Some trivia for ya. Gene had what we would these days call a stalker . A woman had a "thing" for him. She said in one of her many, many letters to him that he was the only star in her heaven. He said there's a song in there somewhere so he wrote it.

That's an interesting story, but we have not been able to verify it. What we can confirm is that Gene liked the song so much that he performed it in several films including "Springtime in the Rockies" (1937), "Mexicali Rose" (1939), and "Rim of the Canyon" (1949).
