Loop of monte Robon from Sella Nevea. The Great War on Monte Canin

- Historical excursion to Sella and Monte Robon, on the Canin plateau.
In the places visited there are very interesting vestiges of the Great War.
Selle Robon was in fact the first Italian line as opposed to the Austrian one of the Mogenza Piccola. There are numerous well-preserved trenches, long tunnels, important remains of barracks and a concrete bunker.
The tour starts in Sella Nevea, at the parking lot of the cable car where you can leave your car. You then go up for a short stretch along the ski slope and then almost immediately cross the CAI 636 path which retraces a fascinating Italian war mule track. You go up with a gentle slope inside a magnificent forest until you reach the area of the Poviz barracks. A little further on, at the crossroads, take the CAI 637 path which, always following the Italian war mule track, takes us, through a fascinating high-altitude karst world, to our destination. Anyone who wants can also reach Mount Robon as I did, with an unmarked path that starts from the Modonutti Savoia bivouac. To reach the top, follow red signs, paying attention in the final part to a small collapsed section that can be overcome simply by climbing over it (it makes impression when you see it, but in reality it is easy to overcome) or by deviating slightly to the right, climbing up a large boulder and immediately following up on the opposite side. Exceptional panorama from the top overlooking the Canin, Cima Confine, Rombon, Jof Fuart, Montasio, Mangart and Jalovec. For the descent, if you want to follow a loop, once you come back down from Sella Robon, take the 637 which goes down to a wide plain at the base of the Robon, instead of going up to where we arrived. The path will take us back to Sella Nevea where we left the car

Grazie. Quando sono partito non credevo fosse così bello sto posto. La mulattiera è spettacolare e quando arrivi sull'altopiano è fantastico. La zona di Sella Robon poi è piena di resti e sono molto interessanti. Vai il prossimo anno e non sbaglierai. Primavera e autunno li vedo come i periodi migliori!

Ciao. Tutto semplice per una persona abituata a camminare in montagna, tranne la salita al Robon dalla Sella. Traccia un po incerta e un roccione da scavalcare per evitare un passaggio esposto che da poca fiducia. Questo alla data dell'escursione ovviamente. Ciaooo
Non vedo l' ora di ripercorrere gli stessi passi del mio bisnonno, fu fatto prigioniero Austriaco proprio su quel monte nel 1917. Grazie del video e dei consigli molto apprezzati!
