The actor playing Gomez is supposedly Afro-Latino/x/e. Miss Weems is a character, a babysitter, from a 1956 comic panel. The Addams Family raised piranhas in the 60's TV show. I enjoyed the series despite not liking the IP at all. I agree that this is the darkest version yet. Hope you like it.
I think you guys are going to have a lot of fun with this show. Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, etc.) worked on it and it's got a ton of his signature flair combined with a pretty compelling murder mystery that had me hooked the entire time. Plus Jenna Ortega's performance as Wednesday is really entertaining Also since you mentioned _Matilda_ , you should check out the new musical version that was released on Netflix last month. It's pretty wild but really well done

Obviously we understand most of the dialogue because that is the basis of our conversations. I will say it is kind of hilarious how you ended your comment with "It's disrespectful" as if you were my grandma or great aunt of something. 😂 Did I just offend a family of mine that I didn't know about or something???
