    Old guy here. He’s in a class by himself! He’s got all the characteristics of a great QB. The smarts of Brady, the arm strength of Marino, the gunslinger of Farve, the coolness of Montana, and the ability to scramble when he feels the pressure of the rush from a collapsing pocket. He is just about the total package. He’s not a running QB who can throw, he’s a throwing QB who can run. I would think that he will only get better with more experience, as long as he’s stays humble and hungry. As they say in the Navy, “Aye Aye MasterChief!!”

    • @msp5138
      @msp5138 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      He has removed the reckless gunslinging of Farve from his game which is why he has a second SB win.
      Chiefs don't win if he plays as badly as he did last season.

      I like those comparisons “old guy” - puts it in perspective for us other old guys. It’s funny to watch him run, you know he’s not a real runner - but to your point, he’s QB who can run when he must. His style reminds me of a point guard - short stop type who is really good at throwing a football.

    The amazing thing is that not only does Mahomes not have this bird's view perspective (as in video) but he must make these decisions in fractions of a second. His view is 6 feet from the ground with three hundred pound athletes coming after him with full force. He throws around arms outstretched and over linebackers and in front of d backs. Quite phenomenol--

    It was a well balanced offensive effort. They had a running game, a pas game, protection, and when Mahomes did run it was game changing impact moments. For a guy with a very bad ankle he manged that injury perfectly.

    This was a game in which he was NOT called upon to perform any extraordinary feats. You’re right, it was the small details that made the difference - and it was enough. He threw the ball precisely as required - no more, no less. Dink / Donk - whatever they call it, was efficient and effective.

    • @HarbingerOfBattle
      @HarbingerOfBattle ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The key to a good passing offence is the consistent completion of short yardage passes in a manner both quick and efficient. The loss of Tyreek Hill has forced Mahomes to adapt his game and in my opinion he has preformed exceptionally. Ture, the additions of Marques Valdez-Scantling, Juju Smith-Schuster, Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney have helped offset the loss. None of them are as good as Tyreek and yet they still came out of 2022 with not only the best offence in football, but with the most receiving yards they've ever had with Patrick under the Center. Further proving that while having one truly great receiver is a phenomenal asset, a complement of several good quality receivers can pay great dividends all it's own.

    Mahomes does everything better than most QBs do anything. In terms of pure talent, no one can touch him. No not Brady, not Montana, Elway, Rogers, Manning, etc. He isn't likely to surpass Brady or Montana for SBs, but he is, for me, indisputably the most exciting player to ever player the position.
    Pat does need to get more comfortable in the pocket, though. Eventually those legs will wear out, at that point he can still extend his career 5-6 seasons if he improves that aspect of his game and maybe even, if the Chiefs make good decisions regarding talent and coaching, be able to add a couple late career championships .

      From a Chiefs fan there's no denying he was pointing at JuJu on that play in the SB (I hardly call that crying .... if you want to see "crying" take a look at JuJu's reaction to the no-call of being held in the first half on the 3rd down that forced KC to punt for the first time that game) .... but he definitely did NOT "cry to refs" when they threw that last flag in the AFCCG ... he was flat on his back trying to stop his momentum for that late hit well after the flag(s) hit the ground.
      So stop crying and quit letting your hate and jealousy rule your life.

      Without 3 FGs and a throw by the Seahawks on the goal line when they had Marshawn Lynch Brady has 3 rings not 7 so yeah we can say what could have happened but guess what it didn't so move on and appreciate greatness
