The battle of the prodigies and the cho le's. I love the sportsmanship at 26:00. Benyamin has a bright future ahead of him, he made Harimoto worried at the start and the middle and he also has a backhand like Kreanga 18:45 and 21:50
Harimoto won his first international tournament at 14 against the the at that time nr.1 in the world timo boll (at least he was nr.1 in that year), and he was ranked 3rd in the world at 15. This boy's not even close to that. Sure, he did beat wang chuqin, but that wasn't because he played particularly good, wang chuqin just played shit and lost before the quarterfinals in 2 out of three competitions and lost the other one in the semis while he had easy draws.
Playing table tennis requires calmness, not haste. If you are not calm, the ball will get stuck and come out. Also, don't be tense. Relax and focus. You'll win.
Harimoto is wise enough to see the Iranian weaknesses which Wang Chu Qin of China didnt see it. But, I believe no regrets for the Iranians since their players has the capability to defeat top rank players. He will get a lot of experience in tournaments, and thats what Iranians do. To immerse him in joining the tournaments. Nice upcoming young players.
Harimoto is just a little above average player these days, he didn't become what people expected even playing in Japan and China which are stable countries and powerhouses in the sport, not this new kid is from Iran, he'll have a hard time training and keeping up pace with new Chinese players.
@@containternet9290Because he never trained full time due to academic commitments.2-3 hours of training is not enough even for the simplistic plastic ball game. The Swedes who beat China in the 80's used to train 6 hours a day and quit school at 15.
Can someone pls explain what is the setup of that simple looking backhand serve of Harimoto, I am just a fan of the game just entry to intermediate level
It's a very low, spinny backspin serve that stays super short and is almost impossible to attack. Harimoto did this because the kid is so confident in reading half long and long serves and has such a confidant backhand flick as well. Mostly serves to short forehand to force out pushes, then pushed long to expose his slightly weaker backhand. Very smart move since no one seems to know farajis weaknesses yet since he just appeared out of no where. Now we have more info at least.
Not surprising at all. Just an improvement for him at his young age. We cannot compare a number 2 ranking Wang Chu Qin and an Iranian 200 ranking. It is nit about winning in a game but the ranking and advancement to win the overall tournament. He needs more experience if he grow up.
His main club is run by his father and he gets a good practice. Iran has regular competitions and different leagues. As far as I know it is better and more organized than what I saw in the USA.

Honestly he is very good but wcq played very bad and harimoto was also quite poor in the beginning. He will be a good player but not as good as harimoto

14 years old.... it's unbelivable how well he plays...!!!!
Harimoto playing against his once young self.
They are building younger and better models now. This new one is top of the line and comes with all the upgrades.
So proud of Benyamin, he is going to be the nightmares of all big heads , and harvest lots of trophies soon . ❤
this kid as a bright future!! find of the tournament
As he gets bigger his bones & muscles will get heavier so he will not be a swift especially since he's considered caucasian.
Indeed!
I disagreed and thought that he was a streetball player and couldn't walk far.
When table tennis masters become familiar with this seamless ball, they will definitely be able to tell the difference.

playing like this at 14....... totally crazy. imagine being a high level pro player and having to battle against a kid.... and its not easy.

Former prodigy against today's prodigy
Harimoto has a good serve and doesn’t use brute force to hit the ball.
Faraji is a young WARRIOR, SPIRITED, NATURAL, HARD HEADED & HARDWORKING. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE ASSET HE IS TO IRANIAN YOUTH, IRANIAN PRIDE & SPORTS.

wow! Such a great young talent. Really enjoyed watching game of both. Fast and furious :)
All in all pretty easy for Harimoto who didn't play near his best, but great performance from Faraji!

the boy should have a very good table tennis career.
My 2 cents…. Simple chopped serves from Harimoto… precise in height, depth and placement… he was in full command when he served…
The kid is a BEAST
The kid has 0 fear. Its crazy
What kind of rubbers does he use🤔

Who knows that no spin serve can be that dangerous?
It produces a predictable response when short and has very little energy.
