Was there from Aug 13 to 20 in 1981 with the Royal Dutch Navy. I remember drinking strawberry daiquiris in a nice restaurant in Harbour Place and I had a cartoonist draw my picture (still have it) I had a great time in Baltimore and was almost late for duty on the day my ship left for sea. I met some wonderful people there and it's a very nice memory. Would love to come back one day.

Those copter shots were me holding golden rods out vacant door while Eric Kunckie shot out opposite vacant door. City police copter forced us to land as he thought people were scared of copter, then we were allowed back up at higher altitude.

I was there that day. Joyce Jefferson interviewed my dad and he was on the news. Back in 95, they did a 15 yr anniversary and i saw him, and every year i check, but nothing since.

I got my first Job while I was in High School at Harborplace in 1987 at Swenson Family Restaurant serving Ice Cream. It’s now Hooters. This was my favorite place to hang out with my Friends and Boyfriend back in the day. I loved when the Navy Ships were docked in front of the Harbor, we were super busy then. Now it’s just a Sad site to see. I keep hearing they are supposed to be Reviving it.

A New York group bought the place and invested more in their morning bagels than the mall itself. That is a huge reason its ib disarray. Broken promises. It was a Rouse property once.

Can't remember what Inner Harbour looked like before. I was 12 when that was built. Also remember when Power Plant became a night spot (they had a teen night as well as a regular bar). Not sure if Fells Point became a 'gentrified' area (place full of bars and restaurants) before this or after? Love going there for seafood (DUH, Maryland'r - all we eat ^_^). Although I remember me and my best friend (now passed, been years) went to Hooters there for wings when we were in our 20's. Don't live in Maryland anymore but there are certain things I do miss and that area of Baltimore in particular is definitely 1 of them....so many fond memories.

I would respectfully suggest the buildings are not at fault for the failure of the middle of the city. It seems Sailabration & the water draws people as did the original Light City presentation.

So Sad what it has become!! Infested with Crime and Thugs. They need to bring in the Army to help clean that area up. Such a Shame.

I really think the Harborplace to change to a Electronic Dannce Hall and shops remodeled for the Mollials. It is so outdated so no one goes. It is not an Airy like Bayside Miami. Beside Miami has more of a tourist bases and is not as crime ridden as Light and Pratt Street
