I’m finding this vid a couple years late. But I wonder if you’d share your method for locating the fish? Thanks!

Jesse, I have a general idea of where they are just because I have fished this lake quite a bit. But I also use my electronics to find them and stay over them. You don't need anything expensive but a unit with down imaging helps a lot.

      Thanks for the tip.
Are they always on bottom or do they suspend and different times of the year. Do you usually find them around structure, edges of weeds, etc?

Jesse, there usually on the bottom and suspended to 10 to 15 feet off the bottom. Right now I would be looking in 45 to 60 feet of water.

What were you using. Me and my dad have tried with worms and little jigs with grubs. We have not caught any. What part of the lake was that?

Hi Landon, we usually fish the South end of the lake in 45 to 55 feet of water. We use a few different things from 1/8oz kastmasters tipped with crappie nibbles and crappie magnets, Berkley power worms and drop shotting small plastics like above.. Hope this helps!! Fish on!

That's so awesome! Are they yellow perch or English perch? In Australia we have English Perch, but we usually call them redfin. Autumn (you call it fall) is an amazing time of the year to catch them here too. Great video, I loved it.

Did you use your motor as an anchor?

    • @FGKFishing

Yes, anytime I need to hold position in more than 12 feet of water I use the GPS lock on my trolling motor.
