High level law players will now need to differentiate themselves by playing the game with their arcade stick resting on their shoulders like a boom box!
Just frame James is now just hold forward Howard.

It's called a slant rhyme.
Chefs kiss us also a slant.
You can feel Rip's soul leaving behind that smile
I'm a dss'r 💀💀
Honestly I'm glad this change happened. I've always wanted to play law but dss so so insanely hard, i found electrics so much easier to do. They may have changed dss, but still have to learn how to play the character for it to even be effective. It's not like everyone is now automatically a law god
Gave him Miguel's Sav transition
This was intentional, aside from the 'aggressive' mentality they're trying to push, they wanted to give more players (casuals) the ability to do 'cool' looking stuff with little to no practice via the lower execution and the expanded 'assist mode'. Let's face it, T8 won't sell more than 1M copies if it doesn't appeal to casuals. And you know they want those sales because T7 sold 10M over its entire life span and companies always expect their next product to outperform their last one.
doing cool stuff with no execution barrier get's boring very quickly, hence why technical characters are way more hype both to play and to watch
Who cares? Law isn’t given a low with counter hit launch. I would rather take heihachi’s punishable db 2 any day over laws dragon tail.
I wouldn't put it that way though. It's not that now more people have access to a cool move, in fact there's no coolness in that move anymore. They've sacrificed the coolness to give casual players more easy bread and butter tools for their gameplan.
That's the trade off.
(And yeah tbh I'm against this change. At first it could look like they just want their game to be a bit less cool and a bit more accessible, and that could even be okay, but Tekken has always had a huge roster for every need, just let them pick leroy or any character that's cool but straightforward and easy. We already have these, we don't need more, right? So what's the point of making the game less cool if there already are many accessible characters?
Spend a buck on developing nice tutorials, bandai namco, problem solved.)
@@nvbl2806 sure but that's not how casual's view it. besides, Law is this game's Bruce Lee. he should be attracting as much players as possible
I believe the old way to do it is still in and gives a slight damage buff to it compared to the easy one? Unsure about the latter I don't have the PS5 beta but remember watching Rip say as much.
yeah, if you do it the old way it will have blue sparks with increased damage but i dont know if it has +frames
I thought the blue sparks were from old input. Turns out you can do them with just the new input for the extra damage. I cant tell if the old input actually helps, but it SEEMS to help with timing still, so maybe its still useful for something
@@LevelUpYourGame That sucks if that’s true. I thought they’d reward legacy skill at the very least after giving easier alternatives.
This a big win for law and slide is more responsive as well and can do out of DSS now
Happy this change happened. Really don't have much time to play, especially to learn dss
I’m just glad I have to buy less controllers in the long run. 😂😂
Bro got the game yesterday and our prayers as law prayers are answered
I was sooo excited when I noticed they changed it! Now I gotta work on my Korean back dash. It's tough.
using that boombox grip. wait. Booom! box grip.
Way to dumb down the dragon. Looks fun though
@@Hillthugstawhat? There should be more to a game that matters other than "fun". No wonder the world is where it is right now. People want easy gratification with "fun". No need for putting in the work.
@@darkmeme2289 what a response. Goes to show your level of intellect. Well done.
Pls tell me theres like a blue spark version of dss if you do the legacy input
I welcome this change. There is no pride in breaking your fingers or your hand to perform a follow up attack. Especially since other characters have similar moves for less input,
I know some fighting games terms but What does DSS stand for ?
Pls can u give me the name of your arcade stick u have ? And can u pls tell me if the arcade stick need something to connect to the ps5 or just the usb
Nani! No more back forward hidden input? Or still around for blue spark?
I think mainman was saying PEWGF was a bit easier too, but he couldnt be sure because his execution is good. Can anyone verify if it is indeed easier?
I can do it pretty consistently in T7, but pretty difficult in a real match, it honestly felt the same for me in tekken 8. But now you don't get an easy full combo if you fail without heat cause b2,1 doesn't bound so it's no longer a no brainer to just go for it every time.
They said the old dss input is still possible so what if they add a blue spark effect on it? Only on the original dss input. Sure it wont change tournament play but it could differentiate players who preffer the old one instead of the new
as it is now you can get the bluespark animation with the easy input, but only when timed perfectly. if they change it so its just for the legacy input that would probably stop most of the backlash
I can DSS well in a match. For ws4, you input back forw before the kick hits, then there is a pause, then you just need to time the last forw. Not that hard for me now but took a long time to figure out.
Do you think this is a permanent change or just something they did for the CNT? I’m kinda hoping it’s just a temporary thing that will change on launch but I guess we’ll see.
I really hope that there is still a merit to doing the original input which will give more damage and showing blue sparks indicating that you did the og version of it. that way, at least for the players who put in countless hours down to mastering that technique can still find it useful to do. Whilst also incentivizes the new players to try out the og inputs if they ever wanted more damage out of it.
First time actually trying to learn the game, what is dss??
Hopefully they make the blue spark version of DSS moves actually worth doing.
They dumbed down IWR as well. Super easy. Kinda bitter sweet though. Putting in the hours of practice and finally perfecting the execution was so satisfying
How is everyone got early access to the game?
Does all the follow ups have blue spark versions? I've see the forward 3 one, but not any others.
Give 15dmg+ or stable wallcarry buff for puling off just-frame variant. Law is playable now I made it to Warrior on Day 1 I had something practical to pull-off consistently
Is it good to play tekken on controller?
What is the box he is using?
What’s the name of the joystick that you use
Dude im doing something extremely wrong then because it comes out when i hold it but there is like some delay or something i cant immediately do f+4
You know the hand acrobatic execution are the fun stuff, it will get boring pretty fast with this dumb down dss
i believe tekken7 dss is the right difficulty, i remember in tekken6 that dss is so hard realy required timing for the input
Made law a respectable character in tekken 7 this game he’s fucking dumb (hes my secondary)
as someone that spent the time to DSS of ws4 this sad to see
Old dss is still in which is cool, the Law specialists used to the old input can still do it. If old dss gave more dmg or something than I think that'd be fine
Thats a good way to utilize it, maybe make itbso that the original dss input will give you a blue spark.
What is dss what is the purpose of it idk what any of this means
Not a fan of making inputs easier. It took me a while to learn DSS and now its just hold forward? Ugh... I'll still play him tho.
What fight stick is that?
Long life muscle memory
Finally....now my left hand can rest in peace 😅
What stick is that?
But wasnt it only on heat?
This is what heartbreak looks and sounds like.
Yup was recently practcing alot of dss nd got that sweet timing but they dumbed it down
they gotta make the classic DSS method like a blue stuff extra damage. this is unfair to veteran players
Now everybody gets a trophy! Joy!
lmao the long are the days law players practice there execution. law being hard was part what made him cool.
I think its such a shame that Law got so easy
I love how law player's gotten so salty with the change, I'm here right now happy with the changes, it'll be more immersive for me to use those combos with the convenience of holding forward in DSS lol.
“Im so good, booom”
I still do the input on the off chance they put it back
so what is dss? im new
What is dss
I understand this a little bit, I appreciate the old school law players (me being one) all of laws best stuff is locked behind his dss and he wasn’t exactly top tier even when you could do dss tekken 7 has DJ who was BUSTED for MONTHS!! Even if you couldn’t PEWGF
Not exactly happy that they've made certain things that used to require a lot of timing and/or execution a lot simpler, i.e. mishimas have access to all electrics via heat, Jin has all electrics through zen, teching Kings Giant swing is now now a mash fest, same with Ninas throw that i don't know the name of, DSS made simpler, full crouch throws are now full crouch+down back+1+2, instead of full crouch+down-down forward-down+1+2, etc, etc...
So you no longer have to press back then forward inbetween ?
perfect dss still exist and it does more damage with blue sparks when executed
What is DSS ???
This is dumb af. Law was my first real fighting game character when I started t7 last year. Dss seemed like this almost magical technique that I wanted to learn all about and master. Now it's like every other tekken 7 stance: hold forward after cancelable move, well done 👍. I really hope they revert this change. Law was really popular with casuals anyway. He's literally Bruce Lee, they don't need anything more than that to attract casuals
What's dss?
Skill gap nerf tho
As a law player , I only use the stock ps5 controller, no need for the analog or all them buttons ,
Plus my boy got to many moves for folks to do the same stuff . Appeal be on 40 getting boring wins
What the heck I didn’t know they made this change.
Honestly, as someone who has played Tekken growing up since the first learning different tricks throughout the years, im extremely happy theyre simplifying things.
What Does DSS mean?
It's way easier now than it was in T7 😂
hmm... i dont think i like this. I always enjoyed doing dss as an input, it felt satisfying to do but this looks like it kills that feeling completely. Sigh i guess thats just how devs aproach these things these days just make everything more brain dead rather than implement a proper training mode where to practice and gain that skill over time. Not that dss was even hard to begin with, are electrics still the same?
There was no reason to change the controls like this t7 already had assist combos for the beginners what was the point of changing the combos up and making significantly easier tekken beauty comes from it’s challenging gameplay and competitiveness it feels rewarding to learn a character but for them to do Law and jin like this is beyond me
All I’ve been wanting to see is a wider, more reasonable hitbox for DSS 4 and better recovery for dropped combos… Cool, but this really dumbs things down.
Sad to see that Law's DSS difficulty is not that challenging anymore
There is a bluespark version though.
You can do the bluesparks like this too. Its all about the timing of the button
And then theres me who doesnt know what DSS even means.
this input is stupid for the simple fact i always get accidental dss moves wich maked me whiff and drop combos, sometimes i just want to dash forward after a move but i guess accidental dss, they should make the input like the older one again but just less strict that would appease casuals too
It's sad 😢
Tbh I can still tell the difference between very good law players and decent law players.
In Rip I trust with Law. Period
13 f****** years. 13 mother******* years👍thanks harada
Man they really made Law easy as hell to play now
Not just him, I played Bryan through cnt and alot of his stuff was way easier to execute in t8.
They made most of the cast now easy mode and nerfed KBD.
I can see a lot of people playing T8 then going back to 7 after a while.
Is it LEI in tekken eight
That jsr ref tho
a damn shame. Fix namco please. F it. I would mind a petition for this change lol
This change is stupid, but I can't really argue since I drop combos like 70% of the time.
They really couldn't have made it add extra damage when you do the trad input
I think I'm gonna use law now
IT BECAME THAT WAY?
Bruh, why.
All that practice on dss, gone down the drain I guess
I was still doing previous dss input🥴
Why 😢
I've practiced DSS for countless hours, and my left thumb is very happy about this change.
Most pathetic thing you could say
Man I feel you my thumb would be throbbing like crazy when playing Law, he’s my main but damn I’m happy with the change 😭
@@ikingbandz96how is your thumb throbbing from simple directional inputs?
@@gemini4lyfe3001by not getting the timing down. That's how. The old way isn't as simple. Not hard tho. Something being simple doesn't take away the fact of having to press those inputs repetitively. Repetition can be painful.
