You can also skip the heatgun / hairdryer adhesive release method, and just use a very small flat screwdriver to VERY VERY gently pry the old screen off without pushing the screwdriver more than 1/8" behind the screen - you don't want to damage anything under the screen. Use a good light source so you can see the adhesive strands coming loose, and you can also cut at those with another tool so it comes apart easier. With heat not only do you risk burning your fingers and (involuntary reflex) dropping the device, but you risk damaging the sensitive components inside.
I thought these were the toughest tablet screens out there as i had one for almost 2 years now and used it SO much. Also dropped it few good times. But last week my digitizer ended up looking just like that after a flat fall onto unever stone tile things. I got the 2017 model today 8" as well for 200 CDS and im really glad i did. Still waiting for the diigitizer in the mail though so i can sell this one
Love the video - it explained everything perfectly. I purchased super skinny 3m adhesive tape to use, rather than the pre-cut sheets they sell. The only problem, or sugguestion that I would make, is to NOT attach the screen connection cable on the back until after the screen is all lined up & in place. I unfortunatly snapped the band that was already connected while getting my screen into position.. this could have been avoided had I not attached it first. :(
thank you very much followed you example and switching out the digitizers was easy with the the exception of the adhesive, took a few try's to get it all replaced and staying down. new egg had the screen quickly to me with a kit that included the tools needed, the adhesive wasn't included and had to get that separately
The Art of The Deal This was one of the first videos I uploaded, if I get another one of these I will make a revised video and ad a voice over , which most my new video do have, at least at the start of the video
before i ask , my samsung tab is LTE .. had the same problem too .. when i check online for the digitizer , it only shows 3g digitizer for this Tab.. so my question is , is it the same digitizer ? or its different? if it is , what is the difference ?
I'm not sure if this is what is wrong with my tablet (I have the same tablet as what you're fixing in this video) since the actual glass is not cracked. But my tablet has vertical lines running up and down it. It still works as I can hear that I am clicking open apps when I tap the screen but I can't tell what I am doing because of the lines. Do I need a new digitizer or something else? Can take a picture of the lines and email it to you if that would help you determine the issue! Thanks in advance!
How do you keep the glass from breaking before you put it on? Once on, when putting the unit back together, the glass broke. Then I put my thumb on it and it broke in that section too. I did not push hard at all with my thumb. Was this inferior glass? Thanks so much.
TruthSleuth I would be thinking one of two things, one more likely than the other maybe inferior glass but more than likely there was still a small glass fragment left on the original adhesive on the frame after I have removed the glass I tend to run my thing along the area where the new glass will sit to make sure its 100% ready for the new glass to go in
prololipop I did end up bonding the digitizer using double sided tape. I was doing this as a dry test, as I have had brand new digitizer that were faulty, and I would rather not stick it down then find out its faulty
My screen is slightly popped of of the side nothing's wrong with the screen I litteraly got it today. I've tried to just push it back down but it just comes back up I don't want to take the whole screen off to put some new adhesive or anything but do you know any thing I could do?
Are you referring to the small thin blade i use in the first couple of minutes with white rubber on the middle of it? www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20180805152402&SearchText=isesamo+pry+tool its a rebranded isesamo pry tool
So I replaced the digitizer but the screen is now only working on some spots mostly the middle. Do I need a different digitizer or is the LCD the issue now? How would I know?
i would disconnect the and reconnect the Digitizer Connector, you normally want a nice "Snap" Noise when you connect it up. I have found tho some digitizers are just duds :(
I just replaced my digitizer and having the same issue where some spots are non-responsive; for example, the lowest row on the password screen doesn’t work so you can’t enter a zero. I tried reconnecting the digitizer connector and heard it snap in nicely. Any ideas?

This is weird, I did this method and I failed. I ended up breaking the lcd screen. What I didn’t know that there was a LAYER OF ADHESIVE BETWEEN THE DIGITIZER AND LCD PANEL.
No main board removal required on the part just use heat and remove the same as you did with the dig. just make sure you undo the bottom connector for the lcd.
Has anyone had issues with the replacement digitiser. I have replaced 2 of my kids ones and they are both having issues with them being non responsive half the time. Bought of eBay. Can't find anyone else having issues. Can't find where to buy genuine Samsung.
if the screen video looks normal, with no runny areas or discolorations, then the lcd is good, and you just need to replace the top glass, called the digitizer
I Have now got a Updated Video With Voice overs and multiple angles.

This tutorial was perfect! Was able to replace the screen in under a half hour no problems! Thanks a bunch
Thank you. I have replaced this tablet screen 3 times already as my kid kept breaking it :)

Both of your vids were excellent tutorials, thanks! My son's tablet is good as new!
13:21 Looks like you messed up the bezel on the tablet. Little rough with the prying don't you think?
Not enough heat when i was removing the old digitizer, i know have a temperature controlled head pad for future repairs
Great video. A voice-over or subtitles would have made it perfect.

Katie Huntley hi Katie
If it's has lines on the screen and you cannot see a picture correct it would be a damaged display/oled panel
what do you think is a good case to keep the tablet from cracking like this again

Where did you buy the digitizer with Samsung logo? Is that an OEM part? Thanks!
If i remember correctly, i purchased this from ebay, my local supplier had a bad back and i tracked down a different one
Do you know where I can find just the home keypad for this tablet? Can’t seem to find it anywhere
Very well explained I was able to follow all steps no problem
Hi this is an older video
A Better newer Version is here

Thank you; very clear. You saved my tablet.
Excellent!
Nice follow through, Did you have any problem with not replacing the adhesive?
prololipop I did end up bonding the digitizer using double sided tape.
I was doing this as a dry test, as I have had brand new digitizer that were faulty, and I would rather not stick it down then find out its faulty
Thanks for the reply, I ended up changing the tape too. Worked like a charm and only took 20 minutes thanks to your vid.

I've tried to just push it back down but it just comes back up I don't want to take the whole screen off to put some new adhesive or anything but do you know any thing I could do?
if its a new device, i would be taking it back for warranty.
normally when a device has a screen bulge happening i find it can be an expanding battery
Are you serious? Return it. Get another. Doesn't anyone have common sense anymore?
broderp I returned it 4 days ago your a bit late to the party bud haha
Where did you get the mini crowbar to pry the casing apart? I tried to freeze frame but I can't read when I blow it up. What is it called?

where did you buy the double sided tape? or what brand did you use
There is various brands but for this i used 3m double sided tape (think it was 3mm thick)
if you look on ebay for 3M mobile repair tape
i wish you'll still reply on this.
is galaxy tab 4 compatible with GALAXY tab A 8.0?
Copenhagen Llagas I would be extremely doubtful it would be, rarely anything in the tech world works with other models
Do you have a video of the charge port replacement
I don't think so
great video!
is it SM-T350 ?
3Dom Bee if I remember correctly it is, and the sm-t355 is a cellular/WiFi model
Sir is this a samsung galaxy tab a with S pen 2016, SM T355
no S-Pen with this model but steps should be similar
I can´t find a glass replacement, is SM-P350 the same as SM-T350?
(sorry, bad english :C)
not sure, sorry
SM-P350 is same screen size but has "S-Pen"
SM-T350 has no "S-Pen"
Cool, thx.
Also, where did you bought the screen?

An Angah yes
What model is that?
What are the 2 circle buttons for on the back of the tablet?
They are clips for some samsung covers to push in to
Can i replace p355 digitizer to a t355?

Sorry to hear that
I do have another video of this repair with more in depth discussion in the description
@@rickstechrepairs I have a question, the tablet your repairing in the video. Does it come equipped with the spen feature or no ?
+Ricks Tech how do u replace the LCD panel thx
Hi, it would almost be the same steps, but you may need to remove the mainboard from the assembly to get be able to remove the LCD
No main board removal required on the part just use heat and remove the same as you did with the dig. just make sure you undo the bottom connector for the lcd.
where do i get the battery and the display screen for replacement?please help

Ricks Tech iam from India
@@imsonusherpa2919 Mee too, and I am also in need of digitizer..
How do I change the LCD screen? My main screen is fine but the LCD cracked!! Help me!
abs choudhury basically the same steps but would need to buy a LCD display and possibly another touch panel just incase it breaks when you remove it
how much it cost?
Do I need a heat gun to remove it? because I don't have one
If you don't have a heat gun, I wouldn't attempt it
Ricks Tech oh ok. Thank you!
Where did you get the tools??
Most the tools are able to be purchased from mobile repair websites, or just on ebay
Has anyone had issues with the replacement digitiser. I have replaced 2 of my kids ones and they are both having issues with them being non responsive half the time. Bought of eBay. Can't find anyone else having issues. Can't find where to buy genuine Samsung.

whats a Digitizer ?

Jade Bose I would take the back off again and double check the loud speaker

How to change old battery in this tablet
I don't have this tablet to do a video on that
what the knife called
Iseasami
Thank you.
I keep finding these types of videos even though i typed in LCD , MY LCD IS CRACKED .... HOW CAN I REPLACE THAT!!!! if anyone knows.
If you can remove the digitizer , you are only 1 or 2 steps away from removing the. LCD
So, why does that have an earpiece when a tablet doesnt have one???
it's the 3g cellular version of the tab A. It's different from the normal SM-T350 standard version
it was the lcd
How about some sound & is incomplete.
Look at the pinned comment
Can u use a blow dryer
That should be ok, you would need to move the blow dryer slower than the heatgun as it will take longer for the glue/tape to become tacky and lift
Ricks Tech i have broken my tab and if my parents find out they will never buy me other one again
ouch not good
I know this is an old comment, but I did use my blow dryer and it worked perfectly fine.
I have this and it's cracked from my dad
I'm on it now 😓
Looks like you damaged the bezel at the bottom. It looks bent.
