Gerard is so visual and such a visionary. He's obviously great at communicating what he sees or hears in his head and making it happen. I LOVE him in music, but he has so much talent he definitely needs to be big screen acting and possibly writing and directing. Lots of people have vision, but he's able to share his vision so well that other people get it, can contribute, and come up with amazing art.

I don't think ethnicity has anything to do with things like that to be honest.
When MCR was really popular, I was too young to choose what music I wanted to listen to. I wish I could take a time machine and go back and live in the days with MCR.

My Autobiography A Fanfic hence why i said "artists". i'm more a literature kind of person (a literature and creative writing major here) so i appreciate Lorde's lyrics-writing abilities. she doesn't do much musically, that's true, i guess that's why she's mistakenly lumped into the pop genre - her lyrics are anything but pop. then again comparing MCR and Lorde is hardly fair, as MCR had 5 people - that's 5 musical and artistic minds in collaboration, but Lorde is only one person. sure she most probably had lots of help crafting her music but still. there is a reason solo artists and bands are grouped separately.

I remember this airing on MTV right before the premiere. I was so stoked. And the video itself felt GRAND. I didn't speak english and didn't understand any lyric. Now I do, and you know what? My Autobiography A Fanfic hence why i said "artists". i'm more a literature kind of person (a literature and creative writing major here) so i appreciate Lorde's lyrics-writing abilities. she doesn't do much musically, that's true, i guess that's why she's mistakenly lumped into the pop genre - her lyrics are anything but pop. then again comparing MCR and Lorde is hardly fair, as MCR had 5 people - that's 5 musical and artistic minds in collaboration, but Lorde is only one person. sure she most probably had lots of help crafting her music but still. there is a reason solo artists and bands are grouped separately.

I remember this airing on MTV right before the premiere. I was so stoked. And the video itself felt GRAND. I didn't speak english and didn't understand any lyric. Now I do, and you know what? Even though I understand nuances of the words now, the feeling and the message transcended languages. It is hopeful, empowering, bigger than life.
