Hey Driver. Good to see you. So glad you were able to drop by to check out this evening's upload. Do you agree with the 5 habits I mentioned? Love to hear from you.

You're preaching my mantra! Being relaxed on the job is a lifesaver for me. Being accepting of the fact that there are boneheads on the road everywhere, just shake your head and move on about your day don't let them ruin your day. Great content, Dave, great job.

I used to tell my fellow drivers that if you allow the people you work for to push you around, that's all you will ever be is a push around!

Thank you. I’ve been driving for four years. I’m new to OTR, however. I’ve never had a mentor. Your videos mean a lot to me. You do God’s work. 👍

    Great video!
I’ve always been of firm belief that there are certain people in this world that are meant to be truckers, and are destined to excel as great drivers…
and also that there are certain people who just simply are *not* meant to drive big trucks, and no matter how much training or guidance you try to give them, it’s just never going to click.
This isn’t a job.. it’s a way of life. It’s in your blood, or it’s not. You have the mentality for it, or you don’t. Simple as that. If you don’t have it in you, no amount of training will ever change that.

Great words of wisdom, Dave. I have to work on the stress part at times. People out here are crazy, distracted, and sometimes just plain dumb. Some of them are even truck drivers themselves! I saw at least 3 drivers last night weaving because they were playing on their phones. Shameful. It’s hard not to get stressed when this is going on right next to you!

All so very true. Lastly, but not nessasary. Polish that chrome & stainless. Spend a few of your own $ at a chrome shop. Present a good image of yourself & the company. You'll fell a lot better about the job.

I haven’t been DOT’d in over 8 years I believe because I keep my truck clean (except for now because the weather has been crappy!) and polished.

Awesome Video, having an awesome trip from Florida to California no stress whatsoever I've learned to find the off-the-beaten-path truck stop it's so much easier to park and take your break when there's only four other trucks on a lot that's big enough for 500 trucks vs. Jam and everybody in one spot and a loves or a pilot that's just crazy LoL and the food is usually better maybe you're not so much on my last visit but that's okay.

My company never pushes me. In fact it's just the opposite. Every week they tell me if I want to slow down just let them know. Unfortunately it's possible for me to get rid of the one thing that causes more stress than everything else combined. They won't let me drive without having an elog in the truck.

My old company used to push me. They were short drivers. I eventually quit because of it. I realized if something happened out here because of it. I am screwed not them. My license is screwed and the company just gets another driver. Newbies remember if you can't do it safely and legally say no it is not worth your career.

I've worked hard to keep my license clean and leave the drugs alone I've got everything except my hazmat cause I just didn't want the damn aggravation with them and I can tell you from experience especially with the way things are right now if you do the same with your CDL you'll never have trouble finding work been trucking going on 20 years now

Good Stuff really good !! Just don't forget so often ITS JUST PLAIN BULLYING !! Drivers need to be able to pick there battles and the place to Do the BATTLING then one word is key its NO !! and be prepared to back it up NO and if needed be ready to Go say Goodbye and Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish on to Home then the next better job

I don't know how truck drivers do it, from my point of view, it's got to be a great big pain in the rear end in tight traffic
