I started collecting football kits way back in 1975/76. As a Newcastle fan, I started with the round neck Umbro one then the collared Bukta one and the home and away 1977/78 new Bukta design. I also had the Everton "Hafnia", the Liverpool Hitachi and somehow my gran got the Coventry "Talbot" shirt. My best foreign ones were a 78 Ajax, a 78 Argentina, 1981 pinstripe Russia and what I believe was a match worn Juventus shirt with number 8 on the back. I found it in a second hand shop in 1986 and it was minging. It cost me £1 because of the state of it. It was Kappa, had the Ariston sponsor and 2 gold stars with no shield. I did a bit of research and it could have been worn by Boniek. Sadly, I sold the whole lot when I was skint back in 1992 for £100. Great channel by the way. You've got some beauties.
that was some collection of shirts to be fair. The price of £100 seems bonkers cheap today, but back in 92 but the interest was much much lower then so (aside from the Boniek shirt) it was a decent price then for them as a job lot!
Good to see you Peris. Some nice bits yet again
Cheers Glen - funny how these things turn up after 25 years of searching for the Oldham shirt, and 40 years for the medallions!
What a stunning example is that Oldham shirt peris
Yes - relatively simple shirt, but the diamond tapering and stunning embroidered badge turn it into something quite amazing!
A classic shirt that typified that era and I'd imagine it will be a long time before you see another.
