Ms. Rice as admirable as she is just doesn't seem to empathize enough with people who are struggling. Almost all of her answers seem detached and focused on the excellence that is her life experience and forgetting that not all women have her experience, brilliance or opportunities.
Ms. Rice knows very well how opportunities are not equally afforded to ALL women. Ms. Rice worked very hard to be in her position. ❤ 1:05

Honestly this needs to be geared to Black women. We suffer the most as the "first" or "another" in our professions, as we don't have support from our workplaces and our communities. White and other women tend to get more support at the workplace and their communities. Stop saying maternal health is a "woman of color problem". This is a Black woman problem; hence, why these two Black women are spearheading this initiative... not Hispanic, White, Asians, Arabs, etc. women. We can practice all of the wellness that we want, but that hostile racism towards Black women in all areas of life, no matter how much we achieve...will never change in this society.
You carefully left out genetic risk factors in Black women that contribute to our death rates! Also obesity rates, which would affect other outcomes as well! Hostile racism is absolutely not what's killing millions of people everyday. Show me the evidence for it.
Condoleezza Rice is brilliant. I would love for her to run for president and I would be so proud to vote for her.

The worst secretary of state
Tori Bowie’s death was NOT a childbirth issue - it was a MENTAL HEALTH issue. She weighed 96 pounds, shut out friends and family, the father of the child unknown, erratic behavior, etc. She was found dead AT HOME - not the hospital- by the state who was performing a “wellness” check. She was a remarkable athlete however her child’s death appears to be a result of untreated mental illness. PS I love Alyson and Condeleeza
Uh, pre-eclampsia is a childbirth issue that killed her. She was in active labor. Allyson has addressed both mental health and childbirth issues concerning Tori. Allyson almost died from pre-eclampsia herself that’s why she continues to speak out on it. Black women are 4x more likely to die in childbirth compared to white women. 🙄
