Omg, the Misty and Stormy models are designed to look like the real horses they're based off of. You can see the real stuffed bodies of Misty and Stormy at a museum at the Chincoteague Island.
I'm pretty sure drinking brandy and putting together a barn doesn't mix too well! Also, the comment about Brookside Pink Magnum's "anitomicalky" correct parts was gold! X'D

Some people have WAY too much time on their hands. These models are hand painted. So no two are identical. I have several Misty and Stormy models and none look the exact same. Granted the old horses were different to the fee. But they're not knockoffs. And I always loved reading Margaret Henry books. They are not inappropriate. 😂😂😂
There are crazy people in this world. And to that one lady who didn't like Brooksides boy bits? I pray she never sees any of Breyers bulls. She'd probably faint dead away.

I don't understand why people get so upset about natural things like that. Breyer makes these models to be realistic, and that's the way it is. People would also gripe if they weren't realistic enough.

Reminds me of my younger sister. When she was like 5 she loved to look under the belly of my breyers, saying "this one's a mare, and this one's a stallion, look it has a pee-pee!" It was her everyday game😂🤷🏽♀️

Oh. My. Gawd!!! That last 'review' made my brain hurt!! But I LOVED the responses to it!! Just too darned funny!!!
Regarding the colors of Misty and Stormy... since Breyer reuses molds, colors and markings are pretty much the only way to identify a model as a specific horse. I agree that the new ones have the wrong color to ‘be’ Misty. At some point you have to admit using the wrong color is a slipping standard, not a company feeling like it shouldn’t have to use the same color year after year.
Also, the map markings are integral to her. The new one pictured here could be any horse really. Sloppy.
I don't think people realize that this is a mass produced model so no two are not going to be exactly alike. And Breyer has changed not only the type of plastic the models are made of but also the paints used, so there are going to be differences. Though I did notice in the new boxed set that while Misty has a more refined muzzle there was quite a bit of seam residue on her nose and under her face.
That "seam residue" is called flash, and yes, it is a defect that shouldn't have gotten past quality control. Used to work in an automotive plastics factory. It could be worse--you could have underfill, which is exactly what it sounds like, the plastic doesn't reach all parts of the mold. Oh, there were all kinds of fun things that I would catch. Not to knock Breyer, but they are made in China . . .
I used to have those stablemate barns and stuff, they do not take “hours” to take together 🙄
Mind that I had them when I was like 7-10 and they took maybe 15-30 min most building from scratch.
That's because you didn't yet have access to a good brandy. Lol
The person who said they got the “same” model for $75 is probably like one of those people who say that a bay looks exactly like a chestnut

@@cassofstupidity5168 Breyer made a mystery foal stablemate set with 2 stallions. A year or 2 ago. One was a drafter, and the other was Rivet (mustang). They had a cute foal though, which is a filly.
Because some people are straight laced, pearl clutching drama queens.

The misty horse actually has multiple color variants. 1972 was when it was first released. But if you go on identify your breyer and scroll to the bottom, they have 4 misty models together. And GASP the browns get lighter!
Like not gonna lie, I get the pettyness. I'm petty over stuff. But I'm petty over things like scratches on brand new models. Or a tail being scuffed up out of box.
But the misty model they own is yellowed and i guarantee that their brown is faded. It happens from sun damage especially. Ya gotta also remember that plastics change. I love seeing old models vs the newer ones. There's a charm to the old ones, but the new ones feel cleaner.
People need to get a life.

Just found this video. Laughing at the review for Magnum, especially since my Brookshire Pink Magnum is a “mare”. The boy parts/outdoor plumbing is missing.
I got it from my dealer right after it was released in the first shipment she received. I got to customize & put it in my body box where it stayed for months. When I took ot out I was looking it over for flaws & noticed it was missing the parts the Amazon reviewer was complaining about. I posted about it online but no one else had a Magnum mare so I took it to BF the next year & asked around. A Reeves employee in the Artisans Gallery said they had a few left over blanks from the 2008 JCP set & painted them as Magnum. Since the blanks were already prepped for painting the stallion parts couldn’t be added. When I asked how many Magnum mares were made he said 1-2 dozen. Too bad the lady buying for the 4 yr old didn’t get one of them.
I had no idea there were some mare versions of the model out there! How interesting. Thank you for sharing!
I cringed so hard when the reviewer said that lady phase didn't exist! I just want to reach in there and be like no it's okay she's real! 😂😂😂
And about the stallion bits...the reviewer's son ostensibly has male anatomy, and I would think they'd be more concerned about him whipping it out as little boys are sometimes prone to do! If they can teach him not to do that, I'm sure they can teach him not to point out the horse's anatomy either!

I saw a similar review for a cheetah toy.
It was a mother I think that complained, or rather was outraged, at the toy having male parts. And even then....the cat had canine private parts, but she did not complain about that. Simply it existing on the toy swas outrageous to her, needless to say: She was christian, of course. (There's a pattern to this ridiculousness at this point.)
I'm turning 30 this year and I remember distinctly that I played with toys with and without private parts. It NEVER mattered to me nor did it affect me, friends or their family's fragile feelings in any way.
I feel old enough as is, can these people stop making me think I was born 100 years ago and having me use the phrase 'back in my days!', PLEASE! X'D
The molds are mass-produced, and THAT is why one of their main slogans are, “No two horses are exactly alike!” I’ve collected models since 2011 and I have multiple of the older ones (Misty, Little Prince, etc.) and a lot of them are lighter or darker or have factory flaws. Yes, Breyer makes mistakes with everything. For 2020 BreyerFest, I never received half of my special run models, but Breyer was very apologetic and sent out all four models (Thorn, Oak, Brighid and Beltane). Get a life and stop hating on a company that’s been around for decades
I actually have both models of those horses. Brookside pink magnum and Misty with her foal and I didn’t find anything wrong with them whatsoever. But of course I have had Misty and Stormy for a long time because I got both of them from my older sister who handed them down to me. I ordered Brookside Pink Magnum from the actual Breyer store online. I have the correct Misty and Stormy Breyers and the right Brookside Pink Magnum
I never understood parents freaking out about realistic animal figures (breyer, schleich, etc.) having anatomically correct body parts; I don't know if it is because I grew up surrounded by animals and nature documentaries but it isn't absurd to see, it is nature after all. It makes me feel like the parents just refuse to acknowledge males from every species? Like, would they try to prevent their kids from seeing a horse or other animal that happens to have his junk out lmao? If they don't want realistic molds they can buy barbie horses or stuffed toys for their kids, realistic molds are typically used for learning.
I got the western show saddle for my birthday and it doesn't have stirrups😒
Yikes! I really like some of the Breyer tack, but they are far from perfect. I'm still sad that my favorite tack set I got when I started collecting has degraded so badly D:

Kids should be told the correct names of their body parts when they become curious about such things. It's natural, and nothing to be ashamed of, made fun of, or is "nasty". It's a part of life, and everyone has them.
I got the big wooden barn. It is true that it is hard to put together and poorly made. The holes for the skews didn’t line up(at least with the one I got) and was pretty disappointed as I was 7 and had been waiting for it for a year for Christmas, only to find out it had to be shipped back because nothing lined up so it couldn’t be put together. That was about my worst Breyer experience. I still wish I could have that barn and that it is able to be built tho lol

Little Prince is my first Breyer horse and he’s very nice
the stablemate vet set I haid in second grade and it was easy to assemble
I was reading one of the reviews and a mom got mad at Breyer because she paid $40
For two Breyer and they broke the same day because her daughter was banging them together she said they should be high quality and durable because they are “toys for little kids”

Should have gone to Dollar Tree and got some of those cheap rubbery horses instead, not models made to look at, and be played with gently.
I make my own halters for my breyers. i have thousands of mini rubber bands in all sorts of colors. i make them to fit classics and traditionals, as well as foals of both sizes. i rp a lot so this comes in handy a lot. i also make collars for the breyer dogs i have and the one cat. and for the comment on brookside pink magnum, there are other models out there that are more anatomically correct than him. lil ricky rocker. i have a schleich drafter that i use as a breyer Shetland for my rps and he is more correct than magnum lol. i think its funny.
I can't believe no one mentioned the god awful new cover of the Misty book. The horses eyes don't line up, Misty looks like the horse version of Sloth. Looks nothing like the gorgeous Wesley Dennis artwork.
So true. Wesley Dennis and Sam Savitt---2 of the best illustrators of horse books ever. May they both RIP.

Crazy how people think the horses come with the stuff but if you scroll down and look at what's included it tells you directly the horses are not included, also in the name it only says "western pleasure saddle". People are so dumb, honestly dont buy something without reading about it and then have the audacity to leave a bad review, that's a mistake on your part that you didn't read, not amazons!
I always wonder if the quality of the halters has changed, as I have a set and always see it online as better looking. But nope! Just false advertising. Helpful reviews xD

Yeah, all of my breyer horse models have well... rather realistic detailing gender parts but that's what makes them more realistic and fun because they are after all models of the real horses that they were all made model of wise apparently anyway. People who arevway too sensitive are just a bunch of karens who don't know squat about horses and should just keep their noses outta everyone else's business 🙄 😒 😑 good grief.
