Fully disagree. He grades out lower than Teven Jenkins. He also has a medical history of blood clots that if they come back he has been told he will need to quit playing football. Why would we spend $22 million dollars per year, or more, on him when we could bring back Jenkins for $13 million per year and the sign zeitler for $6 million dollars more, who ranked out as the third best guard in the NFL this past year. I understand that Jenkins has had trouble staying on the field and that Zeitler is not a spring chicken, but we talk about Trey Smith as though he's this elite top five type guard and he is definitely not. Obviously you would need to draft a couple offensive lineman but they are going to do that anyway and to have somebody to rotate in if Jenkins has trouble staying healthy again and fill in after Zeitler is gone is going to happen anyway.

Trey smith and dalleman need to be signed. That would solidify the right side and center. I like Jones as either a LT or LG might be better at guard. Then only need to sign or draft a LT or LG. Depending on what you do with Jones.

The answer is undoubtedly Drew Dalman. He is a top five center in the league, is only 26 years old, and will cost you less than half of what you would pay for Trey Smith at guard.
Trey smith will be signed by Kansas City. Teams always find ways to sign their own stars , especially the lines - regardless of their cap situation. We are not getting him. We need to start thinking of other options other then people who are over 32

I don't want any of these guys, either due to age, injury concerns, undersized or simply lack of production. are Javonte Williams, Tim Patrick & Juwann Johnson actually upgrades over Roschon Johnson, Collin Johnson & Gerald Everett, respectively? I don't think so.

Too much money on a guard when we are still rebuilding. Draft 2 guards in one in wnd and one in 3rd round sign Jenkins and Zeitler. Draft a center. Now we have development taking place and we still have next years draft for more O linemen. By next year line will be monster in the run and pass
I know the bears want to upgrade their RB room and we are looking at the draft since it’s a weak Free Agent class but how about a trade? I am looking at a team like the Jets and Breece Hall. If they decide to move on from Rodgers and Adams then it’s a rebuild for them. He is coming off of a somewhat disappointing season and they have 2 young guys behind him. Will they want to pay him when the time comes? I don’t think it would take a crazy return to land him. With the Bears potentially getting another 3rd rounder for Cunningham I would be happy to move a little capital to get a guy who I think would be great in a Ben Johnson system.
No maybes please . The Bears should not waste time or money on 30 year old players. The OL has to have the most aggressive beast available. No settling on the OL go after the best available.
@ one pro-bowl and plays for a team that refs have a reputation for holding flags for. He will have to play cleaner here, the unfortunate reality of the league. Zeitler has similar grades the last few years and will come at a fraction of the cost. He knows the system and provides a bridge while we develop players to take his spot. We don’t need to repeat the mistakes of the Pace era. If it was the last piece to go for a title, I get it, but the Bears are not that close yet.

This guy was a day three pick and we need to do the same thing. A quality bridge should be enough, if these coaches are as advertised.

Matt ebeflus wasn’t the problem. He was a great defensive cordnator. He knew how to lead a locker room and he was pretty decent with time management for like every game besides the detriot one. He should have been our DC this year
@Ausm - I agree that Matt Eberflus is a good defensive coordinator. He was not a good head coach and also did not effectively have a strong ability to lead the team. His defense was not the problem but he was as the head coach. He completely lost the locker room and understandably so. Tyrique Stevenson is responsible for the tip in the loss to the Commanders and for taunting the fans prior to that but shouldn't Matt Eberflus have seen what was going on and called a timeout? Why not call a timeout to get the defense set? On that play, there were only 3 DL's rushing the QB. There were a couple of LB's shadowing Jayden Daniels, if he decided to run. From the 50 yard line? Jayden Daniels was never going to run. They needed to pressure the QB. Matt Eberflus before the season touted himself as knowing offense, as well as defense. He said that it would be a collaborative process on offense working with Shane Waldron. Eberflus had his face covered on offense when Waldron was the OC which tells me that he was influencing the offensive plays. That is a problem. He appeared to not let Shane Waldron fully call plays on offense. Instead of letting Shane Waldron calls plays from the booth, they ended up firing him and put Thomas Brown in the booth. Matt Eberflus may have unnecessarily ruined Shane Waldron's career.

@ausm - I liked Matt Eberflus as a defensive coach. After he started calling defensive plays in 2023, the defense was top 9 in the league. The team needed to let Shane Waldron just call his game, even if that meant passing the ball 40+ times per game. He liked to pass 60% to 70% of the time. Caleb Williams had a part in the Detroit Lions loss. He called an unnecessary timeout a couple of plays prior to the last play. He also missed a wide open D.J. Moore on a crossing pattern that would have guaranteed a tie and could have been a TD. After the sack with 30 seconds left, Caleb Williams had no sense of urgency. He let the clock wind down too long. If Matt Eberflus knew that would happen, he would have could a timeout right away. Regardless of all the things that happened out of Matt Eberflus' control (blocked FG's, Hail Mary in Washington, etc.), he is a very good defensive coordinator and I am happy he got hired in Dallas. The Bears needed an offensive minded head coach. I wanted Drew Petzing and hope Ben Johnson will work out for the Bears. Out of fairness to Ryan Poles, he was hired and only had 3 coaches to choose from. (Eberflus, Quinn and Caldwell) He also didn't draft Justin Fields. This gives Ryan Poles the opportunity to fully prove himself with his desired coaching staff and QB. All of us just want to see the Bears win and make the playoffs.

Cole and Rome was drafted him but all of yall seem to want Keenan And Everett because it sound good. we need make our two WRs priority, draft a RB to pair with swift make them priority, and Cole kmet the safety valve is priority. We can find another TE2 for Cheaper and same amount of production. Same with a WR3

That's a very high expectation and a lot of resources spent. This line will not be built in one year.
