8:00 The first time I saw death-doom legends Dusk (WI) in 2019 (Reggie's in Chicago, IL) they opened for some younger and totally forgettable modern shoegazy indie-metal band. When Dusk played, I was literally the only person standing and headbanging by the stage for most of their set (???). Couldn't believe how no one else's seemed to know who Dusk was. One of my favorite death-doom bands since the early 2000s and knew of them since 1997 after reading the Dusk 'listing' in an old issue of Resound (Relapse Records mail-order catalog). Highly recommended if you're not familiar!! Met the band and they signed the 'Majestic Thou In Ruin' LP (The Crypt) I got at their merch table. There is some footage of this show on TH-cam also. You can kinda see my black stocking hat on the right side every now and again -ha. The 3 hour drive back home was totally worth it that night!!

But i find most music videos to be pretty stupid and corny, even of songs i Like or even love though there are some exceptions. Both Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson had great music videos in the 90s. A good atmospheric one is Dif-Juz 'No Motion' 1987 (if you like trees and fast images...you might like that one. And I got to mention Fields of the Nephilim 'Psychonaut' 1990 and 'Sumerland' 1991 are both impressive and atmospheric videos. -Devon

Most tribute compilations absolutely suck, but there's a few good ones out there for sure. The standout one that comes to mind is "wizards of gore - a tribute to impetigo" that Razorback released many years ago. The lineup is full of heavy hitters (exhumed, haemorrhage, impaled, mortician, Lymphatic Phlegm and so on and so on...), really worth checking out if you don't have it. Honorable mentions to "falafel grind - a tribute to cripple bastards....and for the real freaks check out "obrade- a tribute to Patareni" !!

Actually witnessed Lord Worm perform the infamous 30 second shriek in 'Open Face Surgery' in 2006 (opening for Suffocation near Chicago, IL). After the scream, he just stood there frozen (eyes wide open) for a good 20 seconds (haha). Everyone was delightfully confused and blown away at the same time... Lord Worm is easily in the top 5 greatest DM vocalists of all time!!
