E-FMX Session in LAAX with Mat Rebeaud | SnoMX

- Former Red Bull X-Fighters champion and five-time X Games medallist Mat Rebeaud has taken eFMX to new heights as he tackled a set of unique hand-built obstacles around the world famous Laax snowpark for the SnoMX project.
Rebeaud has been riding since the age of four, inspired by a long family lineage of MX riders, with one of his first exhibition sessions at the resort of Laax in the Surselva Region way back in 1999.
The Swiss star finally fulfilled a dream last month to shred massive obstacles on an eFMX, an electric remodelling of the petrol crosser that won him a raft of medals and titles down the years.
This SnoMX project would not have been possible on a regular FMX bike because of environmental regulations with the 38-year-old explaining it "is cool because there is no noise, no smell and no gas."
The Payerne native, who first tricked on the cutting edge electric vehicle back in 2019, added: "For me, a Swiss guy, it's so amazing to ride my dirt bike in Laax like a snowboarder or skier."
After a whiteout test day where the mercury tanked at -15c - which Rebeaud described as like riding blind - the sun came out on Laax and his custom-built rail, picnic table and mega ramp for the shooting day.
There is a fine line between sticking a trick or bailing with Rebeaud's studded tires navigating the 23 metre run-in and steep landing as he "board slid" his homemade rail and pulled off a picnic table endo.
Rebeaud revealed: "This is the hardest project I ever did! SnoMX was such an incredible experience, riding the perfect lines of Laax. It proves what these amazing electric machines are capable of."
A Laax spokesperson enthused: "We were so pleased to be able to help Mat, his eFMX and crew achieve this groundbreaking session. Laax is committed to a sustainable future for mountain sports and this is another outstanding step forward for both sports and a better planet."

take a look on the Pohlbock eBock, its a german MX-eBike based on a Huski Frame, 350h without "engine-maintenance", 15 min racetime/ 90 min as average hobbyrider, 1200 charges without capacity lose

So glad to see e mx bikes being utilised to push the boundaries, inner city mx and enduro is now possible due to the low noise pollution.
Fr. Generally I do prefer our normal engine but e bikes open the gates for some new riding. Urban riding, enduro, you name it.
