Personally, my purchases/purchasing habits have gone done drastically almost to nonexistent. I’ve already uninstalled all the sneaker apps and resell apps. When you have more pairs of kicks than days of the week. It’s time to sit back and just rock em. That’s just me personally. Ever since I’ve removed those apps. I haven’t been receiving ads for latest drops and shit. Makes it easier to not be enticed for a purchase that’s not necessary.
Sounds like you've over came an addiction. I'm not into sneakers but i like watching videos to see how much people spend on them. I collect watches and they can be just as expensive. Thank God i haven't purchased one in months because my watch box is full.
This is the way. Done the same and its worked wonders. I still have twitter and receive sneaker drop notifications but I don’t go crazy over buying a pair like I used to.
Couldn't have said it any better myself, just like what I got and don't pay attention to the extra shit I don't care about lol when I want more I can do research then but I don't need fomo on stuff that don't matter to me currently, got lows got highs and got boots so 🤷🏻♂️
As a new “sneakerhead” since the start of this year, it’s been awesome being able to get so much shoes that I want. Shoes are so accessible that I may have to limit myself to only 3-4 new pairs next year 😭 Hearing your stories and people saying “these shoes would’ve sold out 2-3 years ago” makes me happy that I got into the shoe game recently because I probably would’ve spent too much on resale lol so for someone just getting into the shoe game, it’s probably a great time for them.
Sneaker culture is shifting. There will always be exclusivity for those 1-2 specific releases a year but there’s a lot more emphasis on inclusion, diversity and accessibility. What got me into sneakers were the stories behind them. You obviously have Jordan and Kobe but then you still had your Shaq, Iverson, and recently Curry that people were and are enamored with. This also extends to artists like Kanye and Pharrell that you were just fans of. Nowadays there are too many stories that are either not relevant to what’s happening, artificially created stories to produce hype, rehashes of things we’ve seen in the past, or somethings that most people are not interested in. And the marketing isn’t relevant to most people. Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, and Drake’s images should be more than enough to generate hype for a release. But they are nothing like the hype Travis had in 2020 when he was selling out McNugget pillows. Who knows what the next few years have in store. And that’s fine. Because more stories are being told by more creators and those shoes are put out there for people to find something meant for them.
Loved the pace and conversion in this video! As for sneakers. I am still hesitant on what I buy due to so many sneakers releasing. Theres a lot of collabs that don't get the attention they deserve such as the Aritzia Asics. Those are the type of collabs I try to find, under the radar.
As someone relatively new to buying sneakers, this is a great time. I’ve been able to get great shoes for way less than they would’ve been even just a year ago because the market is saturated, which is great for us as the consumer.
Buying less and being more a lot more selective, I think it's a lot easier to say that when you already have a decent amount of sneakers that you're satisfied with. Still definitely a lot of sneakers in the future I'm looking forward too!
Im cool where we are with sneaker hype in terms of availability. I like not having to be super pressed to buy xyz sneaker. However, I am not cool with the rising retail prices and not having the quality also raised up/reflect that especially on general releases. Like Adidas charging $100 for Superstars, gazelles, stan smiths, sambas when they used to be $80, $80, $75 and $80 respectively a few years back and not feeling like $100 worth of quality.
Everything is on the pendulum, swinging into hype then out. Back and forth. What's 🔥 this year, won't be next year, but in 5 years, just watch, it's all the rage again.
The older I get the more hyped sneakers don't really matter to me I get sneakers that have more quality and stand the test of time like Rick's rather than cheap nikes
Honestly the sneaker game right now is in a good spot for the consumer rather than the seller. For example the Palomino, a lot projected that sneaker to do well over $300, after the drop it barely peaked over $240, I just got mine for $206. A good time to collect right now for sure!
That clear weather brand went viral like 5 or 6 years ago because future wore them & that gave them hella light but they have cooled off since that initial run
In my opinion sneakers will never die out. Maybe paying crazy prices has died out, but hey that’s better now so people can get the shoes they’ve always wanted for greater prices and feel good when they own the pair they paid a great price on.
I love where sneakers are at now because it’s easier to cop as real sneakerheads we can grab what we truly love without competing with resellers I mean they still there but there’s not much to make so the stock sits more often then not , picked up the UNC for retail I’ve never been happier , although the retail price has gone up even in SA it hurts the bank but spending money on what you truly love and what makes you happy is such an amazing feeling rewarding yourself for all the hard work you do is good to me so yeah beautiful time for sure I’m not one to complain for too many releases because I could only afford to buy for retail and I’d never get 3 years back so cool times for real sneakerheads in my humble opinion 🙏🏼
Sneakers not dead. People just are tired of resellers and resell prices. If people can’t get a shoe for retail or around retail they’re not gonna get it because there are so many dope shoes now and shoes are constantly being released all people gotta do is wait a week or two to try for another shoe they like. Fashion is so great now because people aren’t just chasing after what has “hype” and instead are going for what they like
My purchasing routine became low. I just maintain 5 shoes in my wardrobe. 1. Clarks Desert Boot in Sand Suede 2. Classic flat sneakers like Reebok Club C/Adidas Continental 80/DCs 3. Formal shoes in black or brown 4. Basketball shoes 5. Checkered Vans if beat up already, I cop one.
Sneakers won't ever die. People's priorities change, but there's always another generation getting into the sneaker game. It perpetual. I definitely slowed down my sneaker purchases over the past few years, not because I can't afford them, I just spend my money more on travel and experiences lately. I got more than enough shoes to cycle thru and there's nothing really I want. I will always love kicks though.
Real sneaker heads don't follow trends but love sneakers for what they are and what they mean to them. That will never end. Low resell is great for sneaker heads because it makes them all easier and much more affordable to get.
This is one of the best years in sneakers and that’s facts. I love where we’re at rn. Personally it’s crazy, because I’ve bought more shoes this year than any other. I’m sure I’m closing in on a shoe for every month of the year now. And the shoes I’ve taken L’s on, I can go back and pick them up for like $50 over max. I dreamt about times like these lol
Yall should do a topic on does music influence the way we think about fashion ? And are we buying clothing and foot wear from these artists just becuase there famouse ? Shout out from the pnw much love .
I think jonny had the best take. majority of people dont know what they actually like and were just following the reselling value trend. now that majority of shoes dont have resell value hypebeast people lose interest because they dont have something to tell them what is "cool" to wear.
I don’t even want crazy resell but everything got pumped out to such an extreme rate. I feel like the market has died down cs of… 1) it feels like u can just pass up on any one pair cs something similar will just come out within the next few months 2) there isn’t as much economic incentive to buy/wear as many shoes cs its a lot harder to sell (used) in a flooded market where you can just pay another 25-50 for a brand new pair 3) We don’t have the same influx of designers coming in and reimagining designs to the same extent as Kanye, Virgil, Pharell, Sean Wotherspoon, etc. did in the past
After buying many pairs in 2021, missed out on 2022 new releases raffles, didn't buy at retail as selection wasn't good and resale prices ridiculous but bought one pair from reseller under retail. 2023 bought one pair online, one retail and couple around retail from resellers. Not paying ridiculous reseller prices any more. Resellers and Nike destroyed sneaker market and now many sitting in stores and other brands are more appealing at better prices. Reseller pages now deathly quiet in our country
Its the economy. Food/gas/etc is more expensive, there are more investment opportunities in the market. I think more people are spending money on necessities and its less to spend on spare things like sneakers. Not to mention people saving money in preparation for the inevitable ecomonic recession due to inflation
Sneakers will never die. Sneaker TH-camrs slowed down because the content got redundant. Kids are now creating content that makes sense to them. There will be a new wave.
I lost interest in the shoes game when stuff was unobtainable…resell prices were gettin ridiculous. Used to be able to scout ebay for steals but not so much anymore so I just stopped trying. Bots were rampage so it was close to impossible to get during drop day. Now a day I just thrift for clothes and focus more on clothes since that’s wat most people tend to look at first unless they’re into shoes.
Personally i moved more into boots, docs or loafers and ish if im gonna wear some sneakers i throw on some all black since they go so well with my baggy wide leg jeans
Tbh people just have other other priorities rn, I still love sneakers but I rather have all my essentials for life plus we are maturing and kinda growing out of this phase before I would care about what I had on feet now in days you catch me with nothing but beaters
I used to have 30+ pairs, many of them grails. I've sold them all and now only have like 3 pairs I have as collectors items on display (red octobers, 85s, lebron PEs), and only wear shoes that are comfortable. Nike is slowly on the downtrend IMO....you can only sell cheap, uncomfortable, overpriced shoes before the next generation realizes it's not worth it and someone else comes and takes the place.
Sneakers dead? Nahh man if anything its more alive than ever for actual consumers. Resellers sweatin but personally, prices are to the point where its comfortable copping sneakers even in the after market
Sneakers ain’t dead. People are dead because they don’t know what to feel . They look over to they’re neighbors or get on social media only to follow ! Nobody has they’re own opinion anymore they to worried about what others like
There was too much going on and everyone is tired of trying to catch a short wave. It’s exhausting and expensive trying to keep up and with prices going up and trends coming and going every week it’s not worth spending 170-190 retail on a shoes that’s irrelevant the next week. Style is back. Money dsnt buy drip anymore. People (including myself) are okay with venturing outside of Nike.
Sneakers are dying because people are starting to dress better and care more about outfits now it’s kinda good to see but sad at the same time for the love of sneakers
Sneakers have been plateauing, some fire pops up here and there but the peak is definitely in the past as of now.. another peak could happen but for now, plateau for sure
Sneaker game right now: 1. Little resellers are getting crushed. Not really worth making $5 or $10 for all the work. 2. Definitely a time for true sneakerheads to get most of the pairs they actually want. 3. Low key sneaker game is dead to me right now. Nike really killed it when they came out with different colors of one pair every month.
What're your guyses thoughts?! Do you like the climate of sneakers right now?
Hell yeah
Hype will keep dying until there’s another TS1 or YZY
Tiffany and Dior collabs were close. But they’re pretty much irrelevant to average buyers
Yes for sure. Sneaker TH-cam been dead bro I jus watch y’all cuz I enjoy y’all talkin ion even kno the hottest shoe rn.
Just a sneaker recession
would love it if you chime in the minimal story
Sneakers are never going to be dead but sneakers TH-cam has been DEAD for a while
But alot of them still get 10k views and up.. they still paying their bills with your views 😂😂😂
Exactly
Sneakers aren't dead. Sneaker Resale is dead. It's unsustainable. There's 4 resale shops at my mall alone. No one there buys anything.
Yet you’re still watching lol. Lee has been around for yearsssss
Nah nah nah. Don’t disrespect Not Tripping’s TH-cam channel. He’s the GOAT sneaker TH-camr and far from dead. He tells it like it is!
Personally, my purchases/purchasing habits have gone done drastically almost to nonexistent. I’ve already uninstalled all the sneaker apps and resell apps. When you have more pairs of kicks than days of the week. It’s time to sit back and just rock em. That’s just me personally.

My buying has definitely slowed down this year. Every time I want to cop a new pair, I just break out a deadstock pair and enjoy what I have.
I did same-thing beginning of summer rock your stuff it feels good going out and getting compliments on your kicks lol
Couldn't have said it any better myself, just like what I got and don't pay attention to the extra shit I don't care about lol when I want more I can do research then but I don't need fomo on stuff that don't matter to me currently, got lows got highs and got boots so 🤷🏻♂️
Nice to see that the market is more consumer friendly but these retail prices need to drop
Lol that’s not happening it’s only going to go up

Y’all should have 30-45 min vids of these. These 17 min vids of these discussions ain’t long enough.
15:00 - bbj spittin fax. Saw it 10 times

Sneakers can never die. But Sneaker Hype is dying. So Resellers and YTers will feel it the most.
Brandon trying to justify still up selling at the resell store when the market is dead is funny 😂
Facts
I saw that too I was like sike if you think ima give a reseller 40 bucks for nothing lmao
Buying less and being more a lot more selective, I think it's a lot easier to say that when you already have a decent amount of sneakers that you're satisfied with. Still definitely a lot of sneakers in the future I'm looking forward too!

Reselling is dead or dying 😂 its a buyers market right now. And i love it! Copping like crazy for retail 🔥
That clear weather brand went viral like 5 or 6 years ago because future wore them & that gave them hella light but they have cooled off since that initial run
THE GOAT WAS GETTING THROAT ON A BOAT!
Imagine having the same style and outfits as your buddy 😂 a couple people in that table got no style

Clearweather's are dope. I've had the Contera trainers for about 4 or so years now. Great materials, an underrated brand. Shout out to Jonny!
HIGHKEY CLEAR WEATHER is a deep cut. My first run in with CW is 2015/16. At the time it was the VISVIM dupes

We need a video on jeans, skinnys are out baggie is in. But what brands and how to wear them
Cost of living went up. I rather buy groceries than get shoes.
what's the thick flannel thing tan'd qearing is called? new to the fashion thing sorry lol.

Sneaker resale market is dead but I do see more people into sneakers then ever before.
Jonny Jersey/long sleeve combo 🔥🔥
Damn what tee is Ralph wearing the fit is crazy
When did sneaker culture and sneaker reselling become the same thing??? Can someone please tell me?
Ayooo that last conversation had me dead 😂
Happy 10 Years Anni. Congratulations Fam
Big boy Johnny with the Jr Seau jersey 🔥
Sneakers will never die. Sneaker TH-camrs slowed down because the content got redundant. Kids are now creating content that makes sense to them. There will be a new wave.
I've 1oo% cutt back.. also have sold shoes i thought i would never let go.. the prices and resell has turned me off
“Now it’s cheaper for them to cop at resell shops” wtf… or just leave them for people to cop at retail?
As in if they can’t cop for retail it’s cheaper to buy them at a resell shop than on an app
I lost interest in the shoes game when stuff was unobtainable…resell prices were gettin ridiculous. Used to be able to scout ebay for steals but not so much anymore so I just stopped trying. Great time to be a sneaker head 🤝🏽
only for hype buyers and resellers are messed up if buying wat you really like all good!!! its a young person game where prioritys is different
I stopped buying sneakers 1 year ago
What’s the IG @ or website to the “Ch’ld” brand you featured at NW Sole Exchange???
Trainers will never be dead especially in the Football Casual culture in britain
Ralph most unconfident sounding dude ever
Tbh people just have other other priorities rn, I still love sneakers but I rather have all my essentials for life plus we are maturing and kinda growing out of this phase before I would care about what I had on feet now in days you catch me with nothing but beaters
Baja Blast over Jarritos is craaazy, Mexican Coke the Goat tho

mens sneaker collections have devastated their clothing budgets for years. thousands spent on nikes that make you look 15
What hat is Brandon wearing?
Resell prices are down but that’s good so we don’t have to pay too much to get the sneakers we want😆
We need an hour long ones
Sneakers dead? Nahh man if anything its more alive than ever for actual consumers. Resellers sweatin but personally, prices are to the point where its comfortable copping sneakers even in the after market

Sep 3rd Love the team.🥶🧡💙 #ell pollo loco # baha blast taco bell # in out
This was a good one just wish all the side comments when someone is speaking would stop for the person to their point across.
The sneaker market is fire rn
But needs someone like Kanye to come back and inject something crazy back into the game
Exactly there is not enough innovation right now
only fellow resellers buy from other resellers. ain't no end consumer buying no $400 jordan 1's nowadays 😂
Literally couldn’t care less about resellers 😂
Sneakers have been plateauing, some fire pops up here and there but the peak is definitely in the past as of now.. another peak could happen but for now, plateau for sure
Sneakers will not die for legit sneakerheads but only to those resellers.
Sneaker game right now:
