That heat escape is a very good idea, I wonder why that never came to my mind😅 btw I did the cement board at the outside ceiling so it wouldn’t look good with the holes in it but you have a good idea. My suggestion what to do after your windows, you do the main front doors, then you go to the plumbing side to pump some water into all your pressure pipes as well as the waste pipes to make sure there’s no blockages( talking from personal experience) to check for leakages before you screed and tile. Please also bear in mind you’d need to do the internal doors before you tile. I get excited every time I see videos on the internet of citizens building houses/establishing businesses back home🎉
I think holes in cement board would work just as well. It is a matter of using very fine drill bits. Thanks for the suggestion also. This is what o love about this space; we learn from one another.
Please using the cement board with the outside ceiling don't you think water will destroy it because I hear it doesn't go with water and may be if it rains it can affect it.
@@Sarpong-family Thanks for throwing more lights on this as I asked for external roofing during by roofing but got screwed by OBI who turned around to ask for 15,000 Cedis to do it after promising he will do it during negotiations. Beware of some of these self-advertised artisans because sometimes they sell what they do not deliver. I think I like the cement board with the perforations and may go with that. I watch these videos to learn so I avoid mistakes
@@abubakarimahamud9549, cement board is durable and should withstand moisture. I was thinking about using cement board but decided against it because the stone mine behind us (and the untarred roads) produce a lot of dust.
The soffit looks good but you could have equally gone for a precast concrete soffit which will last longer. In a long run, the T&J can’t bear the heat and start folding up. All the same it’s okay
Thanks for watching and for the comment! How heavy are the concrete soffits? For the heat, I have some of the soffits perforated so hopefully that helps some.
Thanks for sharing your building experience, it is inspering, keep up the good work. My dream is to build a house on a hill with view. I have through research found Aburi to be hillside land. I am wondering if you can advise on a person/company that can help with purchasing affordable land in the area?.
Thanks for watching and hopefully sticking around by subscribing (if you haven’t already). Aburi is one of my dream locations in Ghana. The weather is very cool and the greenery and the views are to die for. I don’t know any particular person or company to recommend to you. I’m looking in that area myself so stay around. If I find something, I will share that information
Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. I have actually been following you since your first video. You're doing an incredibly work, keep it up. You have no idea how much you inspire. Hope you find something in the area soon. Could you please advise on other areas similar to Aburi?. Have a blessed day.
@@TrueMossi I appreciate the kinds words and for being along the journey with us. Thank you! Close to Aburi are two towns with similar views if you are lucky - Ahwerase and Obosomase. You might get lucky. For now my focus has been on the project but next time I am in Ghana, I intend to dedicate sometime to venturing into the Aburi area myself.
Boss, how much does the bundle of the T&G cost? We live and we learn but I never knew T&G means Tongue and Groove, thanks for that info Man you made me laughed out loud when you said the only way you’ll do the 3 is if you hit the Jackpot, it is possible if that’s your blessing lol. Building is very very hard but as you keep inching away and checking off on your list, you’ll soon finish You can cost the windows from two or three people and make installment payments on them until you go back home and then buy the cement and pay the balance of the windows. This way you can have two of them done at the same time Did you skim the walls after the POP? Thanks for pointing out the perforation on the T&G to allow heat out. These are some of the reasons we watch these videos, so we can learn from them.
Thanks for watching and commenting, brother! We got a bundle at 970GHS but when we went looking for more the following week from same source it was 980GHS. As it is with prices in Ghana, don’t be shocked to be quoted 1200GHS per bundle (we got that from one shop we went to). Amen to that! I have decided to get windows sourced in China so there is that. Because of that, I have get them all in on one shipment. We haven’t skimmed even the P.O.P yet so no, the walls aren’t skimmed. The plan is to wait till screeding is done before we do that.
Your project is coming along very well. The information is shared is much appreciated. Thank you.
I appreciate you, bro! Thank you!
It is looking great Mr Eric 🚀
