skincare is so interesting one persons holy grail routine could be another persons nightmare.
Exactly, but I love seeing the results
So true. As my dermatologist informed me saying if I have oily skin; (which I do) applying more oil to my skin will cause more havoc. (And it did) So my skincare products consist of no added oils, a gentle cleaner, (contains no harsh chemicals) and micellar water which has made a tremendous difference. However, this apparently works great for her because her skin is beautiful.
Yup that’s correct it is like that for a hair care and diet too
Yeah I could never use that many products on my face my skin is too sensitive less is more for me but I haven’t yet found my holy grails to give me perfect skin yet
@@ESBEAUTII you aren’t alone. 🙏🏽
Hack: put puffy scrunches on your wrist to avoid water and product dripping all down your arm, etc. while you clean your face
i do this after seeing the hack on twitter! gave changer!!
Omg Omg Omg! I am going to try this immediately
awesome - this actually makes me not want to wash my face sometimes, just the mess made.
Smart! It aggravates my soul when that hapns
Thank you, I hate washing my face in the sink for this reason
Yall the general key to a clear face is this every night:
1) if you wear make up or other things on your face like spf or lotion remove it,
2)clarifying cleanser to strip the makeup you missed and other things sitting on your face like oil and dirt.
3)some type of gentle exfoliation. whether it's a gentle chemical peel, or exfoliating gloves. Just something to remove dead skin on your face. Don't go ham on your face and rub it raw but gently remove the top later of dead skin cause that traps dirt and oil under your skin and causes bumps and acne. I say gentle exfoliant because this is a nightly routine, and exfoliating to harshly everyday will damage your skin.
3) something to moisturize the skin (removing the top dead layer makes moisturizers soak into the skin better that's why you moisturize after exfoliating) and something to minimize pores
4) your sealant to trap that moisture and goodness in your skin
The products aren't really the key thing here, it's the technique, knowing each step and what each step is for, and consistency. I do t wear foundation anymore since perfecting my skin routine and the stuff I use is inexpensive because I know what each step is for and understand their purpose. For me I keep it simple. I use an $8 cleanser from Medline Remedy to strip dirt and oil from my face, I use EITHER exfoliating gloves with my black soap to do the next 2 steps at the same time (exfoliate and moisturize because black soap has Shea butter in it) OR I use my 20% glycolic acid wipes to exfoliate my skin and remove that top layer then go in with my black soap (I don't do this as much, more so when I was trying to get rid of the dark marks and acne starting out when it was bad), then after moisturizing I rub my fa e down with witch-hazel because it's an astringent, meaning it causes the contraction of skin cells and tissue.. laymans terms it shrinks pores, then seal my face with good ole Vaseline.
It's not the products you use, I promise. You can use whatever you like so long as they do the things in each step. The main thing is technique and staying consistent with it EVERYDAY till your skin clears up. ✨️
then there's other little things you can do to help aid your skin clearing up, like drinking more water, weekly changing of your pillow cases, sheets, and other things that touch your face regularly (like even cleaning your glasses which alot of people with nose acne should do), changing you diet if you eat a lot of greasy or sugary foods and eating enough vitamin c and biotin, or taking a supplement with them. These last things arent mandatory but they will help aid in your face clearing up. Also stop popping your bumps and touching your face in general
good stuff! and. I believe it because when i’m consistent with the steps it’s so clear
Thank you for the details, I am definitely going to do this.
THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for this. I'm going to write it out and put it on my mirror.

Ugh, I always get so nervous with skincare. Products can get really pricey, and there's no guarantee certain products will even work for your skin once you try them lol. We really be out here taking risks
You will never go wrong with Cervae products. My skin is extremely sensitive and acne prone. Cervae has rescued my skin.
i totally feel you! i think if you’re nervous i would start as simple as possible and add in products that you think would be compatible w your skin and the items you’re trying to treat!
if you want to start and also not spend a crap ton like me, you can start as simple like:
1. a gentle cleanser (i use cerave’s foaming facial cleanser, not too expensive and i get it at walmart, in fact i get the generic/equate brand) to wash your face
2. apply a moisturizer that already agrees with your skin.
3. add more products into your routine as you see fit one at a time to make sure that product does well w/ your skin
i think being consistent in doing your skincare daily and keeping your hands clean + off your face when it’s dirty is key, and spf on top if/mixed in with your moisturizer during the day too
@@veri.contrary You're both actually so right. I went to Ulta and the associate basically told me the same thing you did. Start simple, with one of each, and so I did. Because of this video, I tried the La Roche cleanser, the toner and the rosewater spray, and they've been working so well. And as a moisturizer, I use the cerave resurfacing serum and then just almond oil. It's been only less than a month and my skin looks so much better 😭 This skincare community/camaraderie is the best
Have u heard of Ipsy or Kinder Beauty? I use them for my skincare. They're great.

Hey sweetie! Instead of using the coconut oil ,you can opt by using cleansing balm ( likes heimish co, banilla co ) as it will act the same as coconut oil but also it will emulsify with water and making 'less mess' when you rinse it off from your face! Hope this helps!
Thanks for the tip! 💕
Co-signing. Coconut Oil ages the skin prematurely. Only use it on your body not your face. Feel free to fact check. Great Video👏🏿🙌🏿
@@Elegantjewel71 Agree, I wouldn’t use coconut oil on my face. Best natural oil to use on the face is raw unprocessed almond oil or jojoba oil, as these two oils are the closest to our natural oil from our skin.
@@souljagirl2203 guess it just varies from individual ive used coconut on my skin and s a spot treatment and the bumps i applied it to the night before vanished. It also makes my skin super soft and looks much clearer. May have adverse affects for caucasians but this is a holy grail for my skin
Amazing video! Oils with high Linoleic content help balance the sebum, but those with high oleic content cause breakouts. Oils like rose hip, Evening Primrose, Safflower and Grapeseed are all great sources. Coconut oil has only 2%.

I would recommend to everyone to buy some reusable makeup remover pads or cloths, some even come in super cute designs as they are basically makeup wipes but they're not thrown in the trash after one use.

You spot treating with the hydroquinone is the right way! I hate when people think your bleaching when your just correcting. Either with Vit C or anything else its the best way to see results with discoloration.
This, I use a prescription strength hydroquinone (Musely) to spot treat on my face and random parts of my body
@@CrystalRose1111 how can I get this
I’ve learned that my cure to hyperpigmentation was fragrance free products. I even bought unscented natural deodorant and my armpits almost matches the rest of my skin. And I’m shaving more frequently. I’ve learned a lot about artificial fragrances and the harsh horrible ingredients in them, which can vary. Also, companies don’t have to list the awful ingredients they used for their fragrances. So we never really know. Then there are some very drying ingredients that also damage skin. so I and found that these were the major reason for any breakouts I’ve had and hyperpigmentation. Since I switched to fragrance free face products, my hyperpigmentation drastically improved. I’ve definitely noticed smaller pores and this method even improved my sons acne where other things haven’t. I’m telling y’all, stay away from fragrances and then see what other ingredients might be worsening issues. But I do feel fragrance is a major contributor to hyperpigmentation
Your skin looks amazing and you are beautiful. I used to have a Clarisonic and when I first started using it my skin was amazing for a bit but the effect didn’t last even with continued use. Clarisonic went out of business and I think it’s because they are recommended against due to over exfoliating and the brush heads harboring bacteria. So I would tread lightly with the brush and ditch the makeup wipes because they say that all that rubbing isn’t good in the long run and it’s also bad for the environment. I believe the wipes don’t break down as they’re made of plastic material. Also I’ve read and heard a lot about hydroquinone being great for the skin but that we should be careful not to over use for extended periods of time because… something about the melasma coming back worse or something. Especially for skin of color. It looks like all of these things are working out for you because you look amazing but just be careful. And wear sunblock.
I love how you do your edges, so cute!

Her skin is super pretty!! My two cent worth: So this routine is not for dry skin girls.. in this video she exfoliated when she used the wipes, when she rubbed the first face, when used face brush, the she chemically exfoliated with then when she used the salicylic face wash. For oily girls: over exfoliating can cause excess oil production. Also licorice root is a gentle way to treat hyperpigmentation.
Facts 👌🏾
When I put moisturizer or oil on my face it fills oily and the oil sits on my face but when I put nothing but face wash on my face it’s dry. With that being said can you guess my skin type 🤣 one minute I think it’s dry and another i think it’s oily.

Please switch over to a silicone brush. A lot of dermatologists dont recommend bristle brushes due to it holding bacteria, making micro tears in the skin, and interrupting the skin's layer with long term use. Although most would say you only need your hands, they ask if you feel you need to use a brush use the silicone one.
Edit: eye creams are a flop lol. They work for that day but most will not cause semi-permanent changes.
Yupppppp🔥🔥I do agree, the brush is too harsh, and eye creams are just overpriced moisturisers haha.
@Mimi mimk Easier to clean thoroughly, softer on the skin, and more flexible. They say we don't need any gadgets at all but of course "we" dont want to believe that because we feel we get a better clean with devices although there is no research behind it (according to dermatologists). It's less likely to hold bacteria that can interrupt the skin, less likely to tear the skin, and because of that it's less likely to put bad bacteria in the layers of the skin that causes acne, rashes, etc.
i have. genuine question would this be the same for tooth brush bristles? i feel like they are similar but short length
@@Jazyagami I believe so. They day we should be changing out our toothbrush 0rerty frequent but most of us don't lol.
@Trinity M If the goal is lightening than yes HOWEVER if the goal is to reduce bags and puffiness it is a temporary fix. I am not generalizing anything this is from the specialist not from me. Consistent use would help with the "appearance" of bags and puffiness but you will have to continue use to get the desire results. That's why most specialist say it's a flop because it doesn't solve the primary cause of it.
Your skin looks so *beautiful, healthy & GLOWY* 😍 the technique you used for washing your face is SO HELPFUL!!
What about the hair on your face? Just wondering why you don’t brush your hair off of your face so you can clean your entire face.
Nice routine, especially when wearing full coverage foundation. I would swap The Ordinary hyaluronic for a high/low molecular weight one such as Eucerin. High weight serums just sit on the skin and benefit the surface, they can’t sink into it.
The coconut oil for the face is a “NO”. It’s highly comedogenic to the pores!
Its fine once you're washing it off and not leaving it on the skin for extended periods of time.
While that may be true, everything she is doing is clearly working for her
Have you ever thought trying reusable cotton pads or the makeup eraser or the face halo? Because makeup wipes are not eco-friendly and it is expensive in the long run. . .

I work in a mail order pharmacy that specializes in dermatology prescriptions… so please be careful with that skin lite medication that she mentions. Yes these prescription creams can be expensive when prescribed and often not covered by insurance (like sometimes $100s and $1000s) so I’m not against going a cheaper route. Just do your research! Wear SPF! Don’t use for an extensive amount of time because you can cause internal problems like liver issues. This is prescribed medication for a reason so use it responsibly. ❤

When you talk about overexfolating you defenitely need to take in consideration that using the brush you use is a exfoliation step as well. So using it every day can be to harsh on the long term. It has even proved that the use of that kind of brushes can be too aggressive for our skin. Using makeup wipes is also not the best option cause that can be irritating and you are exfoliating as well ( due to friction) I would rather use, like someone already mentioned a balm. Skinlite is ok if you use for short period and with alot of sunscreen in morning.... I think you should use moisturiser then skinlite... So it will remain as spot treatment... Otherwise while rubbing moisturiser all over face, the skinlite would also spread
But how do we know if the spot treatment can get through those layers of other products. This is my own misunderstanding with layering.

La Roche- Posay has a really good SPF 15 moisturizer that’s really good. It’s on the pricey side but still worth it. Doesn’t leave any white residue or anything. But imma have to try that cleaner though.
Black girl sunscreen has really good sunscreen, no white cast for like $10-20 dollars! The kids one is 50 spf for only $10 dollars! (Just if you wanted a really good spf for cheaper)

You are GORGEOUS!! ♡ I'm so glad this works for you, but wipes of any kind are so harsh of my face, and same for brushes. Hi..... nice to meet you
I see you’re mentioning things you haven’t been using that long sooo what cleared your skin exactly?
Right. 😏

It seems like the Skinlite cream was really what did it…tretinoin alone is used to treat acne and the skinlite cream also contains hydroquinone which is used to fade hyperpigmentation. She mentioned that the cream was what really transformed her skin. I personally wouldn’t use hydroquinone because of the possibility of rebound hyperpigmentation but that’s just me.
@Mimi mimk depends on skin type but in the AM I used a gentle cleanser, vitamin c serum, discoloration serum, and SPF. At night I used the same cleanser, chemical exfoliant/toner (REN AHA glow tonic - used daily until hyperpigmentation was gone then I switched to using 1-2x per week), discoloration serum, and lightweight moisturizer. There were also some nights when instead of using the glow tonic, I used retinol and on those nights, I kept my skin care routine even more simple since retinol doesn’t play well with other ingredients. I just didn’t use hydroquinone because I was not going to a dermatologist that could assist me in working it into and back out of my routine properly and because I ended up seeing results with over the counter products that didn’t contain the ingredient.
@Mimi mimk good molecules discoloration correcting serum
Also remember your skin is a reflection of what’s going on in your body (poor diet, dehydration, hormonal imbalances etc)
I love that you have some skin care knowledge. To be honest, most skin care gurus on TH-cam don’t know what the heck they’re talking about. Have you ever tried using micellar water or, cleansing oil/balm to get rid of your make up? Also, I would skip using tretinoin along side AHAs and BHAs, as it can become too much for the skin. I, myself, use Adapalene every other day. While I use my AHAs and BHAs on alternate days.
Can you please explain? New to skin care.
@@LethalWeapon73 Which part do you need to have explain?
@@LethalWeapon73 So, micellar waters and cleansing balms are oil based methods of cleansing the skin. Typically, this is the first step in cleansing. You would usually follow up with a foam or gel cleanser after using them. Now as for AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) and BHAs (beta hydroxy acids), these are actives that penetrate the skin at different levels in order to exfoliate dead skin cells and to increase cell turnover. AHAs are typically hydrating and exfoliating, while BHAs are typically drying while also providing exfoliation. BHA‘s work by going into the pore and excavating out extra oil (sebum), and any other gunk you might have in there. The desired affect of an BHA is a pore-less, clear complexion. But, as they are actives, these acids have to be used sparingly. No more than three times a week is best. But, some skin types can take daily use. I would recommend speaking with a board-certified dermatologist for any good information on skin care, though. Don’t learn skin care through social. It will only lead to disaster.
You should try the Laneige lip sleeping mask for your lips at night!
Yes they are amazing! Especially the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask.
I work at Sephora ! Y’all better get it as your free birthday gift first before it runs out lol
@@Gabrielaaboo17 aww it has that there? There's no Sephora in my country, Sadly. Most products I order online.
I 💯 agree with washing hands before starting cleansing Routine. I just don't use as many items. I am happy with my results and her skin looks Healthy and Hydrated ✨🌾😌
I don't know why but for me a facial brush cleanser does not do wonders for me it literally breaks out my skin 🙃 but I love your skin care routine 🥰
The product is enough! I wash everday my acne with a drying profut like tea tree foam cleanser feom bodyshop. My acne cleared up.
I spent $5 for a spin brush from 5 below, it works very well it only starts going slow when the batteries need to be changed
Really feeling the giant baby hair swoop!
I haven’t even got all of the products your referring to just the cleanser and Biosance serum has helped me on its own . I also following your morning skin regimen routine by far both videos are the best skin routines for black woman with deep skin tones such as myself . I love the fact that you use top shelf skin products because our skin is rich I really hate when I see a skin regimen and literally everything is products you can get from cvs , Walgreens or Walmart
You don’t need wipes just use water to wash it off
oil?¿
True 😂😂😂😂
Instead of the makeup wipes which just move makeup around & don’t remove it, have you tried a balm?
I love a lot of your products besides the wipes & coconut oil clogs my pores.. So maybe your skin would like the inkey list oat balm..
It feels like rubbing Vaseline on- but it rinses off w water easily.
Your skin is beautiful either way :)
What do you use to remove your makeup if the coconut oil clogs your pores?
Wow you wiped off the makeup and barely anything changed 😭💗
Thank you so much for this video!!! I will definitely be looking to purchase these products cause my skin has definitely been a insecurity problem for me!! ❤
flawless skin.... love it
i'm 30 and exhausted on skin care products. nothing works more than 5-6 months, the same products that will me, break me down couple months later. any advice ladies?
all I want is a clear skin free of acne
Switch it up
What products have you been using
Your skin is absolutely gorgeous and you’re so pretty!! Thanks for sharing ❤
Oh my gosh you are sooo pretty like I could barely focus
You know your skin is flawless girl. Its beautiful
Hey there! What frequency should a beginner do with the skinlight cream? I have hyperpigmentation and oily skin (similar to your before)
Not perfect, where? Not flawless, where? 😍 Love this routine!
Based on thumbnail I thought it was a video on edges 😂 your skin is beautiful!!
How do u use a brush and then apply active ingridients. I don't think that's good.
COME ON EDGES!!!!! Staying in the place the whole video 🤝I love it
Have you ever tried a cleansing balm instead of coconut oil? If it works, it works ofcourse but a cleansing balm would be easier to use since it emulgates when you wash it off with water, so you don't need to use wipes to take it off
Okay I needed a night skincare routine! Thanks you !
Your skin looks gorgeous! 🙂
Apply the tone to your hands. Then on the face saves you TONS OF PRODUCT.
Thanks for sharing and including the products in video. I would like to know the actual products you used to clear up your acne prior to using these newer products?
I loved this routine. I’m going to incorporate this.
I love how she included washing your hands I don't even have acrylics but I still go in with a toothbrush and get up under my nails
I ain't got the patience for all these steps for my face. It shouldn't take all that. But her skin do look good.
She probably not really putting all this stuff on her face. No way this can be a good thing. Too much of anything is a bad thing. Shes probably getting paid to say she uses this crap. Crazy that people believe her.
There are some people who actually have long skincare routines like this...plus she made it clear her night time routine is longer than her day time routine. If she was getting paid for it, she would have made a disclosure about it. Anyways, these are the products that work for her, whether you believe it or not. I’m assuming you watched to acquire some tips as well? If the video wasn’t beneficial for you, there are plenty of other videos to watch, rather than spending time spewing negativity. Have a nice day!
@@tracknation7285 I saw the filter also. Nothing negative about that or her commercial
In reality it's probably 1 or 2 products giving her the results. After layering more than 3 products it becomes difficult for your pores to absorb. Her skin is beautiful though ❤
I see everyone using the la roche posay cleanser and I have very oily acne prone skin but it’s a bit out of my budget and I don’t want to waste my money if it doesn’t do anything so I might just end up trying to get a sample to try it first, hopefully it works because it’s a really good price for the big bottle
Girl I’ve had that same spin brush for 3 years and I can’t live without it! You definitely don’t need an expensive spin brush
I would recommend a silcon brush it's easy to clean bacteria build up.
Can you do a video on your morning skin care routine please? And if that’s not an option can you just tell me what kind of moisturizer you use in the AM please?😍😍😍😍
Imma need details or a tutorial for your sleek ponytail 😍
Hello
Girl you are STUNNING!!
💕💕
She is .❤
raw African black soap is good for removing make up too! ❤️ 💙
Your skin is flawless 💙
Firstly, you are gorgeous! And your hair was super cute. Thanks for the skin tips!
