- www.GopherSport... The No. 3 University of Minnesota Golden Gopher wrestling team upset No. 1 Penn State Nittany Lions in front of 5,603 fans at the Sports Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. With the victory over Penn State, the Gophers clinched a share of the 2014 Big Ten Dual Meet Championship.
No. 8 Dylan Ness had the crowd on its feet after an electrifying victory over No. 4 Dylan Alton of Penn State by fall at 5:23. The Gophers went into the intermission leading 12-7.
Highly combustible material!!
Don't know anything about wrestling and never been to a match, but that was pretty sweet.
I miss the Ness finesse - dude was so fun to watch.
Unfortunately another PennState wrestler manhandled him. He went to the wrong school.
he was one of my jrob coaches he was nasty
@@dohcsmr1175what you mean
Definitely one my favorite gophers of all time
we have our own " Kid Dynamite " here in Gopherland!
pat mcgroin Yeah for sure he puts the funk in Funk. Anway welcome to the Big Ten. As loaded as New Jersey is in wrestling I would think Rutgers will be able to draw top recruits. New jersey wrestling is sick! Good to see another powerhouse state in the Big Ten
pat mcgroin Being in the Big Ten will help the recruiting I would bet. The Premiere conference in wrestling. I cant wait to see some of those studs out of New Jersey wrestling in the Big Ten. Here in Minny land we have a big advantage as we are the only D 1 school in the state. But out East you have so many D 1 schools for kids to choose from. I am excited for Rutgers ! Glad to have Rutgers in the conference that is for sure! Now please get some of the studs that are going to Penn State. They keep reloading
No dis respect to the EIWA but the Big Ten will get Rutgers a boost at the gate give you a broader chance to recruit. Now you will be on these phenoms radar's in the Midwest. It will get the Big Ten in the New York networks and will open up recruiting in those area's as well. Minnesota has great wrestlers but not nearly as deep as New Jersey New York is. J Robinson and Brandon Eggum get there guys from the state but they recruit outside of Minnesota as well. Mario Mason just didn't have what it took to wrestle in the Big Ten. Juggling class missing practice time because class was a problem. Not knocking on the kid . I assure I could never tell what it is like to be in a D -1 room and going to class. I thought he might turn it around at Rutgers. Never met him or nothing so not trying to say anything bad about him. Anything just think what a dual in your home Gym against Penn State, Iowa Minnesota Ohio State will do for the program. Win Win for all partys
pat mcgroin Storley was a blue chip but Thorn and Ness were not actually. I wrestled back in the day. My kids are Varsity wrestlers in Minnesota. Well now more kids from across the country will consider Rutgers being in the Big Ten I suspect
Penn State fan, but I love this kid!
second that
Respect
Penn state fan here. But I must be honest. That was a great move. Always liked watching Dylan Ness. Kid was tough as nails.
Even caught the announcers off guard.
I remember that match, when the ref slapped the mat, the place exploded!!!
I'm a Lehigh fan, but I LOVE this guy!
Dylan Ness is a beast at 157
These two guys look like classic university wrestlers, wrestle like well-trained, experienced university wrestlers, and in one case, at least, celebrate victory in classic alpha-male style. Great match, boys.
Yessir
guy just got caught on the move and it can happen to the best of wrestlers. this is where body awareness comes into play. every great wrestler I have ever seen master body awareness. 2 great schools who produced some top notch wrestler s
Dylan ness is my favorite wrestler to watch
Highly combustible material
Stud
Good thing that other camera was on that pin. The one we were seeing the match with was a mile away with a referee in our line of sight.
Got to meet Alex dierenger, watched him wrestle Dylan Ness, he did a cartwheel takedown. Now obsessed with Ness
1:15 great move and pin
Way to go Dylan Ness.
Just goes to show rankings don't mean everything
I love when boxers try and pretend they are the most in shape athletes. Awesome pin.
I am a wrestler and they are most in shape.
There are a lot of different boxers, someone is in shape and someone is not.
Its just different kind of shape. Different muscle and body movements
Being in wrestling shape is completely different than being in shape for any other sport
The Rico Roll named after The Baltimore Butcher himself.
Bob Dylan voted this video up 895 times.
Nobody beats European Americans in sports. Beautiful.
basically same move that bo nickal used in the finals, though bo's flopped until he bridged and managed to get the opponents hips high enough for a second try (nickal vs martin ncaa 2018 final)
exactly what i thought of when i saw ness do it (although ness did it in 2014, i hadn't seen it before).
Boom!
Can someone explain to me how he roles them that way?
+Jake Timba whizzer the arm that has the leg while kinda trying to headlock them. underhook the opposite arm. sit back on your butt. elevate the leg that your opponent is already lifting in order to get them to flip over you. then you continue to roll back and bump them over so you end up on top.
+dixienormus93 is there a name for it I'd really like to master that 👀
+Devante Anderson gator bacon
also called elevator
In high school at John F. Kennedy, we had a coach named Brad Pike (also gopher alum) and he taught us this move and it was called the hayfield high flyer back then because Pike was from hayfield mn.
commentator sounds like charlie day
exactly what I thought
The Altons underachieved in college.

much excited as one looks on
1:55 💓💜💝
👇👇🔥
did he pin himself at 1:15?
SmutJunkie no, not in scholastic wrestling. Maybe in freestyle style wrestling, maybe, but he was there only for a brief moment, and his left shoulder blade was never on the mat
you cant see. at all.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
a serious blow

Oh yea, and Penn State national champions again!!!!! Maybe next year Minnesota..lol.
Alton is overrated, he and his brother.
Aint no way you would beat him...
Seeing as Im not getting a free education to wrestle, I would certainly hope that I wouldnt beat him. He's not bad, but he is overhyped. He was like #1 the country in high school or something and people were drooling all over him. He's not half the wrestler David Taylor or Ed Ruth are.
bigwaterhunter
Chance Marsteller from Kennard Dale HS would smoke his behind right now and he hasn't even wrestled a collegiate match.
lol....That makes no sense bud. Not even in the same time zone of life
bigwaterhunter
Exactly. I know they aint in the same time zone of life, but even years younger...Chance would major Dylan and Andrew. They are overrated and thats a fact. Chance is gonna win AT LEAST 2 NCAA titles, probably at least 3. The only time he might ever get beat is his freshman year. He beat college kids when he was in 8th grade.
Neither of these punks are gonna get by James Green...oh yea where is he from...NEW JERSEY...LOL!
Green should have watched some tape since he got stuck with the same move...LOL!
Oh yea who else BEAT Ness in the National finals, Frank Molinaro....and where is he from, NEW JERSEY.
New Jersey, that is the State you need to be from. And Frank is a 4 time all American, Two Time National Finalist, and NCAA Division 1 Champion....um...what's your problem chunkey ?
How many AA from New Jersey this year? A whopping 2. Yeah you guys are world beaters all right.
Isn't Mike Poeta from Highwood, ILL, and didn't he wrestle for lLL. and didn't he loose to Jordan Burroughs from New Jersey in the National Finals? Jussayin.....
really gay
I'd like to see you say that to his face.
Why the fuck are you here then
Dean Fucking Winchester Two firm young men rolling around in bulging onesies. Let’s see. Cuz he’s gay? 😆
boy you a punk, and lame as hell, yall rather grab ass with your friends which aint for sport, thats really gay, boy ya name really gay, boy ya picture really gay.
