- Learn to build a scaped moss wall terrarium
As the title implies I have demonstrated step by step the process to build a scaped moss wall terrarium from scratch.
I have used a 3 lit glass jar wit a transparent lid for the build. I fixed riverstones on one of the walls of the jar with silicone sealant. I left it for 3 days for curing and airing out. After that i prepared a paste with dry Sphagnum moss and aquasoil with water and build the wall around the stones. Next I attached moss on the wall and proceeded lay down a layer of terrarium substrate on top of a lava rock base layer. Next I went ahead with scaping and planting the terrarium in my own style which is self explanatory in the video. I also also added a colony of cleaning crew - Springtails at the end, watered the terrarium and closed it up.
Plants used:
Boston Compacta Fern
Selaginella Uncinata
Anubias nana
Pellionia repens
Ficus Pumila minima and regular
Small pieces of riverstones, pine bark, drift wood and sand used for detailing to create the scene

I need some suggestion, I'm facing fog issue on glasses during light is on. What can be solution to it
Thanks. Condensation is normal and is an indication of the water cycle. However it should clear up somewhat during the day and set in again by evening. If heavy condensation remain throughout the day it could be a case of over watering. Certain types of glass can also induce heavy condensation due to differential temperature between outside and inside the terrarium.
Spring tales is only part I’m not able to manage in this entire process 😭 don’t know where to find them
Then you must watch this video

as amazing as always sir
Thank you!
Excellent!!!

Great!
Thanks
Let me start that I don’t understand anything about terrariums.
I find this terrarium very beautiful, but i wonder how the plants can “breath” if everything is closed ?
Thanks. You can read up on closed ecosystems on google to find out how a bioactive terrarium works. Plants give out oxygen during photosynthesis and carbon dioxide during respiration. They create a self sustaining environment. (However not all species of plants can thrive in enclosed spaces) you can also check out the below playlist to know more th-cam.com/play/PL2B6lN6qObdqpxnaF3u30ETDgYVID3PlI.html

Hello. These small stocks that you use are they driftwood or any small dried sticks can be used
These are all driftwood. Regular dried sticks will be prone to mold.

Yes
@@TheUrbanNemophilist thank you , which is the moss used in this video?
so odd mine moss wall , some parts die off , its fully covered tank with slight opening and i mist alternate days
Lindo, Lindo!!
Thanks
Another amazing video, thank you! How can I make my own aqua soil?
Thank you. I buy mine but you can make yours too if you have the black clay available that is used to manufacture aquasoil. It is sold as pellets and I grind it down into a powder for these moss wall builds
Omg thank you so much! I’m literally still watching your video while responding! This is awesome!
Beautiful, a lust for the eye. I only wonder how you maintain the terrarium?
@@paul4088 thanks. You can find a lot of terrarium maintenance videos on the channel to give you and idea
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Where are those containers from and what are they called?
I bought them from Amazon
Bello, wue precio puede tener este terrario, en dolares porfavor ❓ gracias
Another beautiful terrarium! Your videos inspired me to get into the hobby. What mosses would your recommend for a moss wall closed (mostly) terrarium? I tried local mosses, but I live in a temperate region, so they either died off or grew spindly and weird. I'm trying java moss now, but I'm not sure if that's recommended or not.
Thank you. Java moss or any other aquatic moss works well. Also try Hypnum, leucobtyum glaucum, Sphagnum and Fissidens
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi, great build. Doss the soil mixture for the wall dry solid or does it retain moisture? Thanks
Mixed with dry sphagnum moss so retains moisture to some extent
Wow! Do all the plant them go on to live on its own? Grow roots and all that? Thanks
Yes it is a self sustaining ecosystem. Thanks
