (like eBay) so I could buy one because there's no way in hell I can make this

You can get yourself a nice 3D printer for under $500 now. Start saving and make yourself one! The file kicks ass

You rock man using Pla plastic instead of hight priced filament
i bought one of these prints from a friend and i plan on smoothing and finishing it.. and plan on mounting it on my life cast and sculting the rest of the cowl then make a ureathane copy
Jonny harper sounds like a plan! I need to learn how to mold/cast
I am very inexperienced when it comes to 3d printing, and I was just curious if any of you knew how big a printer you would need to create something like this. Specific product names would be appreciated.
Good question. I'm curious too. Been trying to research but can't find the right info
Obviously I'm late to comment but something moderate. Really you can have a tiny one you just need to print it in sections/layers. It doesn't all need to be printed at once especially since one mistake in a massive print is harder to fix than just printing a new tiny layer. Less wasted stuff

Maybe somehow you could add LEDs in the eyes and just simply paint black. Great video!!
I wish he would do a captain America helmet. Buy the way I'm a big Batfreak myself. And becoming a big captain America fan as well. Cool, project. I've been seriously considering cutting my latex cowl to look similar to your helmet, so I don't tear my ears off when putting it on and off.
Dude, I actually printed a cap helmet a few months back. I need to dig out the footage and start working on that one again!

thaaaaaat was awesome! I would have loved to see the rest of the process and the finished product! so cool :)
Loving the videos great tips
I have a file for the full batfleck cowl. Question I have is what settings did you use for yours? Will be printing on a Cr-10.
LarrisolB I believe for the full cowl I scaled it to 107% on the cr-10 if you have Facebook grab one of the profiles form the files section
Uncle Jessy where do I find the files section on your page?
dang ! that IS so epic !!
ok coool man i respect your job
Gatien ISMAR no worries man. Make sure to checkout the video description. I'm giving away one of the masks. Giveaway ends tomorrow!

Hey man the files for this cowl are very, VERY small. Even when I export out from Meshmixer simplify 3d makes its like .03 mm how did you get sizes big enough to fit you? what is a good starting point?

I´m Batman.. nice job, dude... nice
Thanks man!
I wish to 3D print some day :) how much cost your printer??
Jesse what model 3D printing machine do you use?
Jerry Boales right now my go to machine is the CR-10 by creality
I wonder if you could use it as a mold for a latex mask.
Totally could. I might attempt that down the road after i get this one cleaned up
+Uncle Jessy if so, please post a video! I've been looking for ways to get ahold of quality latex cowls. I'm a huge batman fan as well.
+Grayson The Overcomer I put the file together to actually make a silicone replica for myself but need to do more research on how to before spending the cheddar.
What about the flex material?
Tpu
so cool
Are lower cost 3D printers worth the investment?
Invention Therapy checkout my CR-10 3d printer initial impressions. It's under $500 and I totally think it's worth picking up as a starter printer
Awesome!😎👍👍
I purchased the cr-10 printer and wanted to know what material/filament you would suggest for building armor pieces similar to both this and iron man armors as well as what software you'd suggest. thanks for your time and keep up the great work.
I subscribed!
Hello! Is there anyway to get the files sliced the way yours is?

This is honestly so awesome dude!! Where do you even get those 3D printers? I really want one!!
Amazon haha. There is one that I'm looking to try out from monoprice. It's $350 which is a crazy good starting price for the print bed size
Shit man thats heaps good! Thanks a ton!!
Wow that looks like it came out very smooth. Nicely done. What layer height did you do it at?
wow! soooooooooooooooo cool!!!
Man nice video what 3D printer you are using to do the mask and i so your Thor mask video and you recommend the CR10 and if the CR10 is easy to use
Great video. I'm going to start on this one right now. ;)
Mark Tuttle sweet. It's an awesome file to work with. I scaled mine to 107%
Hey, what 3D printer are you using? My large bed printer(Printrbot Metal Plus) is about to die and I'm shopping for something new. I want to be able to do masks with a little cutting as possible.
thanks man
Did you scale it up to make it fit your head? because i found the original file is too small
Hi! Where you can buy 3d models of the masks?
yea hi my name is Justin Harrison I wanted to know what is the link for the different designs for a 3d print of Batman's cowl
I know I'm a bit late, but did you 3D print the dark knight chest armor behind you?? And if so, where did you get the files? I've been looking everywhere for them. Thanks in advance!
Are you gonna show it fully completed with paint?
th-cam.com/video/Vubl20vKZyk/w-d-xo.html
you'd make a great old batman
Oldman. My fav batman is older grumpy batman. Thought affleck did a great job pulling that off. Now I want to see a much older retired Batman
Pretty slick. How do you like your 3D printer? I am thinking about upgrading mine.
How much does the 3-d printer cost
You could've done it arkham knight style too where he only takes off the front part of the cowl
Dear Uncle Jessy, Your project splits the mask into three parts. How did you alter the files? do you have a download?
hey i have a small printer and i was using 123d design but i need to know how to make it into smaller pieces so i can print it please show me i don't know what i'am doing and i realy want this cowl pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
You need to download and install netfab basic. It's free to use and your can rescale and cut Stl files into smaller parts. I used that A LOT with my makerbot mini which had s 4x4x4 build area
How do you slice your stuff into separate pieces like that?
Amazing 👌🏻
Thanks man. Hopefully we hear about some new DC games at E3 next week! Unjustice 2
what material is the batman cowl made out of?
I'm a huge batman fan too!
quick question for sizing the helmet (before printing). what would be the best way to measure me in order to make sure the helmet would be a nice snug fit like how you get yours?
Gabriel Cirtwell I am wondering the same thing. Did you ever find out how?
When using the slicing software did you use sim3D or Cura? Also what filament did you use?
Hey @Uncle Jessy what 3d printer do you have!?
BQ Witbox - love it
Love the apron. Breaking bad haha
What brand of 3D printer did you use to make the mask? I am looking at getting one.
I would put some filler in the gap between the ear and face piece then sand it also paint all the parts a black closest to the color of batmans cowl and that will give it a similar glossy look
You know it. Should have an update video up this weekend!
+Uncle Jessy sweet cant wait i think it will look very close to the comic version and very badass
Hi. I want to know how can I get my face size to make a custom mask to fit?
and what scale should i print it in thanks
Hello, I'm wondering what size is your head? I would like to print one for myself but not sure if I need to figure out how to scale the size down first. My head is around 22.5", which I think is on the smaller size.
Hello. Did you upscale the model in order for you to print it? If so, which scale did you use?
I scaled it up to 107% my head is just a little smaller than 24" around maybe 23.75
+Uncle Jessy thanks :)
Awesome work! What scale did you use to print it? Cause in the file looks pretty small :/
Jessy, how did you go about scaling the mask to your head?
Hmmm maybe I will make a video about that
man looks great and what 3d software do you use because i am just starting out ant i would like to know a good 3d printing app
I use simplify3d for slicing and printing. I didn't design this mask but I believe the guy who did used zbrush. I've used 123d before for other projects and really liked it. They have a great iPad app as well
did you ever add a hinge working on a similar red hood helmet and trying to decide what to use for it
Thats awesome! What kind of 3D printer did you use to make this?
BQ Witbox
+Uncle Jessy it's all about the glue gun XD
