- I was fortunate enough to spend most of the past year in New Zealand, where I met The Trenwiths, a Kiwi bluegrass band whose founding members have been playing together since the 1960s. Their family band now consists of three generations of musicians and singers. I absolutely loved playing country and bluegrass classics with them, as well as both my and their original songs. They are some of the most good-humored, good-natured, authentic people I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around. Before I left New Zealand to come back to America, a brought a couple of cameras along to capture one of our jams, which we edited down into this video “The Raglan Sessions”.

Caroline, you are delightfully smart, humble, honest, talented and beautiful. The sound and production on this just makes one wish it would go on and on. As I'm sure Paul Trenwiths agrees, if his smiles and laughter say anything.

It never ceases to amaze me how many awesome musicians there are. Whenever I think I've heard it all.....bam, somebody new.
What a joy to listen to! And watch! Such talented musicians making beautiful music and having a lot of fun! Love it!

A decade ago, post surf session, playing a rare Buddy Guy & Jr. Wells, loud in the afterglow, the couple in the car parked beside mine excitedly remarked they knew that music well, but had never heard those tracks. I gladly handed them 2 CDs cause I archive originals, we went on like little kids about our music - the world disappeared around us, instant connection - their house was on the cliff above RAGLAN!
Still have a standing invitation and 2 EQUALLY rare CDs they handed to me!!! Love Is The Answer.

My dad is a clarinet and sax jazzman, and doesn't have much use for the country genre, but he does respect the musicianship in bluegrass as generally being superior to what was called "hillbilly" when he was growing up. Of the songs performed in this video, "Wayfaring Stranger" was, at least to me, the highlight.

This is without doubt one of the most pleasurable experiences i've had on youtube. I"ve been a fan of the Trenwiths since the 1960s - before those young men were even born and an instant fan of Caroline Jones since i first heard her, last October. This is a fabulous combination in a beautiful setting. To hear them do 'Wayfaring Stranger' and "Rollin In my Sweet Baby's Arms" is a real treat!!! LOVE IT!!!!
Caroline - Wow, amazing where your life journey has taken you since I saw you perform with Kenny Cheney in Atlantic City! So happy for you! Love this video - at first glance it looks like the California coast, but what a wonderful place you ended up at, and made the very most of, during Covid! Alan Jackson did a benefit concert in his hometown of Newnan Georgia two Saturdays ago‼️ Newnan was severely damaged with several fatalities by a F4 Tornado in March. My Daughter is an Elementary School Teacher there and lives in Downtown Newnan, the epicenter, and was spared by 200 feet as the building next to hers was destroyed. This was Alan’s only concert ever in His Hometown‼️
