1:33 No one seems to be giving Billie enough credit for this part. I loved that she complimented Freema, even though she was jealous. Rose and Martha's characters were both amazing and I respected them both so much more because of Journey's End. Even though Rose was bitching at first, things turned around after Martha made it clear she wasn't a threat at all: 'Oh my god he found you.' Their hug was so cute. Wish we would have had more scenes with these two together.
as a child i didnt like martha because she had a crush on the doctor, and he already had a thing with rose. when martha left i kept saying to the tv, come on hurry up martha, leave! but now that im an adult and not a 7 year old, ive grown to appreciate martha for who she is and what a good character she is. series 3 is still my least favourite lol, but its still really good.
I really, _really_ adore Rose. Many don't seem to like her character but each to his own, right? And yes, she has flaws but nobody likes a Mary Sue. I also don't understand why people hate Martha. In Martha's defense, it's just really difficult to follow Rose's act. After Rose, it was quite obvious it would be hard to win us over. And I liked that she left the Doctor of her own accord, that was very brave of her.
That's true, I agree with you. I still don't particularly like Martha as a character, but that's not Freema's fault. She acted her character well, I just happened not to like it. For me, the golden era of Doctor Who was David Tennant with Billie Piper. Rose and the tenth Doctor are my favourite by far, and I'm basically still in mourning that they've gone...!
I feel like it’s the Americans who only like people like Amy pond, Rory, etc whereas us Brits really like Rose, Martha and Donna as they’re more relatable
Rose and Ten (and Nine) will ALWAYS be my Dr Who OTP, because they were my doctors, and their relationship felt special, like, for those versions of the doctor she was the only one who he could have spent a whole life with and the fact that they both considered that future together is so perfect and heartbreaking and they were written so well...
Yes... her leaving was the most heartbreaking moment ever!! She came back, abandoning her family, mickey, everyone, cause she wanted to stay with the doctor till the end of time... she really was special! Also she wasn't posh or anything, just a very regular person which made it soo easy to relate to her. I really wish she had done a year or two more...
While I didn't like Rose Tyler, She did leave a real impact on the show (In a good way) and I love to see how enthusiastic Billie Piper is/was to the role and the show.
As sad as her exit was, I sure do have to respect Miss Piper for having the guts to leave her comfort zone the way she did. And I love that Doctor Who is clearly not just another job for her - like Tennant, she's a fan through and through. And yay for Rose coming back for the 50th!
I never appreciated her until I re-watched her episodes but Donna was one of the best companions ever....both Rose and Martha lovely as they were...never stood up to the Doctor, they always did as he said....Donna whipped him into shape! I love her comebacks for everything!
She's going to have to get over it and watch Season 3, because you have some exceptionally great episodes in there. Including the one that got me into Doctor Who (as with many of us, I'm sure) "Blink"
Aww! This makes me so happy! I always felt she seemed really put off by Doctor Who in her interviews like she saw it as "just a job," but it's heartwarming to know she was really attached to the story, and she's so sweet here :)
@Meangrl19 I believe, as a character, Martha holds her own. She doesn't need defending. I think our instinct as her fans is to defend her, because we see people overlooking how intelligent, strong, capable, and mature (and yes BEAUTIFUL) she is simply because the Doctor did not return her feelings. Simply because Rose came first. If Martha had come first, and Rose breezed in after Martha was trapped in a parallel universe? I dare say things would be different.
@herewaskendra That's very true. Martha does hold her own. I just feel she needs defended because people don't understand her. It doesn't bother me that the Doctor didn't return her feelins and she quickly got over those feelings anyway and it doesn't bother me that Rose came first. What does bother me is when people hate Martha for reason that aren't true and cheering on the death of Martha. Martha was an amazing person and doesn't deserve that.
Matt Smith's contract is up in 2014, so he's got the 8th season left at least. Maybe they'll get it renewed, but I doubt it. 3-4 years seems like the average run for an actor playing The Doctor, so I think 2012 is when we will see the 12th.
But Rose got her very own tenth Doctor. And the parallel universe is super similar to her original universe, it wouldn't be the most horrible thing in the world. She was relatively well off.
iii agree , commme back plz billie , we all love'chaa x'! &miss you loads your the best companion& always will be :D miss yoou loadds :( you and doctor r ment too be x
And now 2012. . . God I REALLY hope Billie/Rose comes back for the 50th I would be so friggin HAPPY and cry a bit and dance and squeal and scream and bounce and hop and. . . well, you get the idea xD
For sure, but David Tennant said something similar about leaving as well. He said that it was better to leave while was still fun then stay on until it was boring. Anyways, you can probably expect to see Rose in the 50th special. If she isn't in it, I'll be cross, because to me and many people she is THE companion of the relaunch.
Billie had the same reaction that every whovian who loved Rose too much had!!! I watched the whole season 3 thinking "Where's my Rose?? I don't want this Martha!!" but later I appreciated Martha, I just had to "make peace with it" like Billie said!!!! ahahahah xD Billie is really amazing!!!
@gunessish Yep, Catherine Tate. Plays Donna Noble as a one off companion in the episode right after Rose leaves, and then later as a full time companion.
I STILL LOVE YOU ROSE COME BAAAAACK COME BAAAAAAAAAAACK does anyone else think that if david decides to come back, she'll be a shoe-in? it was like that for the midnight convention.....
According to her reaction here I'm fairly sure he wrote her out. But it's the nature of the show, they write the Doctor's companions out and even the Doctor himself to keep it an ever-changing show. Speaking of which... I believe Russell eventually wrote himself out to make place for Steven. Also, has it been confirmed that Rose is returning for the anniversary? I haven't really been keeping up with Doctor Who news lately.
I love Billie Piper, and Rose was fine. Great story, hers, and very emotional. But I also really love Martha - mostly because I identify with her. I don't see why there has to be so much animosity among fans of either woman. They're both great. Jeez.
I can see why everyone loves Rose more than Martha, but i still thought that martha was a great companion. She really cared about the doctor and helped him
I liked Martha but she came to the doctor at a really sensitive time...he had just said goodbye to Rose and Donna had turned him down...Martha loved the doctor and he liked her but she just came at a really awkward time...she had great qualities though...she's one of the strongest companions and she's very smart and resourceful...but I did love Rose a lot
Well.. if think about it.. there is a chance of him coming back. For example a time crash like we've seen it with 10 and 5 -OR more probably: the Doctor somehow makes it to the parallel universe again where Rose lives with the human doctor. Remember? I mean.. I'm not sure this will ever happen but since David Tennant is my favourite and I really miss him, I keep hoping :)
The nice thing is she's tucked nicely away in a parallel universe, so through some trick of space of time, we can have Rose and the 10th Doctor back whenever we want them!
Aww.. I love Billie Piper. While I do wish she'd stayed on with Doctor Who and done more, I can understand why she left. It's a crazy intense schedule, and she also didn't want to only do Doctor Who for the rest of her acting career. Besides, even though I didn't like Martha at first, she grew on me, and Donna's epic. There's always fanfiction to cheer up poor depressed fans like me. I still miss Rose, though, and Billie.
Okay then! I've heard she was returning, but I didn't know of an official confirmation yet. And what about Matt Smith and John Hurt? I hope we haven't seen the last of them. Also apparently the BBC hired a guy who looked like William Hartnell to fulfill the role of the 1st Doctor for something related to the anniversary, and really I'm curious about their intentions. But maybe it was just for the stamps and posters and other artwork. And yeah, I really hope it will include more older characters.
I miss Billie on the show. DW is still a good show but my heart belongs to Billie & David. Wait, there's a DW magazine?? IThat's so cute that she has a subscription!
@herewaskendra I'm a fan of both of them and I can't understand the rivalry either. It doesn't even make any sense. You'd think the Rose fans would go bully Joan, Astrid, or someone who was actually competition, but no they pick on poor little Martha. I love Rose and Martha both, but I just defend Martha becuase she's the only one that needs defended.
I suppose, but still, it's sci-fi I think they could figure out something. . . Though sometimes I wish Davies was still writing y'know? He could do it well. My friend and i agree they should (for the 50th) bring back Eccelston, Tennant, and Smith (since he's leaving) and all the compainons I could die happy then, even though they've already sorta done that. . .
@ChristyCullen101 It's called being a human being, just because she chose to leave doesn't mean she won't feel sad that she isn't on there anymore. She's allowed to feel that way, it's not like she said she hates Freema or anything, Geesh, people like you need to back off. Are people not even allow to say their honest feelings anymore.
Everyone knows by now that Rose Tyler is returning for the 50th Anniversary.... And if you didn't know, she's the only "past" companion confirmed to return for the 50th (As far as anyone knows!)... And it's also been claimed that no other Doctors (Doctors 4-9) are returning for the show's BIGGEST ANNIVERSARY YET!! Apparently the Tenth Doctor is the only one confirmed to return! It wouldn't make sense NOT to put some of the great past doctors and companions to return!
Going to leave some Martha love here because I adore Martha Jones.
Me too!!
Martha is an underrated companion, kind of got the short end of the stick story-wise
@@klop4228 she got some of David’s best eps as the Doctor though
My favorite.
I really wish they'd have kept Freema on for longer. She was fantastic.
I know.
Fit af as well the Doctor was blind for letting her pass him by 🥵
1:33 No one seems to be giving Billie enough credit for this part. I loved that she complimented Freema, even though she was jealous. i love her, she cares so much about her character......and has so much humanity damn
They never did have an actual conversation between Rose and Martha :/ (saying "he found you" followed by a big smile doesn't count!)
Rose don't have any flaws at all!
I liked the young rose better in series 1
marius davidsen *Everyone* has flaws. A character with no flaws is boring.
That's true, I agree with you. I still don't particularly like Martha as a character, but that's not Freema's fault. She acted her character well, I just happened not to like it.

sunshine011btru I so agree with you..

She is so gorgeous and has such adorable mannerisms. I'm so infatuated with her.
I love how honest she is!
Absolutely LOVE her honesty! And I'm glad she got to go back afterwards, so it wasn't really over at this Point. :')
I love Billie so much. She's just all round wonderful.
Anyone love rose and Martha
I thought the show would be over for me after Billie left but Freema did a great job of helping me recover!
I love her so much. I'm not even kidding.
Billie Piper was my favorite companion. And when she left it was the saddest. Badwolf!
One of the best episodes
Awwwww, thats adorable Billie. :-3
Billie is so sweet
Aww! This makes me so happy! I always felt she seemed really put off by Doctor Who in her interviews like she saw it as "just a job," but it's heartwarming to know she was really attached to the story, and she's so sweet here :)
She's so adorable

Piper and Tennant For EVER
I love Billie
i love her so much...
river song is the doctor's favorite!
I've been watching doctor who for over 30 years
and Billie your thes best.
@herewaskendra That's very true. Martha does hold her own. I just feel she needs defended because people don't understand her. @luceknight I know. I wold love Rose and the human Doctor to come back. Then we get DT as well as BP.
Not in the least. He absolutely is.
Freema is so hot
just gonna leave it here that she was in a lesbian series where she had sex with someone with a strapon and you can find it online
Christian Parry Sens8

Well, don't be sad for too long, Rose.... 'Cause you're returning for the 50th Anniversary!
Ahhh why Billie why did you leave we loved you
Because she wanted to spend more time with her KIDS. Any good MOTHER would
Trollers are not welcome here you piece of shit!
At least Martha didn't end up stranded in a parallel universe, the past, or brain-wiped. As far as companions go, I'd say Martha WON THE GAME.
But Rose got her very own tenth Doctor. And the parallel universe is super similar to her original universe, it wouldn't be the most horrible thing in the world. She was relatively well off.
iii agree , commme back plz billie , we all love'chaa x'! &miss you loads your the best companion& always will be :D
miss yoou loadds :(
you and doctor r ment too be x
I know, but it's imposible to not miss him :(
rose just return please return!
Technically he came to her. I am very excited to see 10 and Billie back for the 50th.
SHES COMING BACK!! AHHH!

Billie just earned a bunch of respect points for this.

I love how she is honest
@gunessish Yep, Catherine Tate. Plays Donna Noble as a one off companion in the episode right after Rose leaves, and then later as a full time companion.
I STILL LOVE YOU ROSE COME BAAAAACK COME BAAAAAAAAAAACK
does anyone else think that if david decides to come back, she'll be a shoe-in? it was like that for the midnight convention.....
I dont understand why people think Rose had a horrible fate! SHE LIVES WITH A DAVID TENNANT CLONE. WHAT MORE COULD A GIRL ASK FOR.
According to her reaction here I'm fairly sure he wrote her out. But it's the nature of the show, they write the Doctor's companions out and even the Doctor himself to keep it an ever-changing show. Speaking of which... I believe Russell eventually wrote himself out to make place for Steven.

I'll always love Martha the best, but Rose was good in her time.
That was lovely how she misses David.
rose needs to come back to the show and stay on foreverrrrrrr
I can see why everyone loves Rose more than Martha, but i still thought that martha was a great companion. She really cared about the doctor and helped him
Billie is so hot.
@Xwaterwolf100X he hasn't forgotten any of his companions so he isn't gonna forget Rose is he
Yeah, I made this comment when I was about 3 episodes into the 4th series. Donna is one of my favorites now!
I know some word that will make you not sleep for days:
Are you ready for it..Weeping angels...
00:42 was she gonna say ‘that’s the plan’?
Aww she misses being the companion just as much as Ten and Rose do!
2012 and still missing ROSE!
Well.. if think about it.. there is a chance of him coming back.
Ditto. I like rose and 10, but rose and 9 will always be my favorite!
Johnathan Ross, massive comic book nerd, thinking he's above Doctor Who Magazine and sneering at it. You're not cool Ross ok. Everybody can see that!
The nice thing is she's tucked nicely away in a parallel universe, so through some trick of space of time, we can have Rose and the 10th Doctor back whenever we want them!
I admire her so much.. She's so beautiful.. And I love her so much as Rose.. ❤❤❤
Freema vs billie lol both great companion.
Wonderful interview. 🙂
Aww.. I love Billie Piper. While I do wish she'd stayed on with Doctor Who and done more, I can understand why she left. i really dont care what people think, but i'll always love the chemistry between rose and the doctor (both 9th or 10th)
Okay then! I've heard she was returning, but I didn't know of an official confirmation yet.

I am happy we have 11 and Clara
I miss Billie on the show. DW is still a good show but my heart belongs to Billie & David. Wait, there's a DW magazine?? IThat's so cute that she has a subscription!
It's been around before you were even born. I'm assuming. SWAG!!!!!
@luceknight mee too.I love her. she's amazing
Billie has a subscription to Dr Who Magazine!? I love that! :D
She's my favorite lover and loved one of the doctor, too! :)
It's your own fault for leaving us in our tears.
Is it bad I cried more at madame de pompadour episode
See, I LOVE that she loves the show and her role as much as we do. Whyyy did she have to leave?
her character is mentioned loads throughout series 3 lol
@herewaskendra I'm a fan of both of them and I can't understand the rivalry either. It doesn't even make any sense. You'd think the Rose fans would go bully Joan, Astrid, or someone who was actually competition, but no they pick on poor little Martha. I love Rose and Martha both, but I just defend Martha becuase she's the only one that needs defended.
I miss Rose! I think that she should come back with Freema, though it's a little late.....
Sarah Jane Smith, Rose Tyler, and Amy Pond are my top three companions.
THERE'S A MAGAZINE?!?!?!
Yup. I'm looking at my CyberMan 'Cress Head' as I type.
@burdlow She is now on Law and Order:UK. Please tell me, which T. V. show do you act on?
I suppose, but still, it's sci-fi I think they could figure out something. . . Though sometimes I wish Davies was still writing y'know? He could do it well. Me too!
I have this interview on tape somewhere
Her legs *drools*
Do you have to full interview? i really want to see it!!if not, where did you get this clip? xx
you know she was really like ''get off my David''
matt smith, john hurt, billie piper and david tennant are all in the 50th
Everyone knows by now that Rose Tyler is returning for the 50th Anniversary.... And if you didn't know, she's the only "past" companion confirmed to return for the 50th (As far as anyone knows!)... That awefull moment that you realise that she has more screentime in the series then the 9th doctor.
She isn't coming back :/ At the midnight convention she said she's done with Doctor Who
Billie Piper's a nerd, I love it, I genuinely love it!! 😂
But she'll always be the Doctor's favorite...
