for sure! it has been on my list since I arrived to Moscow, but it was pouring outside every weekend, it is better to go there in the morning at saturday and sunday
Lovely vlog Lisa!! So many interesting antique items! I can spend all my day there! It was like going back in time, to Soviet Union. I really appreciate your choice of music. It's so soothing! Lots of love to Russia, from India.
Great video.. Flea markets are fun. Largest one I ever went to was in Paris many years ago. Here in NYC we have several small ones on weekends. The work is really hard for the vendors especially with large items, unpacking and packing, all in a day. Best choices early, best prices right before closing.
I went to that flea market back in December 1994. It had all kinds of crazy stuff. 2 women were selling kittens and they had the mom so you could see what the kittens look like when they are grown up. They were a blueish gray with fur like a kitten. I wanted to buy one but passed because I know that kitten would spend 6 months in quarantine. Some guy was selling knives and one of them was on a heavy spring and he took me to an alley where he shot the spring loaded knife that went like 50 feet. I'm sure that would be illegal in America.
@@MichaelDeMersLA I don't look at either country as being better or worse. People in both countries are very lucky to live in countries that have beautiful landscapes, plenty of food and clean drinking water. I think they are very different and will always be different. I would not want America to change to some World Economic Forum/UN Agenda 2030 standard and I don't think we should want Russia to change either. I do think Russia has a much stronger and competent leader than America right now. America has a demented old fossil who goes around speaking gibberish and sniff kids. As an American I am truly embarrassed of my president and I'm lucky I can say that. I think America is the greatest country in the world regardless of our leaders and I hope Russians feel the same out their country too.
As a lover of analog film photography myself I can only imagine the excitement @ 9:23 seeing your LC A on the table. Thankyou for letting us hear the shutter operate.
That's what really caught my interest in Russia in the first place, was the similarities between Russia and Canada with its nature. If you told me that you were in Canada while you were walking through that park at the beginning I would have believed you.
Hi, Lisa! I look forward to seeing your photos taken with this Lomography LCA camera. Maybe you can start a website of your photos too. I also love taking photos with my film cameras.
Those street market furs are awesome. Before fur prices fell out, I was hunting coyotes and selling the carcasses to regional buyers. I was told they whole saled their furs to Canada before ultimately going to Russia for use in winter clothing.
Russia has been a supplier of furs all its life, why would anyone need mangy coyotes in Russia? It's full of huge wolves with great fur. Only in connection with the development of modern synthetic materials, the popularity of furs in Russia and the world has fallen dramatically in recent years. I suspect that you were just joked about. Importing fur to Russia is like importing oil or timber. There is absolutely no benefit.
@@OLEG-gt2yt Nobody sells or buys mangy coyotes. Only high quality fur sells and that is only during northern cold winter months when the fur is prime. Mangy coyotes typically freeze to death in winter anyway. Coyotes are extremely plentiful and only native to North America, much more plentiful than wolves and cheaper. In many states they are completely unregulated to hunt. Up until covid, prime coyote carcasses were selling to wholesalers for over 100$, unskinned. Some years much less. Canada had a market as did Russia. Maybe fur will never be as popular as the 1800s beaver hat trade, but trends and tastes of consumers are always changing.

I sure hope you can share some pictures with your real film camera that connects you to your past. How will you get the film developed? Great video. The music in this video is very nice. Poka Poka 😍📸
A marvelous choice of music for your video, from roaring 20s style to spirituals to ragtime piano, all retro and antique, just like the items in the Russian flea market. The antique Moscow market is fastastic, unusual and very unique. The sun is setting much later here, too, at about 6:40 PM. We are getting a taste of summer today in Michigan, with sunshine and temperature at about 24°C. Congrats on finding your Soviet film-type camera in Paradise-land. It's been a long time since I've heard those mechanical clicks and winding sounds. Looking forward to seeing the film photo creations you choose to share. Maybe pictures of stretch Hummer limousines, drunken people and beautiful blushing brides? ;)
At 12:02 the menu was interesting for me to increase my vocabulary of everyday Russian language. But unfortunately the full manu was not shown, just a quick glimpse. Some clear still shots could be added so all could be read properly and its also nice to know the prices of food.
Thanks for doing everyday tasks too, so we can see what it is like there. Since you missed the walrus in Vladivostok, if you see a petting zoo maybe you could feed a goat or deer.
