    The template for all presentations...this is how I wish all the others shops did it, structured and so easily understandable. Thanks.

      haha Hi Justine, It was made by a French maker around the year 2000 to celebrate 20th century music. It is designed to compliment modern music. :-) Maybe we should do a video on it?

      A video demonstration on how it sounds like would be really interesting not just for me, but also for those who may have noticed it.

    Thank you for teaching us about Cellos. My son plays the cello for four years, so I would like to know which cello I can get for a transition, he want to continue playing and who know he may keep it for much longer. I am not familiar with the names you just mentioned or how to spell the names correctly. If you see this message, would you please answer me? Thank you

    • @sydneystringcentre
      @sydneystringcentre  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! Glad you liked the video and thanks for your comment. All of these cellos are our' home' brands, which means some of the the models are exclusive to our store. You may find a couple of them in stores around Australia as well, however they won't be available outside Australia. If your son is doing grade 4 pieces and about to go onto a 4/4 (full size) cello, if your budget allows we would recommend the Schroeder 100 cello. This cello would be a great option for the next few years of playing. Once he reaches a 7th grade level, if he's playing competitively and doing a lot of performance we would suggest upgrading. If he is still on a fractional size then a Schroeder 30J would be perfectly fine, and you could reassess when he's ready for a 4/4 cello. If you feel he is only ever going to play for leisure and not take exams too seriously then any of these instruments would be fine! 🙂 If you aren't in Australia, we would suggest going to a store that specialises in string instruments. They will be able to guide you through their own selection of instruments and your son can have a play to see which cello he likes the sound of. Just make sure that the cello has been setup by a trained Luthier and that your teacher is happy with the brands and store you chose as well. Good luck!

    • @sydneystringcentre
      @sydneystringcentre  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Keith, yes a 4/4 cello should be fine for you :-) Doug in the video would be about the same height as you and he’s playing on 4/4 cellos. Always best to get sized up in person though so that the shop assistant can have a look at arm length and hand size as well. :-)

    The idea you NEED an expensive cello with Larson strings at level 4 or any level for that matter is laughable, slightly ridiculous and totally misleading

    • @trabouliste1037
      @trabouliste1037 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Any good artist can play on a cheap cello and it sounds great, but nevertheless there is a big difference between cheap and advanced cellos!
