#92 新芽萌え出る「銀杏」をさばく！ 浮世絵 “美人画” のような杢目出現！！ 白肌にぶっささる釘に悶絶！！【ginkgo】Ukiyo-e painting of beautiful women

- まな板でお馴染みの銀杏。刃当たりが良いのでとても挽きやすい木です。今回は4mの丸太を半分に切ってテーブル用に製材しました。2番玉も近く動画up予定です。
銀杏は葉節と呼ばれる節の赤ちゃんのような点々が出やすい特徴がありますが、今回の銀杏は比較的少なめできれいな板が取れました。
途中の杢目が浮世絵の美人がのようで面白かったです。
樹齢50年に満たない若木ですが、一番大きい者で幅70cm超になりました。
丸太からの銀杏の製材をご紹介するのは今回が初めてでした。
以前、きりしま木材の秘宝の銀杏の引き直し→加工をご紹介したことがありました。樹齢500年を超える大物です！！

I have watched many of your videos, and all of them very interesting.The thing that surprises me more than anything else is the different types of wood you are sawing, si many i have never heard of and have yet to find in my many books.
You really do make a very good team, and k am always very interezted in the equipment you use, it seems to work without fault, but i am sure you must get a little annoyed when things like nails and screws turn up as i know just what they can do to the blade.
Really is a good setup, where everything works as it should.
I wonder how many logs you cut per year, it must be a lot, and is always surprising how quickly you get through them.

銀杏の思い出があります。博多の天ぷらやで カウンターの板を褒めたら店主が嬉しそうに話してくれて、節の無い白い肌、軟らかさが大きな音を立てない銀杏のいい所を語ってくれました。
最近では東京の神宮外苑再開発計画で銀杏並木伐採で大きく揺れていますねぇ・・・
あれも切られれば製材は・・・・このチャンネルでものの見方が広角になりました（笑）
前記事では北斎、今度は美人画 浮世絵シリーズ こういう歴史ある和の世界はいいですねぇ・・・
毎度の横道郁之助（笑）ですが 浮世絵と言うと国芳の【宮本武蔵の鯨退治】という画がいいなぁと思っています。ちょいと本流から外れた国芳ですが面白い浮世絵です。このチャンネルで鯨のようだと言った時も白鯨と同時に国芳の鯨を思ったんです。

ぱっと見どこに武蔵がいるのか？？と思うほど画面いっぱいに大胆に描かれた鯨の大きさに圧倒されると共に、国芳氏の思いきりの良さにほぉ～！っと感服！！
そして、そんな体格差でなにができると言うのか武蔵殿…と思って目をこらして武蔵の表情を見ると、自分の剣の腕に一点の曇りもない自身に満ちた表情！！

Beautiful. Trees amaze me. The grain patterns are so unique. How does it happen, what in its genetics makes all those designs, why is one part light, another dark and then different colors? Great job, thanks for sharing.

Hard-grown trees have particularly attractive patterns.
@@kirishimasawmill A couple years ago we had a pretty strong storm that blew over a couple of pecan trees (Carya illinoinensis), took slices of the larger parts and made tables, such beautiful wood. A mix of pastel colors even some blue it. The portion that came out best is where 3 branches all came together. Unfortunately there are no saw mills near here. This area is primarily pines for paper.

No mater where a log is sawn one will all ways have a nail or bolt in it. Here in the us Walnut trees seem to have the most nails in them. Sure would not like to have to replace that size of blade.

In America, walnut trees often have nails in them.
In Japan, there are many trees planted in schools and local parks. Chinaberries and ginkgo trees are often planted in schools.
There is also a stone in it, probably because children used to play pranks.
I didn't replace the entire band saw this time. I checked the part where I cut the nail by hand and made a little correction.

Watching lumbering videos from all over the world, there are various ways to do it and it's interesting☆(*^_^*)
Good point. I can’t help but notice how this couple’s work is like part of the machine. Never a single wasted move between them and almost never even having to say a word. They each know what the next step is instinctively. And just by working smart and using the electric hoist, they don’t have to strain to get the work done.
It seems very inefficient in not training the Woman to carry out some of the jobs he stops the processing for. I have worked with Women in the timber processing industry whom are equal to and in some cases better than the men they work with !
