I loved Vashes song so much I replayed it about 3 times when I first watched the episode. I was hoping you'd double win that. I also feel its worth noting that VA does not get many singing moment roles but I am pretty sure this was not the only I heard and its always good to hear. Way to often the songs are to idol sounding to really feel unique with the voices themselves. On that note I forget if you covered it but "Carol and Tuesday" is probably my fave song anime. Great political story and even better American Idol references along with all songs being the best. Throw in a rival that steals the show more than once and I just cannot think of a better song anime. But I must say that OG subs and in Japanese is really the way to enjoy the songs best.
That blacksmith scene hit me so hard... it really captured that moment when you unlock a secret cutscene in a game and everything stops while you take it all in. ❤️
I fully expect Shangri-La Frontier will become a contender for Masterclass on how to do fights, blend CGI with hand drawn animations, and how to seed lore seamlessly and natural without feeling like lore dumping.
The Rabituza blacksmith scene is, for me, hands-down, one of the absolute BEST moments in anime - EVER!!! Think it deserves even more than just a Max Wins. The VA for Vysache was the stand-out for that episode, handing in an over-the-top performance.
Only Mr. Anime Wins will appreciate the amount of effort the studio goes through in the fights, all while following the journey of such a likable main character. Also, WE ARE GETTING SO CLOSE TO THE WETHERMON FIGHT WHICH IS THE BEST ARC IN THE SEASON I'M HYPED!
to explain how he is the first one doing these things, its because he was the first and only person to have faced a legendary beast and be acknowledged by it. that was the prerequisite to unlocking the rabbitland quest. and the only reason he was acknowledged was because of how long he was able to survive in the fight.
Wasn't also the use of Vorpal Blades an element to unlock the scenario? It does make sense in a special, game event thing. Survive Boss for X Seconds wielding X items.

One tip I learned from personal experience: avoid google searches about this anime. The web novel this was based on is MUCH further along (like 800 chapters further) and searching for the wrong thing will HEAVILY spoil very important plot point. So if you care about that type of thing, be careful what you ask about online.
Easily one of the best animes to come out this year so far. The action scenes don't quite rival Demon Slayer but they get so close and they're great in their own way
Man, I wish I decided to watch this anime way sooner than I did, I kinda blew it off as some bad vr anime cause of the bird head character in the few videos I saw before and I hate myself for that The moment of this anime that made me absolutly love it was the very first scene where Fairia got her head kicked in, just how the face contorted showed me that this was gonna be a quality anime Cant wait for season 2 of this
I said it in the comments for your SLF Part 1 but Vysache's smithing song is the high point of the first two cours for me. Such an impact. I love that the studio gave it time to breathe. Truly and legitimately awesome; both my wife and I had literal jaw-drops the first time we saw it. Not lying when I say it's high on my TH-cam repeat views list.

Shangri La Frontier just got to be the freshest, "best working" anime in the last decade. I can definitely say that I don't use this phrase for a lot of anime, even when I like them a lot, but this one: This is really an instant classic! I'm certain people will still find this anime interesting and up to the then modern standard in a decade.
Such a shame that it was sandwiched between 2 giants (Frieren and Solo Leveling), I feel like if it hadn't, it would've been more viewed. I actually stopped reading the manga when I found out that the anime was being made, glad that I stopped after the Wezaemon arc, tho now Im itching to read it again. 😂
For an idea on how stacked the season this show was airing in; the average weekend from fall 2023 to winter 2024 consisted of Frieren on Fridays, Apothecary Diaries on Saturdays, and this on Sundays. So, there was a good several months where we were eating VERY good over the course of a weekend.
As someone who raids hardcore in an MMO, puts min-max effort into even mid-level trash, and trips over himself to ensure that newbies (especially people I know) have the best experience in the game, I relate to Saiga (Psyger-0) on a deep personal level. Also, I'm pretty sure she has a very bad case of ADHD, and it's adorable how well they've captured the social awkwardness and hyperfocus that comes with!
Wish I met you or someone like you when I was playing WoW, it was always so hard to find a guild that wanted to take me on yet I was pretty good xD For context this is going back to 2006-2008.
This is one of the few video game anime where i’d love to actually play the game. The visuals are great the story is deep and interesting, and the charecter classes are super unusual and unique.
8:34 Slight correction Arthur wants to defeat the Seven Colossi - Wezaemon where as the rest of the PVP guild with fighting to farm him for exp. As even being defeated by Wezaemon nets a lot of exp something that can be harder to come by with the new pvp rules essentially something so reliably.
When you have all these geenric isekais of dude showing up as the hero in anotehr world with some broken ability and a harem by episode 3, having those like Bofuri and Shangri-La that are just laid back, VR game comedy feels so refreshing! And then those madlads cranked the animation up to eleven!
I was disappointed with the subs. 8:40 he said "kuso aneki" but they subbed it as "stupid woman". it should've been something like "shitty big sis", which would then allow the english viewers to understand their relationship. they're not just related through the guild, but also irl.
