Last night when I was falling asleep I thought of this project and the phrase "like pearls before swine" came into my head. So I painted Queenie, a pig decked out in pearls!
I loved painting this! I loved it especially because it reminded me when I was really little, because I used to watch Charlotte's web with my sister all the time.
This was the absolute hardest tutorial I've ever done. Only red, brown and black paint. I thought maybe it is because it is basically all shades of pink, but I love how my brown rabbit turned out and he was basically lots of shades of brown. I think it was the red paint that I didn't like. It seemed so watery and the brown and black were extremely strong. Other than the pig I really love Let's Make Art tutorials.
Really want to try this one. Am fearful of the color mixing. Camera angles didn’t always show what Sarah was doing. But will give it a try when I’m feeling brave.
I love these videos and this pig project! One suggestion, though, is to have the camera angle from the artist's point of view or looking straight down from above. It's harder to follow when our view is sideways, particularly for the eyes.

great, sorry for asking , but ive never seen watercolours in bottles with a dropper. pans or tubes. could you please explain. such a cute pig, could we do some poddy calves, so love cows
Hi Robyn! The paints Sarah uses are liquid watercolor. They are vibrant dye based paints that are beginner friendly. You can also use pan paints and tube paints with these tutorials.
Aww I love this piggy😍🐷💓🐖! May I please suggest future painting ideas I'd love to see and paint? A Mermaid 🧜♀️ would be super fun and cool and also a Sea Turtle🌊🐢!
So what happens when you run out of paint after you mixed the color and then you cant make the same color over again to make more? Any tips on how to match colors or is it practice makes perfect
Great question Julia! It is a bit more of the practice makes perfect idea - however don't stress if the changes in the color are subtle. Also I like to mix colors as I go and as I need them, but some artists mix all of their colors beforehand and just have a nice pool to draw from so that might work better for you :)

cindy shupe I wouldn’t stress. We all love LMA but it is important to plan for this when doing the piece. I just went out and got Quinacrindone Rose which should work.

What size brushes?

I agree! I SO wanted that sort of blush like pink that appeared in the reference photo but the one they gave us was way too bright!
I do really LOVE the lets make art people and don’t mean to post a negative comment but I was just in agreement about the shade of pink.
