I'm so proud of you.
When I was high school in the mid 80s I wore my oversized sweater with a huge v-neck backwards and I was harassed about it. I also wore my pulled sweat pants Inside out so the soft cotton side was against my skin.
I've now watched over the years designers doing this on purpose and those same people who gave me grief over it purchase them.
I wore my dad’s v-necks like that in the 80s too!
I wore oversized sweaters in the eighties too (often backwards v/necks) and I often paired them with an ultra ling belt that doubled over my body. I would wear leggings or fishnets with boots with them. I loved the look and wish I could find a belt like those again. I have looked and looked and looked and just can’t find them anywhere. ☹️
Using a blow dryer on leather shoes will stretch shoes too. And organizing your closet is soo key!!!

bikini tops that tie behind the neck are great for backless tops,dresses and plunging necklines if you dont have the right bra. And most of them are pretty enough that it doesnt matter if you catch a glimpse of them.

That Janet Jackson Shower cap hack is a good one indeed! For any of you who have been dress shopping in the finer shops around Europe will surely have experienced the draping of a big silk scarf over ones head before pulling garments over ones head. There is always a scarf draped over a hook in the fitting room for this use.🧣

I used to do this all the time and I used to wear my moms adorable cashmere button down sweaters from the fifties backwards as well. They were so figure flattering. ❤️❤️❤️

If you get deodorant on your clothes, use a fabric softener sheet to remove the stain. I do it all the time. 😀

The clothing tip I want to share is when you have gotten dressed, left home already, and realize that you have gotten deodorant on your clothes is to rub the marks/stains out with the same piece of clothing. Ex: rub sleeve cuff on underarm, hem of garment on the area where the deodorant is. Silky fabric, use the underside of the very same garment. You don't need anything else. I hope I explained that well. 😊

Organizing by color, I put black, grey then white and so on as you describe. That way black, brown and navy are in separate places and there is no difficulty finding the right dark color.

I've used this hack, if you're away and you need to hem some long pants, get hemming tape, and if you don't have an iron, use your flat hair iron to secure the hemming tape. Don't hold it on the fabric too long to avoid burning the cloth.

I have to mention JJ's wardrobe team, who did the shower cap over the face hack (they're not originals) - they took that hack from my Jamaican mum (who would have been 86 this year) - she would use a carrier bag - Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury - any type of carrier bag, she could get her hands on and she passed that hack on to me, haha!! :-)

I dont know if its a hack but i just throw my items in the dryer for a few mins and then remove them n hang them on hanger while still warm n all the wrinkles come out.

Tip for girls/women under 5 ft (I'm 4'8"): if you cant find a petite verdion if a pair of high rise jeans, if possible try a "basic" (non-petite😉) mid rise version of the high rise jeans you want and they most likely will fit like a high rise. The insesm might be too long but that is an easy fix, either with fabric tape, a snip with scissors or a bit of handstiching/simple sewing👍🏼
like she said, just be very careful microwaving the boots, since many shoes have a metal blade-like piece in the heel.

I do hang cardigans if they aren't super heavy. To keep them from stretching or creasing, I tie a toilet paper roll over the hanger so the shoulder doesn't crease. You can also run hot glue down the center of it, let that fully dry, and it will prevent things from falling off the hanger or just put a couple rubber bands around the top roll once it's on the hanger.

When I take a Caribbean vacation I only take swimsuits, shoes, hats, jewelry and scarves. Easy peasy packing. You just tie your scarves like sarongs and dresses. You will never run out of options. Try it. You will never overpack again. 😘😘😘

I love the back-to-front hack! I have a nice heather gray V-neck sweater, and I’d had it for years but wasn’t reaching for it as much. Maybe three years ago, I thought to wear it back-to-front so the deep V is in the back. That’s the only way I wear it now!
I also have a wrap top that I bought that was a bit snug across my chest (I’m busty 🤷🏾♀️). I exclusively wear it back-to-front.

My fave hack are 2 different: 1 is of you have a wide leg trousers (coulote to long) take a rubberband make a ponytail on front or back at the hem ofcourse, tuck it under the hem é voila a different silhouet . 2 = when wearing an oversized shirt & when you wanne have that relaxed vibe of when the buttons are open from waist to hem but it only gives it that vibe when you move, take a safetypin and take the point where the lowest button is then take ut to the middle inside (and pin it on the inside , so you don't have to wait on wind or moving

Hmm, I didnt know about that jean and deodorant hack. I'm going to try it.
For stretching leather shoes, I pour hot water into the shoe (so I don’t mess up the outside). Leave the water in there a few seconds and pour out the water. I then massage the leather on the inside of the shoe where I feel like it’s the tightest to loosen in up a bit. Let it properly dry, and then there is a noticeable difference in the comfort of the shoe

Use white vinegar and baking soda to defunk your clothes especially for mildew smells. Throw in the washer with white vinegar and baking soda. Also this is also a standard protocol for bath towels.

@@KarenBritChick for bath towels I use a cup of white vinegar and maybe half cup of baking soda. For mildew smell clothes I use a lesser amount depending or how many items I’m washing. But even if you use a lot no harm will come. Also helps with Pitt stains and rid your shirt of deodorant stains. But I can’t take credit for it. I found this info on The Laundress website.

Congrats on the clothing line! I wish you great success. I know it will be so. Ok so a tip about the underarm deodorant residue (one person suggested jean material): I use rubbing alcohol. I keep it in a little spritzer bottle and I can either put on a cotton ball and rub on the residue or I can spray directly on the stain depending the shirt and how careful I need to be. Also for sweat stains, use hydrogen peroxide by combining 2 tsp HP with 1 tsp dish soap and 1 TP water. Mix then soak stain in the solution over 30 minutes, gently working solution into stain. Rise warm water thoroughly then let dry in sun.Ok well, I still love watching your videos!
9:30 Well known tip in the Arts performance world. If you're worried about suffocation, just put a hand towel over your head.. Does the same job.
I think less about color and sort by style/weather. Longer tops together for when I'm wearing something really fitted on the bottom and need to cover my bum and shorter for if I'm wearing jeans or a blazer over it. Sort each section by sleeve length and thickness (winter weight on the left type thing) I have a section for 'nicer' if I'm dressing up a bit (fussier blouses, sequins, etc) and a section for dresses/anything long. Also have a section for over-wear like vests, blazers, cardigans organized by sleeve length (separate from outerwear which is in a different closet so if I don't take it off indoors, it goes in this section). I'm more likely to dress by weather than color as most of my wardrobe colors would be pretty intermixable. A black/white/grey bottom can go w/ pretty much any of the tops for instance. Even aqua pants can go with black, white, red, navy, salmon, patterned, pretty much anything. I started doing this when organizing by color wasn't working for me because I'd have 25 black items all together and it's harder so sort through in closet lighting and I don't always know what color I want but I do know the weather/style I want. I like all the colors in my closet so that's less important. If I want a short sleeve black top, it's easier to find in the short sleeve section next to the red one where it stands out. I actually make an effort NOT to have two things of the same color next to each other esp black or white. It's so much easier to get dressed this way, for me.
I am the same. A group by occasion and sleeve length. I have a separate closet for out of season items
New styling hack : use a wrap dress and tie it in the back to use as a long cardigan /kimono 🤩 let me know your thoughts on that

High end department stores always had those bags to cover your face from getting makeup on their goods. They really could care less if your rouge and lipstick gets smudged.
Have you seen Trinny's hack?. Only works if you have longish hair. She flips hair to the front, puts on the shirt and flips hair back again. Works very nicely for me.

Karen, Love your hacks-many that I will do. I remember you man suit and the fasten in the loop to make cloth too big. I have used that on my pants that may be a little to big. Your first post regarding the description arrow, telling the location, I am guilty, didn’t know until probably several months ago. I would just rewatch the video and check the sites to find it, or thrift stores for inspiration. I am a older woman but your style is amazing. I adjust to my comfort level.
