We all know that cars have to be upgraded with day to day features of evoluting life. But, say whatever, Old Thar has a Legacy and that Legacy is never going to be forgotten ❤️
tbh... i would take a jimny cos... there's always a service center nearby, its rumoured to come in a 5 door config, and I don't want to wait 10 months for a car....i feel they are fair points.
After completing the spiti trip (Pune to Spiti) we are stuck in Manali from past two days..our 4months old Mahindra got towed due to some OBD Check Lamp warning..the car is not able to pull beyond 1500rpm. The Mahindra service center tried to reduce the soot mass for last 2 days and now they are saying ordering a DPF filter is going to take another 7-8days and we will have to wait for it. Also they are saying fault is with us as we didn't do Regen while we didn't get any Regen warning. They are also saying they can't share the data now ,even after 2 days of analysis. DPF filter costs 70k and doesn't come under warranty. Even we were ready to pay just to join office in time, but now they are saying it will take 7-8days to get the DPF filter. Go for any other SUV it is just a good looking car and will make you feel you are driving a powerful car but it is just the feeling but in reality it is unreliable
The quintessential rear wiper is missing. Given that rear view is limited, they should have put in 360 camera. Also there isn't any inner lining for the hard top. The glove box is a joke. The fuel lid should have surely been remotely operated.
now if only the safari was brought out like the new thar was... bigger and better in everyway... rather than smaller and worse mechanically and missing a ton of features despite being the most expensive car tata sells
mahindra should have provided an electric variant of this car. once the charging infrastructure comes to full bloom. it would be like a bumper harvest choice.

For once, I am really proud to have ordered one,and the fact it's Indian is fantastic. I'm no Jeep junkie but it's such an icon.

Old one looks more rugged and "jeep" like. The new one looks more modern, but lacks that rugged look.
