    OMG...Cant believe you hammered the rods on the crank pin!!!! That is a SUPER precision fit and it must (and can) be wiggled on. any slight angle and it gets stuck, I know that, but hammering just damaged the rods, no doubt....it slips on PRECISE.

      Yeah, I wish I wouldn't have had to, unfortunately the compressor had been sitting in a field for over q decade on its side, so just to get it working required some extreme measures

      @@AndrewWaite are you still getting some use from yours? Mine has been going strong after replacing the knocking rod last year. Cool to hear back from you man!

      @gtbarnes11 mines still running strong I need to just actually replace the piston sleeves/housing they leak a lot of air but it still produces plenty for my purposes and to run air tools

    The million dollar question did it work after you finish it?

      Mostly, hahaha, it runs, it runs well, but definitely not as good as new, it would need the piston casings resleaved to get back to factory spec

    Question. Im looking at a used 80 Gallon CH air compressor with a tf061903av pump. The oil in the pump looks good. The electric motor is being rebuilt as they over greased the bearings, so I cant run it to ensure it works. When I spin the pump I can hear it compressing air but then I hear air either coming out/in of the oil plug vent which is almost a pvc valve. is this normal?

    • @AndrewWaite
      @AndrewWaite  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats more or less what mine does it's the latent air pressure in the oil resvoir from my observations

      @@AndrewWaite I rebuilt the electric motor and it works great. 0 to 190psi in 2 minutes :)

    What did u actually "rebuild" here??? new rings? new rods? Mine has a slight knock that i think is the low press rod bushing(small end bronze)wear. New genuine IR rods come in the non oem full rebuild kit!!!...$169 on ebay right now! , I have it now and looks like a good kit all valves,gaskets,seals and ball bearings(made in india) included. Rods and new crank pin are PRECISOION FIT it all slips together with light twist, it will stick if cocked even slightly wrong. DO NOT HAMMER!!!!!!

      They came off about as hard as I put them on, these are the original parts except for rings gaskets and seals. That part was sped up, if I remember correctly I wasn't tapping on them all that hard

      See 13:44 for a picture of the piston casings, the proper name for that escapes me at the moment

      The bearings came from India because that’s where these compressors are made ! That’s why they are junk . Not much better than the crap that comes from China

    6:25 Why did u put the new seal in BACKWARDS??? Sorry but im looking for good info before i tear my $2500 compressor down!!!!

    • @AndrewWaite
      @AndrewWaite  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was how the old one was in there, this compressor sat in a field for at least a decade, I manually by hand removed all the rust from the cylinders, which is not how to do it, it should be machined and resleaved. I put new rings on and new gaskets, though one of the rings I broke while installing and I didnt have another one so I just used it

      @AndrewWaite  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also had the "heads" the plates at the top of the valve machined smooth, they were extremely pitted
