Appreciate this! Just bought this lens online and came with the EF mount that i wanted to directly use on my BMPCC 6K, but its not focusing to infinity... I have no idea how to adjust the focal distance of it. any clue of the steps to open and adjust this on the lens? thanks!
Hey hey. Yes, and unfortunately you literally have to disassemble it a bit from the front which requires removing a few pieces including the front group and then leaving those pieces off to rescrew the front group to adjust the focus and then unscrew it out the pieces back on and then screw the front group back on and finish putting it together. Much much different than any other lens I've serviced/disassembled/etc
Hey! Thanks :) you are correct! We are taking a bit off the road to hang out and work on some long term shoots and stuff here so had to get something a bit more permanent and warm aha
Thats a good idea anyways. Winter is coming and I imagine even in southern states its not too fun living in a van. Then again, give me a van for the winter and I am out of Calgary instantly. Was freezing today. @@averykevans6894
@@classic.cameras no doubt! Although we had honestly been pretty lucky. Last winter we were in Southern Texas for a project and the winter before that we spent in Southern Arizona. In Pennsylvania this winter though and definitely would've been brutal aha
@@rileyharmon1 if you're talking the FD f2 SSC version then id probably put them in Leica/FD and then the contax. I personally think at 2.8 the image between the FD and Leica are both very very nice but at f2 the FD is a bit soft. I personally like the flares of the Leica a bit more than the FD though and it has a longer focus throw which for me puts the Leica in the lead. If you're talking about any other FD 28mm then for me the leica wins by a fair margin. The qmb contact is also very nice, decently sharp at 2.8 but for me although I really love the flare it's more of a specialty lens that I will keep and use but only for effect. The next version of the contax has better ghosting control but the ray flares are even stronger so for me it's a bit too much. Also shorter focus throw and slightly busy bokeh at times.
I appreciate this; had this lens on a shelf with no intention of using it as I don't use QBM mount. It brings something new to the table.
It's worthy! :)
I have the Rollei HFT version and it is (surprisingly) also marked as made in W.Germany

Nice new format and beginning Avery. So you being in a office, does this mean you don't live on the road anymore?

how would you rate first to last between, leica r 28, fd 28, and zeiss 25
In terms of what criteria?
just how you like them for video work, i have narrowed down to R28, FD28sc, Contax 28/2.8 for myself
