- My name is Camille Przewodek and I am an Impressionist landscape artist based in Sonoma County, California.
My use of color is what separates me from most other plein air painters. I am carrying on the tradition of Monet, who was focused on painting the various light keys of nature. I consider color to be an equally important component of a good painting. If you have the right color, it is the right hue, value and saturation. I apply my color knowledge to all subject matter. I am known for my landscape paintings but I also paint figure and still lives.
I am Camille Przewodek, an Impressionist landscape artist based in Sonoma County, California. My unique approach to art lies in my use of color, which sets me apart from most other plein air painters. Like Monet, I am dedicated to capturing the various light keys of nature, and I firmly believe that color is an equally vital element in creating a compelling painting. To me, the right color encompasses the perfect hue, value, and saturation, and I apply this knowledge to all my subjects, whether it be landscapes, figures, or still life.
Being recognized for my landscape paintings is an honor, but I also love to explore the world of figures and still life in my art. The versatility in my work allows me to infuse my signature use of color into various subject matters, showcasing my artistic vision and expertise.
Living in Sonoma County, California, offers me an abundance of inspiration from the beautiful surroundings that I often translate onto my canvas. Camelle would you kindly show us a glimpse of the scene that you are painting when you lay in your first color notes? Show it at the beginning so we can gain a fuller understanding and refer back. Im a fan of yours and the Cape Cod School of Art. I have been watching your work since you went on line. I have been painting for 50 years. We gush over all of the Cape Cod Shcool of Art and it's remarkable color theory. We love the computer work that you do. Would like to hear you say what colors you mixiing together to alter the colors. Those inital passes are soo important and sets the foundation of the painting by creating space. Thank you.

I love your work and I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing! Perhaps this isn't your goal, but it would be so helpful to see an image of what you're looking at while you're painting. ... and / or have some sort of commentary on your process. Again, maybe that's not your goal, but these little things would make these videos so much more valuable to your followers. Thanks Camille! Always inspired by your work and process!
I agree with what Michael's comments. I took your week-long workshop many years ago in Provincetown and I love absolutely your paintings. It would be very helpful if you would show the subject first and then explain your process as you paint and why you're choosing the colors you do. 7:50 am eastern time.
