I'm not sure if the people working at the abortion clinic know what they're doing, since Jane ended up having sepsis afterwards and Natty, the girl in the first ep, died from bleeding out from the uterus :(
I don't think he was stating his stance on abortion, I think he was saying he didn't know if it was right or wrong for her do be doing them illegally. As you can see, Jane suffered from sepsis after the procedure and the girl in the beginning died! They are obviously not following sterile precautions or monitoring patients after. I also think the police told him about it to support the idea that Jane committed suicide because she had an abortion and was depressed. But who really knows, it's a pure rollercoaster ride at this point and they are revealing evidence bit-by-bit. But I Love it!
With this kind of context it makes sense that he wouldn’t have a stance on the legality of the matter. I agree. I’m loving all the twists and turns so far! 😁

Abortion is still illegal in Thailand (except some serious medical reasons and rape case) and lots of people still believe that abortion is a bad sin. I’m in a medical school though this is still a huge discussion
ps.this scene was brought to a lot of discussions after the broadcast. having a web dramas mentioned about abortion is quite huge here since the abortion law is on the process
I totally agree with you about what Dr. Bun’s opinion about abortion. I feel like what Dr. Bun was saying is a reflection of majority of what Thai society thinks about abortion. Very passive if it’s not my problem. Actually, I feel like the series so far is true reflection of the dark sides of Thailand.
I’m enjoying learning about all this so far. It’s very interesting!
I still don't get the "police" showing up... first of all they aren't in uniform, and is that not a regular ass van?? They're just soooo suspicious to me i don't know what to think at this point, especially the short one!!

Abortion in Thailand is discouraged by law, but is not banned outright if specific criteria are met. Once strict laws have, over time, eased to take into account high rates of teen pregnancy, women who lack the means or will to raise children, and the consequences of illegal abortion, Abortion is illegal except in certain in circumstances. By the letter, the law allows termination of a pregnancy by physicians only (1) when abortion is necessary due to the health of the pregnant woman, or (2) if the pregnancy was the result of rape.
Very interesting. I wonder if they’ll further explain that in the series since they arrested the nurse. It feels like a good opportunity to discuss the reasoning behind Jane’s abortion and whether her pregnancy was due to rape.
@@ReactionsByJavi Yes, So nurse should show evidence or prove that Jane or those woman were raped really(That some girl might not been raped) , but I think that nurse(Fah) open illegal abortion clinic. Actually those woman should go to hospital to consult the doctor rather than come to illegal abortion clinic, and many Thai pregnant woman(especially young girl) like to go to that place where it's wrong and not hygiene

Pat was shot to death. He was murdered & had alot of people that didn't like him because of the kind of reporter he was. The police would probably investigate his house to search for potential evidence that could tell them who killed him I think.
Yes, that makes sense. But what doesn’t make sense is that they’re doing it in the middle of the night, alone, in plain clothes and without any other personnel to assist with fingerprints or any other type of lab assistance. I’d think they’d do that during the day when there’s sunlight and in uniform. But who knows? 🤷♂️ Still loving the twists and turns. 😁

At this point , I don't think Tan knows something about the case, but he knows someone, let's call him person A. Tan knows that person A knows something about the jane case. Or atleast Tan has some power(money?, position?) with which he can get information. Either ways, Tan may not know any more than Bun does, but he may have the power to know more.

I agree with this. I don't think he knew the ins and outs at the time but had suspicions and knew someone, Person A, who does know something. He is involved in the sense that he may have connections with the bad guys but isn't directly involved in what has happened.

Yes but it’s obvious that she’s being held against her will. The “boyfriend” line was used to insinuate consent. It’s a whole mess. 😫

Hey..I think that Jane's sister maybe, is the culprit..I don't know why but her behaviour is sometimes strange. In ep 2 when she comes to the place where Jane was dead..she was wearing the same dress as she wore at that party..I know this is not a big point..but didn't she change the dress ? The dress was definitely not supposed to be wore while sleeping..Jane died after the party. Her sister came and shouted who died , she talks with bun and in ep 7 ( spoiler but she asked bun to tell her abt any evidence..I think she was weirdly curious). And other things happened too...God Damn I am confused

At this point in the story, i thought inspector M and his captain were mostly being pawns, while not really knowing what was going on behind the scene. they never really showed how inspector M could be further involved.... although, each time inspector makes a move while not in uniform... i wonder....... maybe, when he isnt in uniform... he investigates behind the police back.... Moreover, why did he let them go at Pat's hosue? M was not there on official business i believe....

On the abortion thing, i think what Bun was trying to say is he will let the police decide if legally it is right or wrong.... he might not have been talking about his own opinion. But i do understand your feeling and opinion about that line.

I assumed she was living alone maybe her parents are working away and sending her money while she finishes here finale year at school before she's off to university. I should add especially if she's from a poorer family or has lost a parent.
I personally don’t condone abortion but if it’s needed for whatever situation they need a certified doctors or nurse to do this so that those women don’t hurt worse. It is the women’s body and if they need to they need to.

He cann't say anything because he is a doctor and could loose his livelihood as Abortion in Thailand is only under 2 circumstances. 1) When the mother's life is endangered by a pregnancy and 2) when a woman has been raped.
Also an aside to this which is very interesting at the time of shooting Thialand was looking at their abortion laws and was a very hot political issue.

I'm wondering and have been since I first watched the series does Thailand have the same regulations as in the UK were a patient can dischare themsleves and have to sign a form saying they will not hold the hospital responable also a patient here has every right to just get up and leave if they wish.
Also the police hadn't arrested her so they don't have to wait for the police to allow her to leave the hospital.

Your comment regarding abortion really hits home at this point, particularly in US history, where that right is being taken away from women. I find this episode to be very timely in some ways. It can show’s the horrible consequences of not having that right and how seeking out an abortion illegally can truly lead to some horrible outcomes.

Nurse don't provide abortion service. That was so not legal that even door wasn't marked with: don't disturb. People can't just drop by during doctor's apointment especially about let say privet parts specialists. As nurse she is no more capable (by the law) to do abortion then u or me. No knowlage, no diploma. She would be way better then us to help lady who gives birth to child but abortion is a no no!
