My favorite of the Viva demos. Just heard the album right now and was pleasantly surprised when I recognized the lyrics. Had no expectations of the “old coldplay” to make an appearance on a very clearly pop album but I’m so happy they came back to this one. Hope they revisit ‘A View From the Top’ someday too.

Can you believe how amazing this demo would be if it was completed in the style that the rest of the Viva la Vida album was in? You can hear parts of it with the same styling, and I think fully fleshing them out would be incredible (especially if Chris ever remembered the middle eights to the song). The finished product on MOTS was pretty good, but the Viva version would have shattered minds with how good it would have been.
The combination of the chords and the melody starting at 1:01 is so powerful... I don't think they managed to make it sound as good as that in POTP, but still it's a good song to me :)
@jpnsage They probably abandoned this song and recycled parts for Moving to Mars, similar to parts of Wedding Bells that can be heard in Christmas Lights
