  • Shesherema village in Eritrea struggled with water scarcity, forcing children like Timnit Weldegabir to prioritize fetching water over attending school. A collaborative intervention led by the Government of Eritrea, with support from UNICEF and partners, provided a lifeline: a solar-powered water project with a reservoir, pump, and pipeline network. Now, over 3,500 people in Shesherema and nearby villages benefit from this project. Village elders like Mahder Weldeyohanes highlight its role in enabling children's education. While Leteyosief Kibreab expresses gratitude, the growing community necessitates future expansion. With access to clean water, Shesherema village looks to a brighter, more sustainable future. ‪@uncerf8747‬
