- Hi,
I hope this video will help you to update your great Roland TD12 vdrums module to the latest version 1.11
It's FREE
Things you need to prepare:
Download the drivers from the Roland Official website: www.roland.com
Prepare MIDI-USB interface (high quality for example Roland UM-1).
Check if all cables are connected properly (especially MIDI IN & OUT)
If you enjoy - leave a like & comment :)
Very helpful, had never done a firmware flash through MIDI, so glad I found your video it made the update easy, THANKS!!!!
3 years later and you're still helping people.
Thanks very much for this. New to the MIDI world and you could not have made this simpler. Well done.
Hello friends, does the update add the reverb effect in the multi-effect? Thanks
I just picked up a TD-12 and have not done the update yet what is the update for? Is it bug fixes or new features? Thanks for the walk through it will be a huge help!
The details you can find on the Roland website, but what I can remember is you get some new snare and kick sounds, some new trigger settings, new option to split mix in signal to mono/stereo and some other similar settings.
It is not a milestone, but some things are useful.
Thanks man! Didn't even know they still update this old thing xD
Hello! Can I update on a macbook with IOS 10.14 (Mojave) and an m-audio midi/usb cable?
THANK YOU SIR !! 😎
GJ! Enjoy 😀
Hi, could anybody help me? Im performing the update with a Scarlet 6i6 but the update gets hanged at "Receiving 64/64" Does anybody know what happens if I turn the module off? I've been trying to push the update without success for 5 hs but Im afraid to damage the unit if I do.
I had such a hard time doing the update. WHY? Coz there's NO INSTRUCTIONS saying that the MIDI Interface (in my case the CakeWalk/Roland UM-1g) the Midi Thru switch should be set to "OFF".
Also, if you read the TD-12 System Update Procedures.pdf #2 says "2. Connect the MIDI IN of the TD-12 to the MIDI OUT of the computer MIDI interface". This isn't accurate for Roland's recommened Sequencer software "UpdSMF.exe", NOR the CakeWalk/Roland UM-1g which simply uses an USB connected to your computer.
I am performing this operation now with a $12 USB-Midi connector from Amazon. PC shows "sending" but TD-12 does not say receiving. Only says "please send smf data files."
Try to reconnect and then try connecting Midi in + Midi out. Try also another USB port in your PC. Check your settings in PC - maybe USB device is not allowed. Maybe you can try to run program with oder Windows version. I remember that I had also problems with cheap USB-MIDI connectors, that's why i decided to buy Roland UM-one and problem has gone.
did it work for u? mines doing the same thing w a cheap cable
For me, when i press setup and rec, nothing happens. TD12 stay off. Can you help me?
Is it after update or just at current version?
Sometimes buttons get old and need hit harder. I had some examples that needed "harder" clicking. Of course with feeling (not to damage it) ;)
by clicking "send" does the roland module receives the data right away? 'couse the program is at 50% already and stands on the first message
Send means sending data from application to the Roland module. Module receives the data and when all information is forwarded to module, then it should start installing. Please note that I recomend High quality interface (if you move USB port while processing etc. it might get damaged). Of course everything at your own responsibilty.
Tem como usar outra marca de cabo mid?
99% Yes, but I recommend only high quality products - if you use cheap cable, it may crash during upload process and what then? Roland cable is high quality and it never failes me.
Thank you!
Здравствуйте. Вы пробовали загрузить обновление от Roland td-20 ?
