the example of Kellogs and the farmer who produces corn ; you have mentioned is called forwards contract, which is signed between 2 parties not regulated by the exchages in other words a Private contractual agreement ....futures contract all are the same but the underlying asset here can be a stock , commodity or any instruments which is regulated by the exchanges #krinu

Thanks for explaining in simple words. Please explain how to use options to use it as a insurance. For example if I have 50K in VGT or QQQ then how can I use options to save my investment during market crash and it will be useful for people who are planning or approaching retirement.
@vijay mohan, I am trying to learn option trading, am going to take a calculated risk which i can afford., I am not greedy to go fast. I know so many people lost money in options. I would like to learn this trading proper way. So if you post a detailed video in tamil, that video will be a good starter for me to learn.

Explained excellently. I have a doubt. When a private limited company has shares with face value of 10 and 1 lac shares its capital is 10 lacs. When it comes to public and gives offer for sale then how share price is valued for ipo. Pls explain sir.
Sir, I will never go to future and option but I have a doubt that is, AMC invests the money we give, in index fund and they are use future and options as a hedging for the underlying asset that they hold on (stocks) and they use this future and option to protect that stock as per asper SEBI rules. I read this in uti nifty 50 scheme information document. We would need to know how AMC use this for their protection and make a video it will be very helpful for index investors.
Sorry sir. I wouldn't share the link. Maybe TH-cam restricts that. If you search in Google "uti nifty 50 index fund SID" you will get a pdf of it. You can read SID. In this SID you can read the derivatives section. That section speaks about amc future and options limitations. This is 83 pages pdf. If you read it fully then make a video about what you learned from this SID. It will be very beneficial for all index fund investors.
Super. Ipdiye neraya video podunga. Unga style of videos enaku romba pudichirku. Video la numerical inputs, sound reasoning, data and charts, ellame nalla iruku. 😌🔥
Sir please we need options full details, don’t skip if likes is less, also we need real-time hedging, like if we think as bull and purchased all in for all the stocks then what options we buy to hedge our portfolio of market goes reverse as down
Very good video! I have USDT in my OKX wallet and I have my recovery phrase. 《pride》-《pole》-《obtain》-《together》-《second》-《when》-《future》-《mask》-《review》-《nature》-《potato》-《bulb》 How do I transfer them to Binance?
As usual, I hit like when the video started. But at the end, I removed it based on the given option by you about the Options😅. "Sila visayangal theriyama irukarathe nallathu" Make videos on other good investment/personal finance/financial discipline, etc. topics.
Wonderful explanation. Please cover Calls & Put also in later videos for our understanding, though am a mid-long term investor, would like to understand these concepts. Also do you have any previous videos on how to invest US direct equivity or good FoF for long term investment? I have Etrade but thats associated to my current company for RSU, ESPP. Thanks
Exp date: Jan 1 2024 Quantity: 1 Kg Price Rs.1000 By the date of expiry, if the market price of corn goes up to 1200 by the expiry date, the seller of the contract would give $200 to the buyer and close the contract. So the buyer has a profit of $200 and the seller has a loss of $200. They do not actually go and buy the corn in the market to deliver it.
Thanks for doing a video on this topic. This is a difficult concept to grasp for most of us. I believe it will be helpful if you use a real market example to walk through this concept again on top of the corn trade example you already have. I felt the comparison between futures and options in the last part of the video was a bit rushed. Btw, I added to the likes. 😊 I would have liked this video regardless of whether you too would do another detailed video or not.
Actually this is a real market example. Just that it is on corn rather than on a stock. Better to understand the concept using corn as an example. A stock example would confuse the novice. That comes as next level topic. And Thanks for the support. 🙏🏽

There is no need for Nifty 50 index fund for hedging. Managed fund may do that, but not index fund. Send me the link where you read that.

Thanks Vijay, so if we have to make a cash settlement of NF when expired, what do we get in return?

By the date of expiry, if the market price of corn goes up to 1200 by the expiry date, the seller of the contract would give $200 to the buyer and close the contract. So the buyer has a profit of $200 and the seller has a loss of $200. They do not actually go and buy the corn in the market to deliver it.
