My first car as a 16 year old while still at school here in New Zealand, and I still have a soft spot for them. One thing I remember is that the big end won't fit out through the tiny bore, so the lower oil ring has to be installed around the con-rod and installed into the bottom of the bore.

I had one of those Morris Eights, back in the Early Sixties, Bought it for Seven Pounds
Went to Rotherham for the weekend, And Sold it for Seven Pounds.
Great Car, it did approx 40 Miles a Gallon.

My father had a Morris eight van in the 1960s I still have the keys for it.
